Abstract
The (E)-4-((4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-nitrobenzylidene) amino) pyrimidin-2(1H)-one (C5NV) was synthesized from cytosine and 5-nitrovanilline by simple straightforward condensation reaction. The structural characteristics of the compound was determined and optimized by WB97XD/cc-pVDZ basis set. The vibrational frequencies were computed and subsequently compared to the experimental frequencies. We investiated the electronic properties of the synthesized compound in gas and solvent phases using the time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) approach, and compared them to experimental values. The fluorescence study showed three different wavelengths indicating the nature of the optical material properties. Frontier molecular orbital (FMO) and molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) analyses were conducted for the title compound, and electron localized functions (ELF) and localized orbital locators (LOL) were used to identify the orbital positions of localized and delocalized atoms. Non-covalent interactions (H-bond interactions) were investigated using reduced density gradients (RDGs). The objective of the study was to determine the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the C5NV. The molecular docking study was conducted between C5NV and 2XNF protein, its lowest binding energy score is -7.92 kcal/mol.

Abstract
Sulfate radical (SO4•-)-based advanced oxidation is a viable in situ remediation technology for degrading organic contaminants in the subsurface. In this study, we demonstrated that SO4•- could induce the activation of nitrite, an anion commonly present in the subsurface environment, leading to the formation of nitrophenolic byproducts. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscope and 15N nuclear magnetic resonance analysis revealed that the inorganic nitrite was incorporated into natural organic matter (NOM) to form organic nitrogen upon SO4•- oxidation. Nitrophenolic byproducts, including 2-hydroxy-5-nitrobenzoic acid, 4-nitrophenol, and 2,4-dinitrophenol, were identified using high-resolution mass spectrometry in combination with a 15N labeling technique. Formation of nitrated byproducts was ascribed to the scavenging of SO4•- by nitrite, which not only generated the nitrating agent NO2• but also inhibited the degradation of organic compounds, making them more available to the reactions with NO2•. The phenolic moieties in NOM served as the main reactive sites for NO2• attack. The nitration begins with H abstraction on the phenoxy oxygen, followed by the addition of another NO2• to its ortho or para site. Decarboxylation followed by NO2• addition can also generate nitrophenolic byproducts. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study reporting the nitration of NOM and formation of toxic nitrophenolic byproducts during SO4•--based oxidation. It sheds light on the potential risks of this technology in subsurface remediation practices.

Abstract
Catalytic ozonation is a highly effective method in wastewater treatment, and MnO2 materials are widely recognized as active heterogeneous catalysts in this process. Many works reported the progress in active MnO2 synthesis, but the active phase is rarely systematically studied. In this paper, all six phases of MnO2 (α-, β-, δ-, γ-, λ- and ε-) were synthesized by facile methods. Their catalytic activities in ozonation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) were evaluated and correlated with the physicochemical properties obtained from X-ray Diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), physical adsorption and cyclic voltammetry (CV) analysis. α- MnO2 was found to be the most active catalyst in 4-NP degradation at neutral pH. MnO2 with low average oxidation state (AOS) showed stronger oxidation/reduction peaks in CV characterization, which benefited catalytic decomposition of ozone to generate active species. Superoxide radical was confirmed as the main oxidizing species, along with singlet oxygen and ozone molecule oxidation in bulk solution and little contribution of oxidation on the MnO2 surface. Mn2+ leaching happened during catalytic ozonation, but its catalytic role is negligible. This result may give rise to the preparation of new active MnO2 catalysts.

Abstract
This study represents an integral approach towards understanding the electronic and structural aspects of 1-bromo-2,3-dichlorobenzene (BDCB). The experimental spectral bands were structurally assigned with the theoretical calculation, and the thermodynamic properties of the studied compound were obtained from the theoretically calculated frequencies. The relationship between the structure and absorption spectrum and effects of solvents have been discussed. It turns that the hybrid PBE1PBE functional with 6-311+G(d,p) basis provide reliable λ(max) when solvent effects are included in the model. The NBO analysis reveals that the studied compound presents a structural characteristic of electron-transfer within the compound. The frontier molecular orbitals (HOMO-LUMO) are responsible for the electron polarization and electron-transfer properties. The reactivity sites are identified by mapping the electron density into electrostatic potential surface (MESP). Besides, (13)C and (1)H have been calculated using the gauge-invariant atomic orbital (GIAO) method. The thermodynamic properties at different temperatures were calculated, revealing the correlations between standard heat capacity, standard entropy, standard enthalpy changes and temperatures. Furthermore, the studied compound can be used as a good nonlinear optical material due to the higher value of first hyper polarizability (5.7 times greater than that of urea (0.37289×10(-30) esu)). Finally, it is worth to mentioning that solvent induces a considerable red shift of the absorption maximum going from the gas phase, and a slight blue shift of the transition S(0)→S(1) going from less polar to more polar solvents.

