Abstract
Green solvents (GSs) has gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential as safer and more sustainable alternatives to traditional organic solvents. Solvents are used in a wide range of applications, from industrial processes to everyday products. Solvent emissions and losses can have a significant impact on the environment and human health, which is why many initiatives are being undertaken to get rid of or switch to eco-friendly alternatives. A key area of green chemistry that led to the concept of "green" solvents is the development of alternative solvents that are less toxic and more environmentally friendly than traditional organic solvents. The advantages of using green solvents over conventional ones are their environmental friendliness, biocompatibility, biodegradability, and simplicity of preparation. Different sample preparation techniques have successfully utilized green solvents to offer a sustainable separation media for the extraction of a variety of inorganic and organic compounds which are crucial for research in environmental samples. Recent developments in green analytical chemistry (GAC) have focused on how to prepare and use samples using environmentally sustainable solvents. The current study covers the advance and currently used green solvents with an emphasis on environmentally friendly sample preparation methods. This review aims to briefly summarize the current state of knowledge about the use of green solvents particularly ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents and switchable solvents (SSs) with the perspective of GAC in sample preparation methods.

Nano-sized magnetic Ni particles based dispersive solid-phase extraction of trace Cd before the determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry with slotted quartz tube: a new, accurate, and sensitive quantification method. Abstract
In this study, a new analytical strategy was developed to determine trace cadmium in aqueous samples with high sensitivity and accuracy. A combination of magnetic nickel nanoparticles (Ni-MNPs) based dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) and flame atomic absorption spectrometry fitted with a slotted quartz tube (SQT-FAAS) lowered the detection limit of cadmium. The magnetic Ni nanoparticles were synthesized, characterized, and thoroughly optimized in a stepwise approach. The quartz tube was custom cut in the laboratory to suit the specifics of the flame burner. Using the optimized conditions, a limit of detection value of 0.58 μg/L and limit of quantification value of 1.93 μg/L were obtained. To demonstrate accuracy and applicability of the developed method, well water samples were analyzed for their Cd content, and matrix effect on the extraction yield was investigated. The percent recovery results calculated ranged from 93.8 to 108.2%, with corresponding standard deviation values ranging from 1.7 to 7.7. These results established the developed method as sensitive, accurate, and precise for determination of cadmium at trace levels.

Abstract
Ionic liquids (ILs) comprise mostly of organic salts with negligible vapor pressure and low flammability that are proposed as replacements for volatile solvents. ILs have been promoted as "green" solvents and widely investigated for their various applications. Although the utility of these chemicals is unquestionable, their toxic effects have attracted great attention. In order to manage their potential hazards and design environmentally benign ILs, understanding their environmental behavior, fate and effects is important. In this review, environmentally relevant issues of ILs, including their environmental application, environmental behavior and toxicity are addressed. In addition, also presented are the influence of ILs on the environmental fate and toxicity of other coexisting contaminants, important routes for designing nontoxic ILs and the techniques that might be adopted for the removal of ILs.

Abstract
In this work, ultrasound-assisted cloud point extraction (UA-CPE) and ultrasound-assisted dispersive liquid liquid microextraction (UA-DLLME) were investigated and compared firstly as ultrasound-assisted liquid phase microextraction methods, which were coupled with spectrophotometer for copper preconcentration and detection. Compared to conventional CPE and DLLME, the extraction patterns were changed and improved by the effect of ultrasound. As novel methods, their applications were expanded and the analytical performance of spectrophotometric determination for copper was considerably improved. The influence factors of UA-CPE and UA-DLLME were studied in detail. Under the optimal conditions, the limits of detection (LODs) for copper were 0.7 μg L(-1) of UA-CPE and 0.8 μg L(-1) of UA-DLLME with sensitivity enhancement factors (EFs) of 17 and 16. The developed methods were applied to the determination of trace copper in real water samples with satisfactory analytical results.
