Abstract
We describe the development of a strategy for the construction of the quaternary carbon stereocenter of α-tertiary amines. This strategy highlights a site-selective C-H functionalization involving an alkoxy-radical-triggered 1,5-hydrogen transfer (1,5-HAT) reaction of a conformationally fixed spiro-compound derived from trishydroxymethylaminomethane (Tris). The utilization of this strategy enabled an enantioselective total synthesis of myriocin, a naturally occurring sphingosine analog that displays potent immunosuppressive activity.

Abstract
A highly enantioselective synthesis of 1,3-butadien-2-ylcarbinols is achieved by using the TBOxCr(III)Cl catalyst and homoallenylbromide 1. This method can be further extended to the enantio- and regioselective propargylation of aldehydes.

The enantioselective synthesis of bistramide A has been achieved with a longest linear sequence of 18 steps. The synthetic strategy involves the use of a distereoselective glycolate alkylation, an aldol addition of a chlorotitanium enolate of N-acylthiazolidinthione, and a Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation to synthesize the three key fragments.

The axially chiral (allenylmethyl)silanes were prepared from (3-bromopenta-2,4-dienyl)trimethylsilane by a Pd-catalyzed asymmetric reaction with soft nucleophiles with up to 88% enantioselectivity. The (allenylmethyl)silanes reacted with acetals in the presence of a TiCl(4) promoter to give 1,3-diene derivatives via an S(E)' pathway. The 1,3-dienyl products have (E)-geometry exclusively and up to 88%( )()chirality transfer from the axially chiral allenes to the centrally chiral 1,3-dienes was observed in the S(E)' reaction.

Abstract
Substituted propargylic esters, resistant to complete ethylene cross-metathesis at ambient pressure, underwent cross-metathesis with ethylene at elevated pressure (4 atm) to give 2-substituted butadienes in good to excellent yields. Enantioenriched propargylic acetates, obtained through enzymatic kinetic resolution of secondary propargyl alcohols, similarly underwent ethylene metathesis with retention of stereochemistry at the chiral center.

Abstract
Heating a mixture of alpha-aryl ketone with (R)-phenylglycinol produces a mixture of imine and 1,3-dioxazolidine. Treatment of this mixture with trimethylsilyl cyanide followed by transformation of nitrile to ester gives Strecker-type reaction products. The diastereoselectivity of the generated alpha-amino esters is from 2/1 to 7/1, and the (R,S)isomer is found as the major product. The (R,S) and (R,R)isomers can be separated by conversion to their N-Cbz or cyclization derivatives. Using this methodology, four antagonists of metabotropic glutamate receptors, (S)-alphaM4CPG, (S)-MPPG, (S)-AIDA, and (S)-APICA, are synthesized.
