An enhanced guided LDA model augmented with BERT based semantic strength for aspect term extraction in sentiment analysis

Attention and sentiment of Chinese public toward rural landscape based on Sina Weibo

Rural landscapes, as products of the interaction between humans and nature, not only reflect the history and culture of rural areas but also symbolize economic and social progress. This study proposes a deep learning-based model for Weibo data analysis aimed at exploring the development direction of rural landscapes from the perspective of the Chinese public. The research reveals that the Chinese public's attention to rural landscapes has significantly increased with the evolution of government governance concepts. Most people express a high level of satisfaction and happiness with the existing rural landscapes, while a minority harbor negative emotions towards unreasonable new rural construction. Through the analysis of public opinion regarding rural landscapes, this study will assist decision-makers in understanding the mechanisms of public discourse on social media. It will also aid relevant scholars and designers in providing targeted solutions, which hold significant importance for policy formulation and the exploration of specific development patterns.

Classification and Prediction of Food Safety Policy Tools in China Based on Machine Learning

Governments use policy interventions to mitigate food safety risks. Despite its crucial role, empirical studies evaluating the effectiveness of China's food safety policy tools are scarce. Drawing on a dataset encompassing 11,236 food safety policy texts from 2005 to 2021 and the incidence of problematic food products in the Eastern, Central, and Western regions of China, this study employs Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) models to facilitate the classification of policy tools and forecast the effectiveness of policy combinations. The study reveals that (1) local governments have gradually become an important supplementary maker of food safety policies, and have issued an increasing number of policy tools year by year. (2) Mandatory policy tools are predominant in number and have the highest legal hierarchy and authority levels, followed successively by guiding policy and voluntary policy tools. (3) Mandatory policy tools demonstrated the most effective intervention results, followed successively by guiding policy and voluntary policy tools. (4) The forecast analysis reveals that combinations of policies within high-growth frameworks and those driven by mandatory regulations emerge as the most effective. Therefore, the balance of policy tools in terms of type, effectiveness, and quantity, as well as their applicability in different situations, should all be taken into account.

A Lightweight Sentiment Analysis Framework for a Micro-Intelligent Terminal

Sentiment analysis aims to mine polarity features in the text, which can empower intelligent terminals to recognize opinions and further enhance interaction capabilities with customers. Considerable progress has been made using recurrent neural networks or pre-trained models to learn semantic representations. However, recently published models with complex structures require increasing computational resources to reach state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. It is still a significant challenge to deploy these models to run on micro-intelligent terminals with limited computing power and memory. This paper proposes a lightweight and efficient framework based on hybrid multi-grained embedding on sentiment analysis (MC-GGRU). The gated recurrent unit model is designed to incorporate a global attention structure that allows contextual representations to be learned from unstructured text using word tokens. In addition, a multi-grained feature layer can further enrich sentence representation features with implicit semantics from characters. Through hybrid multi-grained representation, MC-GGRU achieves high inference performance with a shallow structure. The experimental results of five public datasets show that our method achieves SOTA for sentiment classification with a trade-off between accuracy and speed.

Aspect term extraction via information-augmented neural network

Aspect term extraction (ATE) aims at identifying the aspect terms that are expressed in a sentence. Recently, Seq2Seq learning has been employed in ATE and significantly improved performance. However, it suffers from some weaknesses, such as lacking the ability to encode the more informative information and integrate information of surrounding words in the encoder. The static word embeddings employed in ATE fall short of modeling the dynamic meaning of words. To alleviate the problems mentioned above, this paper proposes the information-augmented neural network (IANN) which is a novel Seq2Seq learning framework. In IANN, a specialized neural network is developed as the key module of the encoder, named multiple convolution with recurrence network (MCRN), to encode the more informative information and integrate information of surrounding words in the encoder. The contextualized embedding layer is designed to capture the dynamic word sense. Besides, the novel AO ({Aspect, Outside}) tags are proposed as the less challenging tagging scheme. A lot of experiments have been performed on three widely used datasets. These experiments demonstrate that the proposed IANN acquires state-of-the-art results and validate that the proposed IANN is a powerful method for the ATE task.

NLP-Based Digital Forensic Analysis for Online Social Network Based on System Security

Social media evidence is the new topic in digital forensics. If social media information is correctly explored, there will be significant support for investigating various offenses. Exploring social media information to give the government potential proof of a crime is not an easy task. Digital forensic investigation is based on natural language processing (NLP) techniques and the blockchain framework proposed in this process. The main reason for using NLP in this process is for data collection analysis, representations of every phase, vectorization phase, feature selection, and classifier evaluation. Applying a blockchain technique in this system secures the data information to avoid hacking and any network attack. The system’s potential is demonstrated by using a real-world dataset.
