Abstract
Bismuth ferrite (BiFeO₃) is a multiferroic perovskite material with a narrow band gap (~2.1 eV), demonstrating significant potential as a photocatalyst for environmental remediation and sustainable energy applications. Its photocatalytic capabilities include dye degradation, air purification, wastewater treatment, and hydrogen generation, all driven by its ability to harness visible light. This review critically examines the factors influencing the photocatalytic performance of BiFeO₃ (BFO) and its doped derivatives. Advances in synthesis techniques, such as sol-gel, hydrothermal, and combustion methods, are discussed concerning particle size, crystallinity, and surface modifications. Key strategies, including rare earth element doping, heterostructure formation, and co-catalyst integration, are explored for their role in enhancing charge separation and light absorption, achieving efficiency improvements of over 90 % in some cases. The mechanistic pathways of photocatalysis, with a focus on electron-hole dynamics and radical generation, are analyzed to provide deeper insights into material performance. Despite its potential, challenges such as limited stability and rapid recombination rates persist. This review identifies critical research gaps and proposes directions for optimizing BFO's design and scalability, reinforcing its relevance as a next-generation photocatalyst for addressing global environmental and energy challenges.

Abstract
In light of environmental and economic concerns, the use of heterogeneous catalysts that can function under gentler reaction conditions has recently become popular. In this study by using the precipitation method, CdS/CeO2/Ag3PO4 ternary nanocomposites with varied molar proportions of CdS:CeO2/Ag3PO4 were produced. The catalysts' surface functional groups; morphology and crystal structures were examined using FTIR, SEM-EDX and XRD respectively. The catalytic efficiency of all synthesized nanomaterials was tested on a model Knoevenagel condensation reaction. For the best catalyst, selected from the screening, the optimization of reaction conditions such as the solvent, catalyst load, concentration of reagents such as malononitrile/acetic anhydride, and temperature. The ternary nanocomposite CdS/CeO2/Ag3PO4 (4:1) displayed higher catalytic activity (95.4 ± 3.2 %) than the rest of the nanomaterials prepared. Thus, the ternary nanocomposite CdS/CeO2/Ag3PO4 with 4:1 mol ratio with optimized reaction conditions was used to check the substrate scope of Knoevenagel condensation and acetylation reaction. The synthesized Knoevenagel condensation and acetylation reaction products were also characterized by proton and carbon NMR for their structure determination. The nanocomposite's reusability was carried out and only 7.5 ± 2 % decrement was witnessed after four runs and 23.3 % after the fifth run. and this indicates the potential application of the catalyst to organic reactions. Furthermore, we have proposed the possible catalytic mechanisms for both organic reactions.

Abstract
The present work was carried out to synthesize bismuth ferrite (BFO) nanoparticles by combustion synthesis, and to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of synthesized bismuth ferrite nanoparticles against cefixime trihydrate. BFO nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using bismuth (III) nitrate and iron (III) nitrate by a combustion synthesis method employing different types of fuels such as maltose, succinic acid, cinnamic acid, and lactose. The effects of the different types of fuels on the morphology and size of the bismuth ferrite nanoparticles were investigated. Characterization of the as-obtained bismuth ferrite nanoparticles was carried out by different techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy-Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), N2-sorption analysis, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. Photoluminescence studies were also carried out for the various bismuth ferrite nanoparticles obtained. Degradation of cefixime trihydrate was investigated under sunlight to evaluate the photocatalytic properties of the bismuth ferrite nanoparticles, and it was found that the bismuth ferrite nanoparticles followed first-order degradation kinetics in solar irradiation in the degradation of antibiotic, cefixime trihydrate.

Abstract
We synthesised materials with different loadings of vanadia on fluorapatite (V2O5/FAp), fully characterised their structural properties using various spectral techniques including TEM, BET, XRD, FT-IR, SEM and EDX and assessed their prowess as catalysts. The 2.5% V2O5/FAp exhibited excellent activity for the synthesis of novel [1,3,4]thiadiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidines and benzo[4,5]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidines. The one-pot three-component fusion reaction between chosen substrates of 1,3,4-thiadiazole-amines or 2-amino-benzothiazole, aldehydes and active methylene compounds in ethanol solvent at room temperature gave an excellent yield of products (90-97%) in a swift reaction (25-30 min). The advantages of this protocol are rapid synthesis, mild reaction conditions, green solvent, easy work-up, eco-friendliness, reusability of catalyst and no need for column chromatography.

Abstract
The studies of advanced materials in environmental remediation and degradation of pollutants is rapidly advancing because of their wide varieties of applications. BiFeO3 (BFO), a perovskite nanomaterial with a rhombohedral R3c space group, is currently receiving tremendous attention in photodegradation of dyes. The photocatalytic activity of BFO nanoparticle is a promising field of research in photocatalysis. BFO nanomaterial is a photocatalyst enhanced by doping because of its reduce bandgap energy (2.0–2.77 eV), multiferroic property, strong photoabsorption and crystal structure. The material has proven to be very useful for the degradation of dyes under visible light irradiation among other photocatalysts. Its exceptional nontoxicity, suitability, low cost and long term excellent stability makes it an efficient photocatalyst for the degradation of effluents from textile and pharmaceutical industries which ended-up in the environment and now a major concern of the modern world. This mini-review attempts to provide some detailed synthetic routes of BFO and BFO related nanomaterials and the notable achievements so far on the effect of doping the material. It also discusses the effect of crystallite size of the material and other photophysical properties and how they influence the photocatalytic process of model organic dye pollutants, to date.

