Abstract
This study investigates the removal efficiency of Cu2+ from wastewater using a composite hydrogel made of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), sodium alginate (SA), and polyacrylic acid (PAA) prepared by free radical polymerization. The CNTs@SA/PAA hydrogel's structure and properties were characterized using SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, rheology, DSC, EDS, elemental mapping analysis, and swelling. The adsorption performance for Cu2+ was tested in batch adsorption experiments, considering the pH, dosage, initial concentration, and contact time. The optimal conditions for Cu2+ removal were pH 5.0, an adsorbent dosage of 500 mg/L, and a contact time of 360 min. The adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetics. Isotherm analyses (Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin-Radushkevich, Sips, Toth, and Khan) revealed that the Freundlich isotherm best described the adsorption, with a maximum capacity of 358.52 mg/g. A thermodynamic analysis indicated that physical adsorption was the main interaction, with the spontaneity of the process also demonstrated. This study highlights the high efficiency and environmental friendliness of CNT@SA/PAA composites for Cu2+ removal from wastewater, offering a promising approach for water treatment.

Abstract
Heavy metals (e.g., Cu) in wastewater are attractive resources for diverse applications, and adsorption is a promising route to recovery of heavy metals from wastewater. However, high-performance adsorbents with high adsorption capacity, speed, and stability remain challenging. Herein, chelating fibers were prepared by chemically grafting amine and carboxyl groups onto the polyacrylonitrile fiber surface and used in the wastewater's adsorption of Cu2+. The adsorption behavior of Cu2+ on the fibers was systematically investigated, and the post-adsorption fibers were comprehensively characterized to uncover the adsorption mechanism. The results show that chelated fiber has a 136.3 mg/g maximum capacity for Cu2+ adsorption at pH = 5, and the whole adsorption process could reach equilibrium in about 60 min. The adsorption process corresponds to the quasi-secondary kinetic and Langmuir models. The results of adsorption, FTIR, and XPS tests indicate that the synergistic coordination of -COOH and -NH2 plays a leading role in the rapid capture of Cu2+. In addition, introducing hydrophilic groups facilitates the rapid contact and interaction of the fibers with Cu2+ in the solution. After being used five times, the fiber's adsorption capacity remains at over 90% of its original level.

Abstract
Cotton-based catalytic fabric (CCF) was prepared by the simple padding-drying method with the copolymer of five functional monomers as the modifier and was applied in the solid-liquid-liquid phase-transfer catalysis (SLL-PTC) system. Effects of the structure of the function monomer, the content of the cation, and the loading amount on the catalytic activity of CCF were investigated. The lipophilicity, disperse extent of cationic center, and the accessory to the ion for CCF were influenced by the structure and content of the function monomer. The organic phase was adsorbed on the surface of the catalytic fabric, and the novel catalytic cycle in the PTC system was initiated. The anion in the aqueous phase diffuses through the interfacial region to the site for ion exchange. Bond-forming reaction was initiated in the interfacial region between the organic phase on the fabric and the aqueous phase. The conversion rate for Williamson ether synthesis reaction reached 92%, and CCF could be reused five times in this SLL-PTC system.

Abstract
1,2,3-triazoles are popular heterocycles employed in material sciences and medicinal
chemistry as they show antiviral, antibacterial, anti-HIV, antitubercular, and antifungal
activities. Triazoles are appealing due to their stability and interesting click chemistry
properties. The Cu(I) catalyzed reaction between azides and alkynes affords the 1,4-
disubstituted derivative exclusively becoming a useful synthetic tool. However, one of the
main drawbacks of the catalyzed reaction is the need to use Cu(I), which is unstable at
standard conditions and rapidly oxidizes to the non-active Cu(II). The most common approach
when synthesizing 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles is to reduce Cu in situ employing
inorganic Cu salts and a reducing agent. The resulting Cu(I) needs to be further stabilized
with organic ligands for the reaction to take place. The aim of homogeneous catalysis
is to produce a ligand with a dual function both in reducing and stabilizing Cu(I) without interfering in the
overall reaction. Instead, heterogeneous catalysis offers more options when supporting Cu on nanoparticles,
complexes, and composites yielding the desired 1,2,3-triazoles in most cases without the need of a reducing
agent under green solvents such as ethanol and water. The catalytic activity of Ag, Ru, and Ce is also discussed.
This review exemplifies how the use of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts offers new and
green methodologies for the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives. The materials supporting Cu show catalytic
properties like high surface area, acid-base sites or phase transfer. Although there is no ideal catalyst, Cu remains
the most effective metal since it is economical, abundant and readily available.

Abstract
A new nano-ordered 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate-1,3-propylene covalently functionalized MCM-41 (MCM-41-Pr-THEIC) was designed and prepared at room temperature through a simple procedure. According to various microscopic, spectroscopic, or thermal methods and techniques, the correlation of the catalytic performance of the hybrid mesoporous MCM-41-Pr-THEIC to its structural characteristics was fully confirmed. The new MCM-41-Pr-THEIC organosilica nanomaterials were successfully investigated as a solid mild nanocatalyst through hydrogen-bonding activation provided by its organic moiety, for the pseudo-four-component condensation of dimedone, aldehydes, and ammonium acetate or p-toluidine to afford the corresponding acridinedione derivatives under green conditions. Furthermore, the introduced nanocatalyst could be reused at least four times with negligible loss of its activity, indicating the good stability and high activity of the new hybrid organosilica.

Abstract
Background:
1,2,3-triazoles are an important class of organic compounds and because of their
aromatic stability, they are not easily reduced, oxidized or hydrolyzed in acidic and basic environments.
Moreover, 1,2,3-triazole derivatives are known by their important biological activities and have drawn
considerable attention due to their variety of properties. The synthesis of this nucleus, based on the click
chemistry concept, through the 1,3-dipolar addition reaction between azides and alkynes is a well-known
procedure. This reaction has a wide range of applications, especially on the development of new drugs.
Methods:
The most prominent eco-friendly methods for the synthesis of triazoles under microwave irradiation
published in articles from 2012-2018 were reviewed.
Results:
In this review, we cover some of the recent eco-friendly CuAAC procedures for the click synthesis of
1,2,3-triazoles with remarks to new and easily recoverable catalysts, such as rhizobial cyclic β-1,2 glucan;
WEB (water extract of banana); biosourced cyclosophoraose (CyS); egg shell powder (ESP); cyclodextrin (β-
CD); fish bone powder; nanoparticle-based catalyst, among others.
Conclusion:
These eco-friendly procedures are a useful tool for the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles, providing
many advantages on the synthesis of this class, such as shorter reaction times, easier work-up and higher yields
when compared to classical procedures. Moreover, these methodologies can be applied to the industrial
synthesis of drugs and to other areas.
