Abstract
The versatile coordinating nature of N,S bidentate ligands is of great importance in medicinal chemistry imparting stability and enhancing biological properties of the metal complexes. Phenylthiocarbamide-based N,S donor Schiff bases converted into RuII /OsII (cymene) complexes and characterized by spectroscopic techniques and elemental analysis. The hydrolytic stability of metal complexes to undergo metal-halide ligand exchange reaction was confirmed both by the DFT and NMR experimentation. The ONIOM (QM/MM) study confirmed the histone protein targeting nature of aqua/hydroxido complex 2 aH with an excellent binding energy of -103.19 kcal/mol. The antiproliferative activity against a panel of cancer cells A549, MCF-7, PC-3, and HepG2 revealed that ruthenium complexes 1 a-3 a were more cytotoxic than osmium complexes and their respective ligands 1-3 as well. Among these ruthenium cymene complex bearing sulfonamide moiety 2 a proved a strong cytotoxic agent and showed excellent correlation of cellular accumulation, lipophilicity, and drug-likeness to the anticancer activity. Moreover, the favorable physiochemical properties such as bioavailability and gastrointestinal absorption of ligand 2 also supported the development of Ru complex 2 a as an orally active anticancer metallodrug.

Abstract
Two bidentate NS ligands were synthesized by the condensation reaction of S-2-methylbenzyldithiocarbazate (S2MBDTC) with 2-methoxybenzaldehyde (2MB) and 3-methoxybenzaldehyde (3MB). The ligands were reacted separately with acetates of Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) yielding 1:2 (metal:ligand) complexes. The metal complexes formed were expected to have a general formula of [M(NS)2] where M = Cu2+, Ni2+, and Zn2+. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and various spectroscopic techniques. The magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectral results supported the predicted coordination geometry in which the Schiff bases behaved as bidentate NS donor ligands coordinating via the azomethine nitrogen and thiolate sulfur. The molecular structures of the isomeric S2M2MBH (1) and S2M3MBH (2) were established by X-ray crystallography to have very similar l-shaped structures. The Schiff bases and their metal complexes were evaluated for their biological activities against estrogen receptor-positive (MCF-7) and estrogen receptor-negative (MDA-MB-231) breast cancer cell lines. Only the Cu(II) complexes showed marked cytotoxicity against the cancer cell lines. Both Schiff bases and other metal complexes were found to be inactive. In concordance with the cytotoxicity studies, the DNA binding studies indicated that Cu(II) complexes have a strong DNA binding affinity.

Abstract
1-Benzoyl-3-(4-methylpyridin-2-yl) thiourea ligand was coordinated with Ni(II) and Co(II) perchlorate salts to isolate complexes. All the prepared compounds are deliberately investigated by all possible spectral tools. A comparative study for IR spectra reveals the neutral bidentate coordinating nature of the ligand towards the two metal ions. The UV/Vis spectra of the complexes display d-d transition bands proposed an octahedral geometry for the complexes. MS analysis data are concerned especially with the base peak which is corresponding to C28H25N6O2S2 M ion. The fragmentation patterns are relatively matched with each others. Electrochemical studies were carried out using platinum wire and Ag/AgNO3 as counter and reference electrodes, respectively. The data reflect the irreversible nature of the electrode couple and showed two successive one electron transfer process. X-ray single crystal studies are used to verifying the octahedral geometry proposed as well as calculating crystal parameters beside the structural refinements.

Abstract
Designing tactics were tailored and followed by synthetic and formulation methodologies to prepare 2,6,11,15-tetraoxa-9,17-diaza-1,7,10,16-(1,2)-tetrabenzenacyclooctadecaphan-8,17-diene. Spectral techniques (MS, infrared, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, electronic and EPR), physiochemical measurements (elemental analysis, molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility), electrochemistry (cyclic voltammetry) and classical mechanics (molecular modeling) were employed for structural elucidation of Co(II) and Mn(II) coordination entities having N2O4 chromophore. Comparative spectral analysis revealed legating nature of N2O4 donor macrocycle and confirmed host/guest connectivity between ligand and metal(s). Mass spectrometry (MS) determined 1:1 stoichiometry in CEs. Further electrochemical study confirmed change in oxidation and reduction patterns of CEs. Inhibiting potential (antifungal screened against Aspergillus flavus) showed enhanced antimicrobial properties of CEs as compared to ligand. Molecular modeling was employed to find out different molecular features along with their stabilization energies.
