Abstract
PURPOSE Frosted branch angiitis (FBA) is a rare form of retinal vasculitis. Four case series and an extensive literature review of 236 cases were conducted to clarify the characteristics of this rare condition. METHODS Case series and literature review. RESULTS An analysis of the reported cases revealed that a majority (54.6%) developed FBA in the presence of an underlying disease, with recurrence and complications requiring surgical intervention being rare. The frequency of bilateral occurrence (55.0%) and prevalence in female patients (45.0%) were noted to be lower than previously reported. CONCLUSION In general, idiopathic FBAs are more likely to be bilateral and diagnosed at a younger age than secondary FBAs. In idiopathic FBA, fundus involvement is more generalized, exudates tend to be more translucent, and extensive retinal hemorrhage tends to be less frequent. However, there were no differential characteristic fundus features that clearly distinguished idiopathic FBA from secondary FBA.

Abstract
PURPOSE To present a case of frosted branch angiitis associated with an exacerbation of mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD). METHODS Single case report. RESULTS A 31-year-old woman presented with a flare of her long-standing MCTD after a change in her immunosuppressive medications. She developed blurred vision and floaters first in the left eye but eventually in both eyes. Fundoscopy showed patchy perivascular sheathing of tertiary branch venules surrounded by retinal hemorrhages characterized as frosted branch angiitis. The patient's MCTD symptoms and retinal vasculitis improved with continued immunosuppressive therapy. At 1-month follow-up, her visual acuity had improved to 20/20 bilaterally with complete resolution on fundoscopy. CONCLUSION To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of frosted branch angiitis seen in association with MCTD. The improvement in the patient's visual acuity and fundoscopic findings in this case supports the role of immunosuppressive therapy to treat secondary frosted branch angiitis associated with an autoimmune condition such as MCTD. However, it is recommended that a comprehensive medical workup is performed to exclude an infective cause, particularly in immunocompromised patients.

Frosted branch angiitis (FBA) is an uncommon form of severe retinal perivasculitis associated with systemic inflammatory/infectious diseases. In this report, we describe a case of FBA and macular edema as a result of immune recovery response in a patient newly diagnosed with HIV infection and cytomegalovirus viremia.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate predisposing immunosuppressive conditions causing cytomegalovirus retinitis (CMVr) and risk factors for delayed diagnosis in patients diagnosed between 2008 and 2018 in the Swedish population of 10 million. RESULTS Sixty-three consecutive patients (100 eyes) were diagnosed with CMVr. The most common immunosuppressive state predisposing for CMVr was hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients (27%) and hematological malignancy (24%). Two patients (3.2%) had no other predisposing factor than diabetes mellitus (DM). Patients with delayed diagnosis (≤30 days) were older than those with earlier diagnosis, mean age 68.7 (±9.8) and 48.8 (±17.6), respectively, p = .001. Signs of intraocular inflammation (IOI) were seen in 42 (70%) of cases and more common in delayed than early diagnosis, 16 (89%) and 21 (60%) respectively (p = .03). CONCLUSION Delayed diagnosis was more common in older individuals with signs of IOI. DM may be a risk factor for CMVr, and clinical signs can be mistaken for diabetic retinopathy.

Abstract
PURPOSE Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) is an X-linked recessive disease whose optimal curative treatment is hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Patients with WAS may suffer from cytomegalovirus retinitis (CMVR) which can cause vision loss. This study is to report the progression and prognosis of patients with WAS and CMVR. METHODS A retrospective case series of ten patients with WAS and CMVR before and after HSCT who were referred to the Ophthalmology Department of Xinhua Hospital from June 2018 to February 2021. Progression and prognosis were recorded. RESULTS Five patients were diagnosed with CMVR before receiving HSCT at a median age of 10.5 months (range: 4-23 months). Eight patients developed CMVR post-transplantation with a median interval from HSCT of 3.5 months (range: 1-9 months). CONCLUSION Regular fundus examinations and prompt treatments in patients with WAS are therefore crucial before they receiving HSCT or approximately 3.5 months after HSCT until complete reconstitution of immune function.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Frosted branch angiitis (FBA) is a rare phenomenon of panuveitis which may occur secondary to cytomegalovirus (CMV) causing acute visual disturbances. CMV infection is a known complication in allogenic stem cell transplant (SCT) patients but is uncommon following autologous SCT. OBSERVATION We describe a 17-month-old medulloblastoma patient with sudden onset visual impairment following second autologous SCT. The patient was CMV seropositive, polymerase chain reaction negative before second SCT. At the time of presentation with visual complaints, the patient was diagnosed with FBA associated with CMV reactivation. Treatment included antivirals and immunosuppressive medication with visual recovery. CONCLUSION FBA induced by CMV should be considered as a differential diagnosis in pediatric patients undergoing autologous bone marrow transplant with rapidly progressive visual impairment.

