Rapid Detection of Dezocine in Biological Fluids Based on SERS Technology

This paper describes a method based on surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technology for rapid detection of dezocine in urine and serum. Firstly, an Ag colloid substrate was prepared and characterized. Then the Raman characteristic peaks of dezocine were assigned from both theoretical and experimental aspects. Finally, the Raman peak at 661 cm^-1 was selected as its characteristic peak to perform SERS detection on dezocine in urine and serum, and the detection limits of dezocine in urine and serum were determined. The relationships between the characteristic peak intensity and the concentration of dezocine in urine and serum were fitted and the recovery rates were calculated. This rapid, accurate and non-destructive method establishes a good foundation for rapid on-site detection of dezocine in biological samples.

The effect of food on ciramadol bioavailability in normal subjects

Eleven healthy volunteers completed a study to compare the relative bioavailability to orally administered ciramadol in a fasting versus postprandial state. A single oral dose of 30 mg of ciramadol was administered on two separate occasions, 2 weeks apart, in a randomized crossover study. A mono- or biexponential pharmacokinetic equation with first-order absorption was applied to analyse the serum data for each subject. Significant differences were found in peak time (tmax) and absorption time (tabs) whereas the mean AUCs for the two modes of administration were not significantly different. The relative bioavailability (F) of the drug when administered in the postprandial state with respect to the fasting state was 96 per cent. It is thus concluded that ingestion of food has no effect on the extent of absorption of ciramadol; however, food may alter its rate of absorption.

Drug assays--the role of modern voltammetric techniques

Modern voltammetric techniques, e.g. differential pulse polarography and voltammetry, anodic/cathodic stripping voltammetry and electrochemical detection for high performance liquid chromatography or flow injection analysis, are reviewed with respect to their basic theory, design and usage of available instrumentation and applications to drug assays in formulation and body fluid matrices.

Pharmacokinetics of dezocine, a new analgesic: effect of dose and route of administration

The pharmacokinetics of intravenous (IV) dezocine, and bioavailability of intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SQ) dezocine, were evaluated in healthy male volunteers. Elimination half-life following 5, 10, and 20 mg IV doses averaged 2.6-2.8 h, and was independent of dose. Clearance decreased slightly, although significantly, with dose. After Deltoid IM injection, dezocine was rapidly absorbed (peak level: 0.6 h after dose), with bioavailability 97%. Thus dezocine has extensive distribution, high clearance and short half-life over a range of IV doses. It is rapidly and completely absorbed following IM or SQ administration.
