Abstract
The reaction of cyclopentaphosphine cyclo-(P5 Ph5 ) (1) with ketones (acetone and cyclooctanone) in the presence of [Mo(CO)4 (cod)] (cod=cycloocta-1,5-diene) led to air-stable trinuclear complexes in which the bis-phosphanido ligands (PPh-PPh-PPh-PPh-CMe2 O-PPh)2- (complex 2) and (PPh-PPh-PPh-PPh-C(CH2 )7 O-PPh)2- (complex 3) bridge a Mo(CO)3 -Mo(CO)3 unit. This extends the reaction of 1 with transition metal carbonyl complexes to further substrates and represents the first examples of insertion of carbonyl compounds into the P-P bond of cyclic oligophosphorus compounds. Complexes 2 and 3 have been characterized by 31 P NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Furthermore, the thermal properties of the obtained complexes have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and fast scanning calorimetry (FSC).

Abstract
The tetradentate azamacrocycle cyclam (=1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) was studied profoundly for the coordination of transition metal ions, and the resulting complexes were investigated extensively for their catalytic performance in, e.g., O2 activation and electrocatalytic CO2 reduction. Although the successful synthesis of analogous P4 macrocycles was described earlier, no tetradentate N,P mixed 14-membered macrocycles have been prepared to date and their chemistry remains elusive. Thus, in this work, we showcase the synthesis of phospha-aza mixed cyclam-based macrocycles by selectively "exchanging" one or two secondary amines in the macrocycle isocyclam (=1,4,7,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane) with tertiary phosphines. In addition, we herein present the preparation of the corresponding nickel complexes along with their complex chemical and structural characterization to provide first coordination studies.

Abstract
The reaction of Ph2PCH2OH with PhPCl2 and PCl3 in the presence of Et3N afforded new phosphonite compounds PhP(OCH2PPh2)21 and P(OCH2PPh2)32, respectively. The reaction between 1 and [NiCl2(DME)] in dichloromethane gave the five-coordinate complex [NiCl2(1-κ3 P,P,P)] 3. Conversely, 1 reacts with [NiCl2(DME)] in the presence of NH4PF6 in dichloromethane to yield the four coordinate ionic complex [NiCl(1-κ3 P,P,P)][PF6] 4. The reactions between 1, [NiCl2(DME)] and KPF6 in the presence of RNC (R = Xylyl, t Bu and iPr) in dichloromethane yielded the five coordinate monocationic [NiCl(1-κ3 P,P,P)(RNC)][PF6] (R = Xylyl) and dicationic [Ni(1-κ3 P,P,P)(RNC)2][PF6]2 (R = t Bu and iPr) complexes, respectively. The analogous reaction of 2 with [NiCl2(DME)] in the presence of KPF6 gave complex [NiCl(2-κ4 P,P,P,P)][PF6], 8. The structures of all complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies and supported by spectroscopic methods. To demonstrate their catalytic application, N-alkylation reactions between primary aryl amines, benzyl and 4-methoxy benzyl alcohols were found to proceed smoothly in the presence of 2.5 mol% of complexes bearing ligand 1 and <0.5 mmol of KOBu t in toluene at 140 °C. The C-N coupled products were formed in very good yields. Its substrate scope includes sterically encumbered, heterocyclic amines and aliphatic alcohol.

Abstract
The complex cation of the title compound, [NiCl{P(C6H4-2-S-i-Pr)3}](CF3SO3), has a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry in which three S atoms are located in the equatorial plane, and one P and one Cl atom in the apical positions. In the cation, there are two intra-molecular C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, there are some inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds formed between the cation and the anion. The tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonate anion and one of the methyl groups are both disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.629 (17):0.371 (17) and 0.786 (14):0.214 (14), respectively.

Abstract
We report the coordination chemistry of indole based tripodal tetraphosphine ligands to iron(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II). These complexes are formed by simple synthetic protocols and were characterized by a combination of spectroscopic techniques and single-crystal X-ray analysis. The molecular structures as determined by X-ray diffraction show that the geometry of the nickel and cobalt complexes are distorted trigonal bipyramidal. The monocationic iron(II) complexes also have distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries, but the dicationic analogue has an octahedral geometry. Two-electron reduction of the cobalt(+II) and the nickel(+II) complexes in the presence of N2 did not lead to the coordination of N2. In contrast, two-electron reduction of the iron(+II) complexes did lead to coordination of dinitrogen to the iron center. The Fe0N2L1H complex has a trigonal bipyramidal geometry, and the N-N bond length of the coordinated dinitrogen ligand is longer than that of free dinitrogen, indicating that coordination to this iron(0) complex results in activation of the N≡N bond.