Abstract
A 60-year-old Aboriginal man with underlying severe exfoliative dermatitis, treated with oral azathioprine and oral prednisolone, presented with left painful red eye for ten days. On initial presentation, left eye vision was poor at hand motion. There was corneal endotheliitis over the left eye with severe anterior chamber inflammation obscuring the fundus view. B-scan ultrasonography showed evidence of vitritis with a flat retina. An urgent aqueous tap for viral polymerase chain reaction (PCR) yielded positive cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNA results. As CMV infection commonly affects immunosuppressed individuals, his systemic immunosuppressants were withheld temporarily. He was successfully treated with combination intravenous ganciclovir, intravitreal ganciclovir 2mg/0.1ml, and topical ganciclovir 2%. His vision improved significantly from hand motion to 20/40. There was no reactivation of CMV infection post-treatment.

Abstract
Background Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis is a common opportunistic infection in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. The common funduscopic manifestations are haemorrhagic necrotising variety and granular variety. Frosted branch angiitis (FBA), as a special form, when it occurred after antiretroviral therapy(ART), could possibly be associated with immune reconstitution. We report a case of FBA secondary to CMV infection-associated unmasking immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS). Case presentation A 27-year-old man with human immunodeficiency virus infection developed FBA after 35 days of ART. The left Aqueous humour (AqH) tested positive for CMV DNA, and the patient was diagnosed with CMV retinitis. The degree of intraocular inflammation was reflected by increased levels of interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-8 in AqH. After anti-CMV treatment and continuous ART for several months, his FBA and vision significantly improved. CMV DNA became undetectable in the left AqH, and the IL-6 and IL-8 levels in AqH decreased. Conclusion FBA could be a sign of CMV-associated unmasking IRIS. Anti-CMV treatment alone or combination with steroid treatment may be administered, depending on the changes in CMV DNA load and immunologic profile of AqH.

Abstract
Background Frosted branch angiitis (FBA) is an uncommon ocular sign with multiple causes. With the recent outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), many cases of ocular manifestation in association with this disease have been reported. However, as yet we have no complete understanding of this condition. We report here the first case of FBA in a human immunodeficiency virus-infected patient with coexisting cytomegalovirus (CMV) and COVID-19 infection. Case presentation A 33-year-old Malay man with underlying acquired immunodeficiency syndrome receiving highly active antiretroviral therapy was referred to the Opthalmology Department with complaints of blurry vision for the past 2 months. He had tested positive for and been diagnosed with COVID-19 1 month previously. Clinical examination of the fundus revealed extensive perivascular sheathing of both the artery and vein suggestive of FBA in the right eye. Laboratory testing of nasal swabs for COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and serum CMV antibody were positive. The patient was then admitted to the COVID-19 ward and treated with intravenous ganciclovir. Conclusion Clinicians should be aware of and take the necessary standard precautions for possible coexistence of COVID-19 in an immunocompromised patient presenting with blurred vision, eye redness, dry eye and foreign body sensation despite the absence of clinical features suggestive of COVID-19. Whether FBA is one of the ocular signs of co-infection of COVID-19 and CMV remains unknown. Further studies are needed to provide more information on ocular signs presented in patients with concurrent COVID-19 and CMV infections.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare clinical features, complications, and outcomes of CMV retinitis in non-HIV immunocompromised patients with HIV infected patients. METHODS A retrospective study of patients diagnosed with CMV retinitis with or without HIV infection was performed. Results: Thirty-five eyes from 27 patients (median follow up 26 months) were included. Six patients had HIV infection, the others were immunocompromised from a range of causes. The baseline visual acuity (VA) was similar in the two groups. Prevalence of different types of retinitis (fulminant/indolent) was similar in the two groups. Presence of vitreous haze ≥1+ (p = .041), presence of arteritis, (p = .016) and widespread vascular occlusion (p = .003) were more common in the non-HIV group. CONCLUSION CMV retinitis can present with different features depending on the cause of immunocompromise. Evidence of intraocular inflammation such as vitritis, retinal arteritis, and vascular occlusions was more common in HIV-negative subjects.