Abstract
Sulfonyl azides have been widely used as sulfonamido, diazo, and azido donors, as well as all-nitrogen 1,3-dipoles donors in synthetic chemistry. Here, the sulfonyl azides were used as efficient sulfonyl donors, which is very unusual. Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid-induced formation of the sulfonyl cation reactive species from sulfonyl azides was developed and used for the first time to couple various inactivated arenes to prepare sulfones at ambient temperature.

Abstract
We present two new synthetic routes for bismuth ferrite harmonic nanoparticles (BiFeO3 HNPs). Both phase-pure and mixed phase BiFeO3 materials were produced after improvement of the solvent evaporation and sol-gel combustion routes. Metal nitrates with a series of dicarboxylic acids (tartronic, tartaric and mucic) were used to promote crystallization. We found that the longer the carbon backbone with a hydroxyl group attached to each carbon, the lower the annealing temperature. We also demonstrate that nanocrystals more readily formed at a given temperature by adding glycerol but to the detriment of phase purity, whereas addition of NaCl in excess with mucic acid promotes the formation of phase-pure, monocrystalline nanoparticles. This effect was possibly associated with a better dispersion of the primary amorphous precursors and formation of intermediate complexes. The nanoparticles have been characterized by XRD, TEM, ζ-potential, photon correlation spectroscopy, two-photon microscopy and Hyper-Rayleigh Scattering measurements. The improved crystallization leads to BiFeO3 HNPs without defect-induced luminescence and with a very high averaged second harmonic efficiency (220 pm/V), almost triple the efficiency previously reported. This development of simple, scalable synthesis routes which yield phase-pure and, crucially, monocrystalline BiFeO3 HNPs demonstrates a significant advance in engineering the properties of nanocrystals for bio-imaging and diagnostics applications.

Abstract
Background: The peracetylation is a simple chemical modification that can be used to enhance the bioavailability of hydrophilic products and to obtain safe and stable pro-drugs. Results: A totally green, solvent-free and catalyst-free microwave (MW)-assisted method for peracetylation of natural products such as oleuropein, alpha-hederin, quercetin and rutin is presented. By simply tuning the MW heating program, polyols with chemical diverse –OH groups or thermolabile functionalities can be peracetylated to improve the biological activity without degradation of the natural starting molecules. An evaluation of the process greenness was performed. Conclusion: The method is potentially universally applicable for green acetylation of hydrophilic biological molecules, potentially easily scalable for industrial applications, including pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industry.

Abstract
The magnetic ZnO/ZnFe2O4 particles have been synthesized by a microwave combustion method using NaAc as fuel. The as-obtained ZnO/ZnFe2O4 was characterized and applied for the removal of methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution in the batch system. The ZnO/ZnFe2O4 particles display larger S(BET) and smaller size with increase of NaAc dosage. Because a certain amount of gas is generated during NaAc decomposing and the gas prevent the particles from growing larger. More interestingly, even at neutral pH value, the ZnO/ZnFe2O4 obtained with 24 mL NaAc shows high-rate adsorption properties with the MB removal efficiency up to 90% in 0.5 min and a maximum adsorption capacity of 37.27 mg/g.

Abstract
Under solvent-free conditions, different alcohols and phenols were efficiently acetylated at room temperature within short time periods by using acetic anhydride in the presence of catalytic quantities of sodium acetate trihydrate, which is a very inexpensive and mild reagent. Thiols were also shown to behave equally well under the same conditions. Chemoselective protection of less hindered alcohols in the presence of bulkier homologues and phenols in the presence of alcohols was achieved using competitive experiments.

Abstract
This review article summarizes the applications of bismuth(III) compounds in organic synthesis since 2002. Although there are an increasing number of reports on applications of bismuth(III) salts in polymerization reactions, and their importance is acknowledged, they are not included in this review. This review is largely organized by the reaction type although some reactions can clearly be placed in multiple sections. While every effort has been made to include all relevant reports in this field, any omission is inadvertent and we apologize in advance for the same (358 references).

Abstract
Nanosized perovskite-type SmFeO3 powder, prepared through the thermal decomposition of Sm[Fe(CN)6].4H2O with an average particle diameter of 28 nm and a specific surface area of 42 m2 g−1, was used as a recyclable heterogeneous catalyst for the efficient and selective reduction of aromatic nitro compounds into the corresponding amines by using propan-2-ol as a hydrogen donor (reducing agent) and KOH as a promoter under microwave irradiation. This highly regio- and chemoselective catalytic method is fast, clean, inexpensive, high yielding and also compatible with the substrates containing easily reducible functional groups. In addition, the nanosized SmFeO3 catalyst can be reused without loss of activity.
