Abstract
A series of spiropyranone 3-aryl-4-methylcoumarin derivatives have been synthesized from
monospiro-2-hydroxy acetophenone in a novel and efficient green method using imidazolyl
intermediates and inorganic base. Imidazolyl intermediates were in turn generated by grinding the respective phenylacetic acid along with carbonyldiimidazole (CDI). Similarly, monospiro-2-hydroxy acetophenone derivatives were prepared selectively by avoiding formation of bis derivatives following literature procedure. The titled compounds were purified by preparative TLC technique and were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR as well as mass spectral methods

Abstract
A series of 1-(3,4-dihydro-3-oxo-2H-1,4-benzoxazine-2-carbonyl)-3-methyl-4-(substituted phenylhydrazono)-2-pyrazolin-5-ones have been synthesized by the reaction of 2H-3,4-dihydro-3-oxo-1,4-benzoxazine-2-carboxylic acid hydrazide with substituted acetoacetic ester derivatives using acetic acid as solvent under microwave irradiation (MWI), as well as by conventional methods. The reaction rate is enhanced tremendously and the yields are improved under MWI as compared to conventional methods.

Abstract
Capabilities of lipases from Candida antarctica, Candida rugosa and porcine pancreas have been evaluated for regioselective acetylation of 2-phenyl-4-(D-arabino-tetrahydroxybutyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole, 2-phenyl-4-(D-arabino-O-1',2'-isopropylidene-3',4'-dihydroxybutyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole and 2-phenyl-4-(D-threo-trihydroxypropyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole, precursors for the synthesis of triazolylacyclonucleosides. C. antarctica lipase and porcine pancreatic lipase exhibited exclusive selectivity for the acetylation of primary hydroxyl group over secondary hydroxyl group(s) in all the three cases.