Abstract
Primary idiopathic myelofibrosis is a clonal disorder arising from the neoplastic transformation of early haematopoietic stem cells leading to abnormal fibrous tissue within bone marrow. We present a 51-year-old man complaining of sudden loss of vision in the right eye along with multiple superficial retinal haemorrhages and perivascular infiltration. Fundus fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography confirmed the diagnosis of inflammatory central retinal vein occlusion with macular oedema which mimicked frosted branch angiitis. Laboratory tests and bone marrow biopsy confirmed underlying systemic disease to be Janus kinase 2 mutation positive primary idiopathic myelofibrosis. He received one intravitreal injection of antivascular endothelial growth factor along with dexamethasone for his ocular condition. In view of his systemic disease, he was started on systemic chemotherapy and oral corticosteroid which helped in stabilising the eye condition.

Abstract
Purpose of review To review the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of cytomegalovirus retinitis (CMVR) in the post-combined antiretroviral era (cART) era. Recent findings Although cART has dramatically reduced CMVR incidence and morbidity in the HIV population, CMVR continues to cause significant vision loss in both HIV and non-HIV patients, especially amongst patients without immune reconstitution. Advances in imaging including ultra-widefield fundus and autofluorescence imaging, optical coherence tomography, and adaptive optics may reflect CMVR activity; however, the diagnosis remains a clinical one. There have been minimal advances in therapy, with several agents no longer available due to market concerns. Summary Despite reduced incidence and morbidity in the post-cART HIV population, CMVR continues to cause vision loss amongst HIV and non-HIV patients. Diagnosis remains primarily clinical, and therapy centers upon immune reconstitution along with systemic and/or intravitreal antivirals. Further studies are necessary to determine whether advanced imaging can influence management, and whether novel antiviral agents or adoptive immune transfer have a role in treatment of drug-resistance CMVR.

Abstract
A case of frosted branch angiitis in an AIDS patient with cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis is reported. The use of PCR techniques for CMV DNA detection in intraocular fluid was helpful in this situation. The appropriate therapy was given promptly due to the timely diagnosis based on this assay.

Abstract
Background “Frosted branch retinal angiitis” is an encompassing term for a rare, typically bilateral diffuse retinal periphlebitis that may occur in a number of varying conditions. To our knowledge, we report the first case of frosted branch angiitis as the presenting sign of antiphospholipid antibody syndrome in a 28-year-old woman. Findings This study is a retrospective case report and literature review. Serial fundus photos, fluorescein angiogram, and ocular coherence tomography taken were before and after treatment, showing resolution of diffuse retinal perivascular sheathing and macular edema along with marked improvement in visual acuity 4 months after the treatment with corticosteroids. Conclusions Frosted branch angiitis can be seen in association with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. Prompt recognition and treatment with corticosteroids may result in good visual prognosis, and long-term immunosuppression and additional anticoagulation may be beneficial to prevent recurrence.

