Abstract
In this brief review, we discuss our efforts to validate nanoplatforms for imaging and treatment of endometriosis. We specifically highlight our use of nonhuman primates and primate tissues in this effort. Endometriosis is a painful disorder of women and nonhuman primates (NHPs) where endometrium-like tissue exists outside of the uterus. There are no reliable, specific, and noninvasive diagnostic tests for endometriosis. Laparoscopic imaging remains the gold standard for identifying small endometriotic lesions in both women and monkeys. Visualizing and surgically removing microscopic lesions remains a clinical challenge. To address this challenge, we have created nanoparticle reagents that, when administered intravenously, enter endometriotic lesions both passively and by targeting endometriotic cells. The particles can carry payloads, including near-infrared fluorescent dyes and magnetic nanoparticles. These agents can be used for imaging and thermal ablation of diseased tissues. We evaluated this approach on macaque endometriotic cells, human and macaque endometrium engrafted into immunodeficient mice, in endometrium subcutaneously autografted in macaques, and in rhesus monkeys with spontaneous endometriosis. Employing these models, we report that nanoplatform-based reagents can improve imaging and provide thermal ablation of endometriotic tissues.

Abstract
BACKGROUND : Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer in women all over the world and the second most common cause of cancer-related mortality. Imaging examination plays an important role in the diagnosis of early breast cancer. Due to different imaging principles and methods, all kinds of examinations have their advantages and disadvantages. It is particularly important for clinicians to choose these examination methods reasonably to achieve the best diagnostic effect. The objectives of this systematic review and NMA are to determine the diagnostic accuracy of imaging technologies for breast cancer and to compare the diagnostic accuracy of different index tests and to support guidelines development and clinical practice. METHODS : PubMed, Embase.com, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang, and SinoMed will be searched to identify relevant studies up to August 31, 2021. We will include random controlled trials, cross-sectional studies, case-control studies, and cohort studies that evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of different imaging diagnostic methods for breast cancer. The Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies 2 quality assessment tool will be used to assess the risk of bias in each study. Standard pairwise meta-analysis and NMA will be performed using STATA V.12.0, MetaDiSc 1.40, and R 3.4.1 software to compare the diagnostic efficacy of different imaging diagnostic methods. Subgroup analyses and sensitivity analyses will be conducted to investigate the sources of heterogeneity. RESULTS : The results of this study will be published in a peer-reviewed journal. CONCLUSION : This study will comprehensively evaluate the accuracy of different imaging diagnostic methods in the diagnosis of breast cancer. The results of this study will provide high-quality evidence to support clinical practice and guidelines development.