Abstract
The aim of this review is to highlight how the diversity generated by N-substitution in the well-known short-bite ligand bis(diphenylphosphino)amine (DPPA) allows a fine-tuning of the ligand properties and offers a considerable scope for tailoring the properties and applications of their corresponding metal complexes. The various N-substituents include nitrogen-, oxygen-, phosphorus-, sulfur-, halogen-, and silicon-based functionalities and directly N-bound metals. Multiple DPPA-type ligands linked through an organic spacer and N-functionalized DRPA-type ligands, in which the PPh2 substituents are replaced by PR2 (R = alkyl, benzyl) groups, are also discussed. Owing to the considerable diversity of N-functionalized DPPA-type ligands available, the applications of their mono- and polynuclear metal complexes are very diverse and range from homogeneous catalysis with well-defined or in situ generated (pre)catalysts to heterogeneous catalysis and materials science. In particular, sustained interest for DPPA-type ligands has been motivated, at least in part, by their ability to promote selective ethylene tri- or tetramerization in combination with chromium. Ligands and metal complexes where the N-substituent is a pure hydrocarbon group (as opposed to N-functionalization) are outside the scope of this review. However, when possible, a comparison between the catalytic performances of N-functionalized systems with those of their N-substituted analogs will be provided.

Abstract
The coordination of two heterofunctional P,P,S ligands of the N-functionalized DPPA-type bearing an alkylthioether or arylthioether N-substituent, (Ph2P)2N(CH2)3SMe (1) and (Ph2P)2N(p-C6H4)SMe (2), respectively, toward cobalt dichloride was investigated to examine the influence of the linker between the PNP nitrogen and the S atoms. The complexes [CoCl2(1)]2 (3) and [CoCl2(2)]2 (4) have been isolated, and 3 was shown by X-ray diffraction to be a unique dinuclear, zwitterion containing one CoCl moiety bis-chelated by two ligands 1 and one CoCl3 fragment coordinated by the S atom of a thioether function. The FT-IR, UV-vis, and EPR spectroscopic features of 3 were analyzed as the superposition of those of constitutive fragments identified by a retrosynthetic-type analysis. A similar approach provided insight into the nature of 4 for which no X-ray diffraction data could be obtained. A comparison between the spectroscopic features of 4 and of its constitutive fragments, [CoCl(2)2]PF6 (7) and [H2']2[CoCl4] (8) (2' = NH2(p-C6H4)SMe), and between those of 4 and 3 suggested that 4 could either have a zwitterionic structure, similar to that of 3, or contain a tetrahedral dicationic bis-chelated Co center associated with a CoCl4 dianion. Magnetic and EPR studies and theoretical calculations were performed. Doublet spin states were found for the pentacoordinated complexes [CoCl(1)2]PF6 (5) and 7 and anisotropic quadruplet spin states for the tetrahedral complexes [CoCl3(H1')] (6) (1' = NH2(CH2)3SMe) and 8. A very similar behavior was observed for 3 and 4, consisting in the juxtaposition of noninteracting doublet and quadruplet spin states. Antiferromagnetic interactions explain the formation of dimers for 6 and of layers for 8. The EPR signatures of 3 and 4 correspond to the superposition of low-spin nuclei in 5 and 7 and high-spin nuclei in 6 and 8, respectively. From DFT calculations, the solid-state structure of 4 appears best described as zwitterionic, with a low-spin state for the Co1 atom.

Abstract
Two new mixed-ligand copper(II) complexes, [Cu(dipn)(NN)]Br2(1-2) [dipn=dipropylenetriamine, NN=ethylenediamine (en) (1) and propylenediamine (pn) (2)], have been synthesized. These complexes were characterized by spectroscopic and thermal techniques. Crystal structure for 2 shows a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry around Cu(II) ion with one solvate water molecule. Antimicrobial and antiproliferative assays were conducted to evaluate the biological activities of these complexes. The complexes exhibit a promising antimicrobial effect against an array of microbes at 200μg/mL concentration. The antiproliferative assay shows a high potential of these complexes to target Human keratinocyte cell line with IC50 values of 155 and 152μM. The absorption spectrum of 2 in water was modeled by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT).