Abstract
Dyskeratosis congenita (DC) is an inherited bone marrow failure syndrome, usually presented with abnormal skin pigmentation, nail dystrophy, and oral leukoplakia. The main cause of mortality in DC is immunodeficiency and vital infection. DC involves multisystem, but retinal involvements are rare.Herein, we report an unusual case of pediatric DC suffering from frosted branch angiitis (FBA) after recovery of mycoplasma pneumonia. Cytomegalovirus infection and cytokine changes were found relevant to the onset of FBA. Despite corticosteroids, antiviral medication, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, the patient ended in poor vision with optic atrophy.This case implies that pediatricians should be aware of FBA as a rare retinal manifestation in children with DC and bone marrow failure. Cytomegalovirus may be one of the common causes and cytokines could be triggering factors.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe a case of frosted branch angiitis secondary to herpes simplex virus type 2 infection that progressed to acute retinal necrosis. METHODS The medical records and clinical photographs were reviewed for a patient with frosted branch angiitis that progressed to acute retinal necrosis. RESULTS The patient rapidly developed acute retinal necrosis followed by rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. Polymerase chain reaction analysis of the vitreous was positive for herpes simplex virus type 2. DISCUSSION Frosted branch angiitis is a clinical sign that may represent active viral disease capable of progressing to acute retinal necrosis.

Abstract
PURPOSE To characterize the clinical manifestations of cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in northern Thailand. DESIGN Prospective, observational, cross-sectional study. METHODS We recorded characteristics of 52 consecutive patients newly diagnosed with CMV retinitis at a tertiary university-based medical center in northern Thailand. Indirect ophthalmoscopy by experienced ophthalmologists was supplemented with fundus photography to determine the proportion of eyes with various clinical features of CMV retinitis. RESULTS Of the 52 patients with CMV retinitis, 55.8% were female. All were HIV-positive. The vast majority (90.4%) had started antiretroviral therapy. CMV retinitis was bilateral in 46.2% of patients. Bilateral visual acuity worse than 20/60 was observed in 23.1% of patients. Of 76 eyes with CMV retinitis, 61.8% had zone I disease and 21.6% had lesions involving the fovea. Lesions larger than 25% of the retinal area were observed in 57.5% of affected eyes. CMV retinitis lesions commonly had marked or severe border opacity (47.4% of eyes). Vitreous haze often was present (46.1% of eyes). Visual impairment was more common in eyes with larger retinitis lesions. Retinitis lesion size, used as a proxy for duration of disease, was associated with fulminant appearance (odds ratio, 1.24; 95% confidence interval, 1.01 to 1.51) and marked or severe border opacity (odds ratio, 1.36; 95% confidence interval, 1.11 to 1.67). Based on lesion size, retinitis preceded antiretroviral treatment in each patient. CONCLUSIONS Patients seeking treatment at a tertiary medical center in northern Thailand had advanced CMV retinitis, possibly because of delayed diagnosis. Earlier screening and treatment of CMV retinitis may limit progression of disease and may prevent visual impairment in this population.

Abstract
Retinal vaculitis is a sight-threatening inflammatory eye condition that involves the retinal vessels. Detection of retinal vasculitis is made clinically, and confirmed with the help of fundus fluorescein angiography. Active vascular disease is characterized by exudates around retinal vessels resulting in white sheathing or cuffing of the affected vessels. In this review, a practical approach to the diagnosis of retinal vasculitis is discussed based on ophthalmoscopic and fundus fluorescein angiographic findings.

Abstract
We report on an 11-year-old boy with frosted branch angiitis in both eyes associated with aseptic meningitis. The patient presented after a severe decrease in vision in both eyes and a 40°C fever. The examination of the fundus of the eyes revealed a diffuse edema of the retina and diffuse bilateral vascular sheathing. The complementary examinations revealed aseptic meningitis. Neither infectious etiologies nor systemic diseases could be confirmed and an inflammatory digestive disease was suspected because of recent diarrhea events responsible for substantial weight loss. A systemic corticotherapy slowly improved the vision in both eyes. After 1 year of medication, visual recovery was full with no sequelae on fundus examination.

Abstract
Retinal vasculitis is a sight-threatening intraocular inflammation affecting the retinal vessels. It may occur as an isolated ocular condition, as a manifestation of infectious or neoplastic disorders, or in association with a systemic inflammatory disease. The search for an underlying etiology should be approached in a multidisciplinary fashion based on a thorough history, review of systems, physical examination, and laboratory evaluation. Discrimination between infectious and noninfectious etiologies of retinal vasculitis is important because their treatment is different. This review is based on recently published articles on retinal vasculitis and deals with its clinical diagnosis, its link with systemic diseases, and its laboratory investigation.