Abstract
Endometriosis is a gynecological disease, the pathogenesis of which seems to be directly associated with inflammatory processes. Serum concentrations of IL-1β, IL-6, hs-CRP, IgG, YKL 40 and PRL, in comparison to the well-known CA 125 levels, were studied with the aim of identifying an additional noninvasive inflammatory marker or set of markers characteristic for endometriosis. The study group included 43 women with endometriosis (E), 35 women with benign gynecological disorders but without endometriosis (NE, non-endometriosis) as a comparative group, and a control group consisting of 18 healthy subjects (C). The serum concentrations of IL-1β, IL-6, hs-CRP, YKL-40, PRL and CA 125 were significantly higher in the E group (median values: 0.41 pg/mL, 2.42 pg/mL, 2.33 mg/L, 79.30 ng/mL, 21.88 ng/mL and 68.00 U/mL, respectively) than in the control group (median values: 0.21 pg/mL, 0.98 pg/mL, 0.52 mg/L, 49.77 ng/mL, 12.08 ng/mL and 12.20 U/mL respectively), with the significance of p = 0.011, p < 0.001, p = 0.028, p = 0.005, p < 0.001 and p < 0.001, respectively. The IgG concentrations were significantly lower in the endometriosis group (median value: 1061.21 mg/dL) as compared to healthy women (median value: 1210.50 mg/dL; p = 0.025). Significant differences in concentrations of IL-6 (p = 0.040), hs-CRP (p = 0.007) and CA 125 (p < 0.001) were observed in stage III vs. stage IV of endometriosis. Significantly higher concentrations of IL-6 (p = 0.010), hs-CRP (p = 0.037) and PRL (p < 0.001) were observed in the NE group vs. the control group. Only CA 125 concentrations were significantly higher in endometriosis patients as compared to the non-endometriosis group (p < 0.001). The proposed panel of inflammatory markers, especially IL-6, PRL and CA 125, may become a useful tool to identify women with advanced endometriosis who could qualify for treatment.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Endometriosis is a benign gynecological disease, which significantly impairs fertility. However, the contribution of specific hormonal parameters to the proper diagnosis of endometriosis in infertility states has not been adequately determined. The aim of this study was to compare ant-Mullerian hormone (AMH), prolactin and estradiol concentrations between infertile women with and without endometriosis, as well as to estimate the effect of endometrioid heterotopia on ovarian reserve. METHODS In this cross-sectional study, mean baseline serum AMH, prolactin and estradiol levels were assessed in infertile women with and without endometriosis. Descriptive statistics are presented in the form of arithmetic mean ± standard deviation (SD). The comparison of indicators was performed by using parametric (t-test) and non-parametric criteria (Mann-Whitney). RESULTS Seventy-two infertile women with endometriosis (group A; mean age: 32 ± 4.3 years) and 77 infertile women without endometriosis (group B; mean age: 32.4 ± 3.7 years) were studied. Mean baseline prolactin concentrations were higher in group A (16.9 ± 5.7 ng/mL) compared with group B (15 ± 4.3 ng/mL; p = .023), whereas mean AMH concentrations were lower (2.8 ± 1.9 ng/mL and 3.5 ± 1.8 ng/mL, respectively; p = .018). The highest prolactin and the lowest AMH concentrations were found in women with ovarian endometriomas than in those with deep infiltrative endometriosis and adenomyosis. There was no difference in estradiol levels between groups. CONCLUSIONS Infertile women with endometriosis demonstrated higher prolactin and lower AMH concentrations, compared with infertile women without endometriosis. The highest prolactin and the lowest AMH concentrations were observed in patients with ovarian endometriomas.

Abstract
Endometriosis is a gynecological disorder that affects 176 million women worldwide and 1 in 10 females in the United States. Endometriosis most often affects women of child-bearing age, with most going undiagnosed. Endometriosis also shares many characteristics common to invasive cancer and has been known to be associated with epithelial ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the 11th most common cancer among women and over 22,000 new cases will be diagnosed within the next year. Women most commonly diagnosed with this cancer are between the ages of 55–64 years, outside the range of the age of women affected with endometriosis. While no known cause of either disease has been established, epigenetic regulation is thought to play a major role in both. This review focuses on epigenetic changes that occur within each individual disease as well as those that are similar in both, suggesting a possible etiological link between the two diseases.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to explore whether estrogen-related receptors α (ERRα) can prognosticate the occurrence and development of ovarian endometriosis (EMs) as a non-invasive biomarker. METHODS The ectopic and its' correspond eutopic endometria from 47 patients with ovarian EMs and the control normal endometria from 32 cases were collected and detected the mRNA expression of ERRα by RT-qPCR. The serum protein of ERRα were tested by ELISA. The menstrual cycle, ovarian cyst sizes, relative clinical tumour markers, such as CA125, CA19-9 and HE-4, and other demographic data were also involved into analysis in these patients by SPSS 22.0 (IBM, Chicago, IL, USA). RESULTS The ERRα mRNA expression in ectopic endometria were significantly lower than it in eutopic endometria (P < 0.05) and the normal endometria (P < 0.05). Similarly, the serum ERRα levels in patients with EMs were significantly lower than it in control group (P < 0.01). Moreover, the serum ERRα levels were decreasing with the increasing of the pathological stages and ovarian cyst sizes. While, the serum CA125, CA19-9, CA125/ERRα ratio and CA19-9/ERRα ratio in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group (all P < 0.01). CONCLUSION The expression of ERRα is correlated with the development of ovarian EMs pathological stages and ovarian cyst sizes and can be used as a novel and non-invasive biomarker for evaluating the progression of ovarian EMs.
