Abstract
The increasing incidence of disrupted lactogenesis in Asian populations underscores the importance of timely identification and efficient intervention. This study acknowledges the influence of ethnicity on genetic variations and aims to investigate the genetic mechanisms that contribute to lactogenesis in individuals of Asian descent. This study examines the possibilities of genetic screening as a means of applying preventive measures, with a particular focus on epigenetic techniques. Additionally, the analysis looks into the underlying mechanisms involved in milk production. This review discusses the intricate mechanisms underlying breast milk production and the potential influence of genetic variables on lactogenesis. Specifically, it explores the association between lactogenesis issues and genetic conditions such as depression, obesity, gestational hypertension, and gestational diabetes. These genetic factors could potentially be found by genetic screening as contributors to disruption in lactogenesis. This study aims to promote future investigation in the subject of genetic testing and its potential association with lactogenesis issues, despite the current scarcity of direct research on this topic. The statement posits that the progress made in genetic testing has the potential to provide novel insights into the timely identification and treatment of disrupted lactogenesis.

Abstract
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disorder that causes debilitating functional impairment in patients. Observations from survivors of traumatic historical events solidify that this disease is not only associated with personal experiences but can also be inherited from familial traumas. Over the past decades, researchers have focused on epigenetic inheritance to understand how responses to adverse experiences can be passed down to future generations. This review aims to present recent findings on epigenetic markers related to PTSD and research in the intergenerational inheritance of trauma. By understanding the information, we hope that epigenetic markers can act as biochemical measurements for future clinical practice.

Abstract
Current views of psychological therapies for trauma typically assume the traumatic event to be in the past. Yet, individuals who live in contexts of ongoing organized violence or experience intimate partner violence (IPV) may continue to be (re)exposed to related traumatic events or have realistic fears of their recurrence. This systematic review considers the effectiveness, feasibility, and adaptations of psychological interventions for individuals living with ongoing threat. PsychINFO, MEDLINE, and EMBASE were searched for articles that examined psychological interventions in contexts of ongoing threat of either IPV or organized violence and used trauma-related outcome measures. The search was conducted according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Data on study population, ongoing threat setting and design, intervention components, evaluation methods, and outcomes were extracted, and study quality was assessed using the Mixed-Method Appraisal Tool. Eighteen papers featuring 15 trials were included (12 on organized violence and 3 on IPV). For organized violence, most studies showed moderate to large effects in reducing trauma-related symptoms when compared to waitlists. For IPV, findings were varied. Most studies made adaptations related to culture and ongoing threat and found that providing psychological interventions was feasible. The findings, albeit preliminary with mixed methodological quality, showed psychological treatments can be beneficial and should not be withheld in the context of ongoing organized violence and IPV. Clinical and research recommendations are discussed.

Abstract
Background Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can occur after a traumatic event. PTSD is characterized by nightmares, flashbacks and avoidance of stressors. It currently affects 2-8% of the population, with military personnel particularly susceptible. Studies show that environmental stressors can induce various epigenetic changes that shape the PTSD phenotype. Despite the significant impact of epigenetic factors on PTSD symptoms and susceptibility, they have not been widely discussed in the literature. This review focuses on describing epigenetic mechanisms in PTSD, especially DNA methylation, chromatin regulation, and noncoding RNA. Summary The article includes relevant studies published from 2013 to 2023, excluding non-English-language studies or studies with insufficient data. This review investigated gene methylation changes in association with PTSD, including those related to the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, neurotransmitters, and immune system functioning, as well as the role of histones and regulatory noncoding RNAs. Key Messages Epigenetic alterations play a crucial role in shaping PTSD susceptibility, symptomatology, and long-term outcomes, highlighting their potential as important markers and therapeutic targets. Understanding these alterations can aid in developing clinical strategies to better predict, prevent, and treat PTSD. However, further large-scale longitudinal studies are needed to establish the temporal relationship between epigenetic changes and the onset of PTSD, as well as to classify other potential epigenetic mechanisms.

Abstract
Epigenetic research in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is essential, given that environmental stressors and fear play such a crucial role in its development. As such, it may provide a framework for understanding individual differences in the prevalence of the disorder and in treatment response. This paper reviews the epigenetic markers associated with PTSD and its treatment, including candidate genes and epigenome-wide studies. Because the etiopathogenesis of PTSD rests heavily on learning and memory, we also draw upon animal neuroepigenetic research on the acquisition, update and erasure of fear memory, focusing on the mechanisms associated with memory reconsolidation. Reconsolidation blockade (or impairment) treatment in PTSD has been studied in clinical trials and, from a neurological perspective, may hold promise for identifying epigenetic markers of successful therapy. We conclude this paper by discussing several key considerations and challenges in epigenetic research on PTSD in humans.

Abstract
Psychotherapies aim to relieve patients from mental distress by guiding them toward healthier attitudes and behaviors. Psychotherapies can differ substantially in concepts and approaches. In this review article, we compare the methods and science of three established psychotherapies: Morita Therapy (MT), which is a 100-year-old method established in Japan; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which-worldwide-has become the major psychotherapy; and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a relatively young psychotherapy that shares some characteristics with MT. The neuroscience of psychotherapy as a system is only beginning to be understood, but relatively solid scientific information is available about some of its important aspects such as learning, physical health, and social interactions. On average, psychotherapies work best if combined with pharmacotherapies. This synergy may rely on the drugs helping to "kickstart" the use of neural pathways (behaviors) to which a patient otherwise has poor access. Improved behavior, guided by psychotherapy, can then consolidate these pathways by their continued usage throughout a patient's life.

Abstract
The aftermath of traumatization lives on in the neural and epigenetic traces creating a momentum of affliction in the psychological and social realm. Can psychotherapy reorganise these memories through changes in DNA methylation signatures? Using a randomised controlled parallel group design, we examined methylome-wide changes in saliva samples of 84 female former child soldiers from Eastern DR Congo before and six months after Narrative Exposure Therapy. Treatment predicted differentially methylated positions (DMPs) related to ALCAM, RIPOR2, AFAP1 and MOCOS. In addition, treatment associations overlapped at gene level with baseline clinical and social outcomes. Treatment related DMPs are involved in memory formation-the key agent in trauma focused treatments-and enriched for molecular pathways commonly affected by trauma related disorders. Results were partially replicated in an independent sample of 53 female former child soldiers from Northern Uganda. Our results suggest a molecular impact of psychological treatment in women with war-related childhood trauma.Trial registration: Addressing Heightened Levels of Aggression in Traumatized Offenders With Psychotherapeutic Means (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02992561, 14/12/2016).