Abstract
An unusual case of CMV retinitis and AIDS who developed immune recovery uveitis (IRU) despite a low CD4+ T cell count achieved during HAART is reported. A 36-year-old female complained of blurred vision in both eyes six months after initiation of anti-CMV retinitis therapy and HAART. Ocular examination revealed a substantial intraocular inflammation causing a dense vitreous haze and frosted branch angiitis. Consecutive CD4+ T cell counts were 20 cells/mm(3) or less and plasma HIV mRNA was undetectable. The laboratory test for Cytomegalovirus was positive whereas those for infections known to cause uveitis were negative. The inflammatory reaction resolved with treatment, but she developed retinal detachment just before she died of pulmonary complications. A review of the literature led us to propose that our patient developed an intraocular inflammation which may probably be a form of IRU and it might be appropriate to employ additional criteria in the definition and the diagnosis of IRU.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Acute idiopathic multifocal hemorrhagic retinal vasculitis is a rare entity. The diagnosis is based on typical fundus findings following exclusion of other more common conditions with similar features. The authors present a case that outlines their approach to diagnosis and management of a patient with simultaneous bilateral presentation. METHOD Retrospective case report. RESULTS This diagnosis often carries a poor prognosis. However, the reported patient did well, with an improvement in vision from light perception in the right eye and hand motions in the left eye at presentation to 20/60 in the right eye and 20/25 in the left eye at 24-month follow-up. Management included intravitreal ganciclovir, oral corticosteroids, panretinal photocoagulation in both eyes, and vitrectomy in one eye. CONCLUSION Patients with acute idiopathic multifocal hemorrhagic choroiditis can exhibit delayed and substantial visual improvement despite initial profound visual loss. The authors discuss this case and review the current understanding of the diagnosis and management of this disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The term 'frosted branch angiitis' was initially used to describe an idiopathic form of vasculitis in association with panuveitis. It has since also been used to describe the angiographic phenomenon of diffuse leakage along retinal vessels against the background of other ocular and systemic diseases. METHODS We describe a 57-year-old male patient with acute bilateral reduction of visual acuity, headaches and absence of any pulse at the temporal arteries. Fluorescence angiography showed bilateral diffuse leakage along all the retinal vessels, which resembled frosted branches. Laboratory parameters and histology were not indicative of vasculitis. Imaging showed complete occlusion of both common carotid arteries and a hypoplastic vertebral artery on the left. CONCLUSIONS Ocular ischemia may imitate primarily inflammatory conditions in its angiographic appearance.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present the first report of a case of primary frosted branch angiitis from the UK and to review the characteristics of this rare disease. Primary frosted branch angiitis causes characteristic florid translucent retinal perivascular sheathing of both arterioles and venules in association with variable uveitis, retinal oedema and visual loss, normally with good recovery. A total of 57 cases have been reported in the world literature. Atypical, typically focal frosted branch angiitis may also occur secondary to other causes of intraocular inflammation, especially cytomegalovirus retinitis. Primary frosted branch angiitis has a characteristic presentation but a variable course, typically affecting children or young adults. The disease is likely to represent a common immune pathway in response to multiple infective agents. The optimal treatment is unclear.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe predominant retinal vasculitis in children carrying human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1). METHODS The authors examined clinical records of patients with HTLV-1-associated uveitis between 1987 and 2001 in Kagoshima University Hospital and reviewed cases of extensive, smoldering retinal vasculitis. RESULTS Three previously healthy teenagers noted mild visual symptoms and presented with extensive sheathing of retinal vessels, complicated by mild anterior segment inflammation. The retinal vascular disease responded poorly to systemic corticosteroids, had a smoldering course with persistent sheathing of retinal vessels, and eventually resulted in diffuse chorioretinal degeneration. Results of laboratory studies were unremarkable except for the presence of serum antibodies to HTLV-1. One patient developed HTLV-1-associated myelopathy 11 years after the onset of ocular disease. CONCLUSIONS The retinal vasculitis differed from the retinal vascular changes commonly seen in HTLV-1-associated uveitis. The authors suggest a clinical disease HTLV-1-associated retinal vasculitis that affects young HTLV-1 carriers, characterized by smoldering retinal vasculitis with ultimate retinal degeneration.

