Abstract
Budesonide (BDS) a steroid-based anti-inflammatory drug widely prescribed for various diseases, has a low aqueous solubility. In this study, we investigated cosolvency approach to study the thermodynamic specifications related to the solubility of BDS at the temperature range of 293.2-313.2 K in (1-propanol + water) mixtures applying the shaking flask method. The predictive power of different mathematical models for experimental data in the cosolvency systems was evaluated. For this purpose, the linear and nonlinear mathematical equations such as van't Hoff model (as a linear model), Buchowski-Ksiazczak equation (as a non-linear), CNIBS/R-K and MRS models (as a linear model for solvent composition at an isothermal condition), modified Wilson model (as a non-linear model for isothermal condition), the Jouyban-Acree model (as a model that considers temperature and solvent composition), and Jouyban-Acree-van't Hoff model (as a model with no further input data) were studied. Also, the Williams-Amidon excess Gibbs energy model was investigated. In addition, the related apparent thermodynamics of the BDS dissolution process in the desired temperature such as Gibbs free energy, enthalpy, and entropy, were computed by the corresponding equations. Moreover, based on the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals, it is demonstrated that BDS is preferentially solvated by water in water-rich mixtures. The accuracy of the fitness was evaluated with mean relative deviations (MRDs%) for back-calculated molar BDS solubility data. The result showed that the maximum solubility of BDS was obtained at 0.7 mass fraction of 1-propanol at all temperatures. Thermodynamic studies demonstrated that BDS dissolution procedures were obtained as endothermic and entropy-driven in almost all cases. The overall MRDs% values for the back-computed BDS solubility in the aqueous mixture of 1-propanol based on van't Hoff model, Buchowski-Ksiazczak equation, CNIBS/R-K model, modified Wilson model, Jouyban-Acree model, Jouyban-Acree-van't Hoff model, MRS model, and Williams-Amidon excess Gibbs energy model were found 1.93%, 1.80%, 11.68%, 33.32%, 12.30%, 9.24%, 10.70%, and 6.57%, respectively.

Abstract
The development of pharmaceutical formulations and the optimisation of drug synthesis are not possible without knowledge of thermodynamics. At the same time, the quantity and quality of the available data is not at a level that meets modern requirements. A convenient diagnostic approach is desirable to assess the quality of available experimental thermodynamic data of drugs. A comprehensive set of available data on phase transitions of profens family drugs was analysed using new complementary measurements and structure-property correlations. The consistent sets of solid-gas, liquid-gas and solid-liquid phase transitions were evaluated for twelve active pharmaceutical ingredients based on alkanoic acid derivatives and recommended for the calculations of the pharmaceutical processes. A "centerpiece approach" proposed in this work helped to perform the "health check" of the thermochemical data. The evaluated data on the sublimation enthalpies were used to derive the crystal lattice energies of the profens and to correlate the water solubilities with the sublimation vapour pressures and molecular parameters. A "paper-and-pen" approach proposed in this work can be extended to the diagnosis of "sick" or "healthy" thermodynamic data for drugs with a different structure than those studied in this work.

Abstract
This study aimed to measure both the solubility and thermodynamics of salicylic acid in binary solvent mixtures of (2-propanol + ethylene glycol) and (2-propanol + propylene glycol) at different temperatures in the range of 293.2-313.2 K. The experimental solubility data were analyzed using various linear and nonlinear cosolvency models, such as the van'tt Hoff, Jouyban-Acree, Jouyban-Acree-van'tt Hoff, mixture response surface and modified Wilson models and to evaluate the models, the mean relative deviations of the back-calculated solubility data were compared with experimental values. Through this analysis, the apparent thermodynamic parameters, including Gibbs energy, enthalpy, and entropy were calculated using the van'tt Hoff and Gibbs equations for this system. Additionally, the density values for salicylic acid saturated mixtures were also measured and represent mathematically using the Jouyban-Acree model.