Abstract
The Fourier-transform infrared and FT-Raman spectra of 4-chloro-2-(trifluoromethyl) aniline (4C2TFA) were recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-50 cm(-1) respectively. Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of 4C2TFA were carried out by density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6-311+G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the total dipole moment (μ) and the first order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated compound were computed using B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) calculations. The calculated results also show that 4C2TFA might have microscopic non-linear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of infrared and Raman spectra of 4C2TFA is also reported. The calculated HOMO-LUMO energy gap shows that charge transfer occurs within the molecule.

Abstract
We describe a one-pot four component synthesis of pyranopyroles from aryl aldehydes, ethyl acetoacetate, malononitrile and hydrazine hydrate in the presence of catalytic amounts of an organocatalyst imidazole in water as medium. A plausible mechanism for the formation of imidazole catalyzed pyranopyrazoles has been envisaged. This method is rapid, simple, provides products in good yield, and is eco-friendly. In addition, based on the optimized geometry, the frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of 6-amino-4-(4'-methoxyphenyl)-5-cyano-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1,4-dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole were obtained by the density functional theory (DFT) calculations using 6-31G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and the scaled values have been compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and the calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement.

Abstract
In this work, the vibrational spectral analysis was carried out by using Raman and infrared spectroscopy in the range 100-4000 cm(-1) and 50-4000 cm(-1) respectively, for the title molecules. The molecular structure, fundamental vibrational frequencies and intensity of the vibrational bands are interpreted with the aid of structure optimizations and normal coordinate force field calculations based on Hartee-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) method and different basis sets combination. The complete vibrational assignments of wavenumbers were made on the basis of potential energy distribution (PED). The scaled B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) results show the best agreement with the experimental values over the other methods. The effects due to the substitutions of amino group and halogen bond were investigated. The results of the calculations were applied to simulate spectra of the title compounds, which show excellent agreement with observed spectra.

Abstract
In this work, the experimental and theoretical study on molecular structure and vibrational spectra of 2,4-dichloroaniline (2,4-DCA) were studied. The Fourier transform infrared (gas phase) and Fourier transform Raman spectra of 2,4-DCA were recorded. The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies of 2,4-DCA in the ground state were calculated by using the Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional (DF) methods (BLYP, B3LYP and SVWN) with 6-31G(d,p) as basis set. Comparison of the observed fundamental vibrational frequencies of 2,4-DCA with calculated results by HF and density functional methods indicates that BLYP is superior to other methods for molecular vibrational problems. The difference between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The electric dipole moment (micro) and the first hyperpolarizability (beta) values of the investigated molecule were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The calculated results also show that the 2,4-DCA molecule might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. Natural atomic charges of 2,4-DCA and 4-chloroaniline was calculated and compared. The isotropic chemical shift computed by (13)C NMR analyses also shows good agreement with experimental observations. The theoretically predicted FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of the title molecule have been constructed.

Abstract
In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of 2-chloro-4-methylaniline (2Cl4MA, C(7)H(8)NCl) were studied. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 2Cl4MA in the liquid phase have been recorded in the region 4000-400cm(-1) and 3500-50cm(-1), respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state have been calculated by using Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6-31G(d), 6-31G(d,p), 6-31+G(d,p), 6-31++G(d,p) and 6-311G(d), 6-311G(d,p), 6-311+G(d,p), 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. The vibrational frequencies have been calculated and scaled values have been compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The DFT-B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) calculations have been found more reliable than the ab initio HF/6-311++G(d,p) calculations for the vibrational study of 2Cl4MA. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) were compared with experimental values of aniline and p-methylaniline molecules.