Abstract
The new metalloligand ferrocenylbis(phosphonite), [Fe(C5H4PR2)2 (R = OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))], (2), is synthesized by the reaction of bis(dichlorophosphino)ferrocene Fe(C5H4PCl2)2 (1) with 4-allyl-2-methoxyphenol. The reactions of 2 with H2O2 and elemental sulfur or selenium afforded bischalcogenides, [Fe{C5H4P(E)(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2] (3, E = O; 4, E = S; 5, E = Se), in good yield. The bis(phosphonite) reacts with group 6 metal carbonyls and group 10 metal dichloride precursors to produce the chelate complexes [{M(CO)4}Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2}] (6, M = Mo; 7, M = W) and [(MCl2)Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2] (8, M = Pd; 9, M = Pt). The palladium(ii) complex [(PdCl2)Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2] (8) is an efficient catalyst for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions (TON up to 1.5 × 10(5)). The reaction of 2 with one equivalent of [RuCl2(η(6)-p-cymene)]2 yielded the binuclear complex [{Ru2Cl4(η(6)-p-cymene)2}Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2] (12) in good yield. Treatment of 2 with copper chloride in a 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 molar ratio resulted in the formation of a binuclear complex, [{(CuCl)Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2}2] (13), whereas a similar reaction of 2 with CuBr and CuI in a 1:2 or 1:2.5 molar ratio yielded the novel butterfly-like deca-nuclear complexes [Cu5(μ-X)5{Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2}2]2 (14, X = Br; 15, X = I). The reaction of 2 with two equivalents of [AuCl(SMe2)] afforded the digold complex [(AuCl)2Fe{C5H4P(OC6H3(OMe-o)(C3H5-p))2}2] (16), with the ligand exhibiting bridged-bidentate mode of coordination. Additionally, some complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The crystal structures of complexes 8, 9, 12, 15 and 16 were determined using X-ray diffraction studies.

Abstract
The synthesis and characterization by elemental analysis, emission atomic spectroscopy, TG measurements, magnetic measurements, FTIR, (1)H NMR, UV-visible spectra and conductivity of a series of iron (II) and nickel (II) complexes with two heterocyclic ligands (L(1)(SMX): sulfamethoxazole and L(2)(MIZ): metronidazole) used in pharmaceutical field and with a new ligand derived benzoxazole (L(3)(MPBO): 2-(5-methylpyridine-2-yl)benzoxazole), were reported. The formulae obtained for the complexes are: [M(L(1))2 Cl2]·nH2O, [M(L(2))2Cl2(H2O)2]·H2O and [M(L(3))2(OH)2]·nH2O. Stability constants of these complexes have been determined by potentiometric methods in water-ethanol (90:10, v/v) mixture at a 0.2 mol L(-1) ionic strength (NaCl) and at 25.0±0.1 °C. Sirko program was used to determine the protonation constants as well as the binding constants of three species [ML2H2](2+), [ML2] and [ML](2+). The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and complexes was evaluated in vitro against different human bacteria and fungi using agar diffusion method. Iron sulfamethoxazole complex showed a remarkable inhibition of bacteria growth especially on Staphylococcus aureus and P. aeruginosa. The iron metronidazole complex is active against yeasts especially on Candida tropicalis strain. Nickel complexes presented different antibacterial and antifungal behavior's against bacteria and fungal. The acute toxicity study revealed that the iron complexes are not toxic at 2000 mg/kg dose orally administrated. LD50 for nickel complexes was determined using graphical method. No significant differences in the body weights between the control and the treated groups of both rat sexes in subacute toxicity study using for iron complexes. Hematological and clinical blood chemistry analysis revealed no toxicity effects of the iron complexes. Pathologically, neither gross abnormalities nor histopathological changes were observed for these complexes.

Abstract
A novel dodecachlorohexaphosphane, 1,3,5-C(6)H(3)[p-C(6)H(4)N(PCl(2))(2)](3) (1) was synthesized by reacting 1,3,5-tris(4'-anilino)benzene with phosphorus trichloride. Fluorination of 1 with SbF(3) produces 1,3,5-C(6)H(3)[p-C(6)H(4)N(PF(2))(2)](3) (2). The derivatization of chlorohexaphosphane with an aryloxy substituent and its palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes are also described.