Abstract
Cytidine is an important kind of nucleoside that can be applied to drug development and food industry. Cytidine sulfate is one of its popular forms, which is promising as a medicinal intermediate, especially in antiviral and antitumor drugs. Product refining is the key point of industrial development, and crystallization is a significant way of refining. In this work, the solubility of cytidine sulfate in pure water from 278.15 to 328.15 K and in water-ethanol binary solvents at 298.15 K was measured by the UV spectroscopic method. The solubility data were correlated with temperature and solvent composition using the modified Apelblat, van't Hoff, and CNIBS/R-K equations. On this basis, we investigated and compared three crystallization processes, and the coupling method was developed to prepare crystals with a large particle size, concentrated distribution, and high yield and packing density. In addition, the structure and stability of the products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and dynamic vapor sorption analysis. It was found that cytidine sulfate has only one crystal form in our research process, and the product of coupling crystallization is stable and favorable for industrial development.

Abstract
This investigation dealt with the thermodynamic properties, saturated solubility values, and solvation behavior of deferiprone as an oral iron chelator agent in non-aqueous mixtures of propylene glycol and 2-propanol using experimental measurements and mathematical correlations. The solubility of deferiprone demonstrated a positive correlation with both temperature and propylene glycol mass fraction. Four mathematical models were employed to correlate the solid-liquid equilibrium data, and the low mean relative deviation values of less than 3.6% illustrate the good agreement of computed data with the experimental data. The apparent thermodynamic behavior of deferiprone dissolution was also investigated according to van't Hoff and Gibbs equation.

Abstract
Mesalazine is a low-permeable and low-soluble drug, which makes it a class IV drug in the Biopharmaceutics Classification System. Hence, its solubilization can be helpful for various stages of formulation development. The purpose of this study was to investigate the solubilization manner and thermodynamics of mesalazine in ternary solvent combinations of {ethanol (1) + propylene glycol (2) + water (3)} using the shake-flask technique at (298.2-313.2) K. In the following, the mathematical representation of the acquired solubility data using some popular models was evaluated. The accuracies of the applied models were described by percentages of mean relative deviation (MRD%). Based on obtained results (MRD% < 10.0), it can be concluded that the trained models can adequately predict the solubility of mesalazine in the investigated ternary solvent combinations. The findings also revealed that the solution composition and temperatures greatly influence the solubility of mesalazine. In addition, the thermodynamic characteristics of the mesalazine dissolution process indicate that the mesalazine dissolution process is endothermic and entropy-driven. The generating data in the current work also expands the available solubility database for mesalazine in the solvent mixtures.

Abstract
A wide set of well-known drugs, most of them included in the Abraham´s reference database, covering a wide variety of chemical structures and therapeutical functionalities were chosen in order to determine some molecular properties from solvent/water partition measurements. Partition data from aqueous solutions and four different solvents (n-dodecane, toluene, chloroform and n-octanol) were measured and reported. From them, Abraham´s molecular descriptors of selected compounds (A, B and S, accounting for hydrogen bond donor, hydrogen bond acceptor and dipolarity/polaritzability, respectively) were estimated. A and B values derived from the experimental measurements strongly agree with the tabulated ones showing the suitability of the used procedure to achieve reliable values for new molecules. However, obtained S values differ from those previously reported for several compounds. Moreover, values for a new indicator of the propensity to form intramolecular hydrogen bonds (Δlog Poct-tol) were estimated from the experimental data and also calculated according to both, the Abraham´s model and the molecular structures (SMD). The quality of both series of calculated descriptors was evaluated by contrast with the experimental values and satisfactory results were obtained in both instances. Thus, the Abraham´s way is useful when molecular descriptors are available but very good estimations can be achieved by SMD, which only requires the drug´s molecular structure.

Abstract
The solubility profile of codeine phosphate in the carbitol and 2-propanol mixtures at 293.2-313.2 K are determined and correlated with some developed cosolvency models. Moreover, the density values of codeine phosphate saturated solutions are also determined and fitted with the Jouyban-Acree model. The model accuracy is investigated by calculating the mean relative deviations (MRDs%). The thermodynamic parameters of codeine phosphate dissolution in the non-aqueous mixtures of carbitol and 2-propanol are also computed by using van't Hoff and Gibbs equations.