Abstract
PURPOSE In adults with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, frosted branch angiitis is commonly associated with cytomegalovirus retinitis and responds to anti-cytomegalovirus therapy. We describe the first pediatric case of HIV-associated frosted branch angiitis. METHODS Case report. RESULTS A 7-year-old HIV-infected male with frosted branch angiitis was refractory to induction doses of intravenous ganciclovir and foscarnet over a 2-month period. Although cytomegalovirus antigenemia resolved, the angiitis only improved after subsequent treatment with systemic corticosteroids. CONCLUSION Frosted branch angiitis in this patient was not attributed to cytomegalovirus. The pathogenesis of HIV-associated frosted branch angiitis may differ between children and adults.

Abstract
We reported a 5-years old boy with frosted branch angiitis in both eyes. The visual acuities of the two eyes were suddenly lost to 5/50. The fluorescein angiography, electroretinograms (ERGs) and pattern evoked potentials (PVEPs) had been tested at the acute and the recovery stage of the disease. At the onset of the disease, fluorescein angiography showed obvious dye leakage from dilated retinal veins. The PVEPs and whole field ERGs including rod, maximum, OPs and cone responses were seriously decreased and prolonged, indicating that the visual pathway's and retinal functions were greatly damaged. The patient had an excellent response to systemic prednisone. One month after the treatment, the visual acuities recovered to 60/50 in both eyes. The fluorescein angiography showed that leakage from blood vessels was diminished, but the lesions at macula and optic disc were persisted a longer time even to the end of treatment. Through 6 months medication, nearly all of the electrophysiological abnormalities had been resolved.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe the clinical features of a disorder characterized by chronic multifocal retinal infiltrates and uveitis in individuals with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) disease. METHODS We reviewed the medical records of HIV-infected patients with multifocal retinal infiltrates of unknown cause seen by investigators at four institutions. The following data were collected: demographic characteristics, presenting signs and symptoms, laboratory test results, and course of disease. RESULTS We identified 26 HIV-infected patients (50 involved eyes) with this syndrome. Median CD4+ T-lymphocyte count at presentation was 272 per microl (range, 7 to 2,118 per microl). The most common presenting symptom was floaters. Median visual acuity of involved eyes at presentation was 20/20 (range, 20/15 to 20/100) and remained stable (median, 20/20; range, 20/15 to 20/70) after a median follow-up period of 9 months (range, 0 to 110 months). Typical retinal lesions were gray-white or yellow, irregular in shape, and less than 200 microm in greatest dimension. All were located in the midperiphery or anterior retina and enlarged slowly or remained static in size. Mild to moderate anterior chamber or vitreous humor inflammatory cells were present in 47 of 50 eyes (26 of 26 patients). Retinal lesions possibly responded to zidovudine but not to acyclovir or ganciclovir. Anterior chamber and vitreous humor inflammatory reactions responded to topical or periocular injections of corticosteroid. CONCLUSIONS Uveitis with chronic multifocal retinal infiltrates is a distinct clinical entity of unknown cause that occurs in HIV-infected patients. Retinal lesions may respond to antiretroviral therapy. Visual prognosis is good.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe a case of retinal perivasculitis in an immunocompetent patient with systemic herpes simplex infection. METHODS Polymerase chain reaction amplifications were performed for aqueous and blood samples using primers specific for the following members of the herpesvirus family: cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, herpes simplex virus (types 1 and 2), and varicella-zoster virus. The patient was placed on intravenous acyclovir and systemic corticosteroids. RESULTS A positive polymerase chain reaction signal was found only for herpes simplex virus type 1. Vision in the left eye improved from light perception to 20/25, and signs of retinal perivasculitis resolved. CONCLUSION The use of molecular diagnostic modalities in clinical practice may aid in determining infectious etiologies in patients with atypical clinical manifestations.
