Abstract
The accurate monitoring of pesticide residues in agricultural products is critical for maintaining food quality and human health. The development of innovative analysis techniques capable of satisfying the stringent demands of practical applications is the key to building intelligent and highly-efficient pesticide detection equipment. Here, an ultrasensitive electrochemical biosensor has been reported, which utilizes quinary PtPdRhFeCu high-entropy alloy mesoporous nanotubes (PtPdRhFeCu HEA mNTs) and N/Cu dual-atom anchored ZnSe@C (N-Cu-ZnSe@C) as electrode materials. Multi-effect coupling (defect effect, high entropy effect, lattice distortion effect and doping effect), endows the proposed sensing interface with extremely high electronic conductive properties and unprecedentedly large electroactive surface area, which could heavily promote the charge transfer capability, meanwhile assists the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) with high affinity towards its substrate, thereby significantly improving the pesticide analysis performance of the sensor. Remarkably, the detection limit of this assembled biosensor for aldicarb sulfone and methamidophos detection are notably low at 2.32 fM and 4.58 fM, respectively. Moreover, this biosensor demonstrated wide detection ranges (7 pM ∼ 70 nM for methamidophos and 1 pM ∼ 0.1 μM for aldicarb sulfone), high sensitivity and specificity, along with good recovery rates (86.67 % ∼ 117.14 %) in real samples. This signal amplification strategy enhances the analysis capability by integrating multiple effects, and provides an innovative analysis tool for hazardous substance analysis in food safety and environmental monitoring research.

Abstract
The widespread use of pesticides that are inevitable to keep the production of food grains brings serious environmental pollution problems. Turning agricultural biomass/wastes into materials addressing the issues of pesticide contaminants is a feasible strategy to realize the reuse of wastes. Several works summarized the current applications of agricultural biomass/waste materials in the remediation of environmental pollutants. However, few studies systematically take the pesticides as an unitary target pollutant. This critical review comprehensively described the remediation effects of crop-derived waste (cereal crops, cash crops) and animal-derived waste materials on pesticide pollution. Adsorption is considered a superior and highlighted effect between pesticides and materials. The review generalized the sources, preparation, characterization, condition optimization, removal efficiency and influencing factors analysis of agricultural biomass/waste materials. Our work mainly emphasized the promising results in lab experiments, which helps to clarify the current application status of these materials in the field of pesticide remediation. In the meantime, rigorous pros and cons of the materials guide to understand the research trends more comprehensively. Overall, we hope to achieve a large-scale use of agricultural biomass/wastes.

Abstract
The extensive use of sulfonylurea herbicides has raised major concerns regarding their long-term soil residues and agroecological risks despite their role in agricultural protection. Microbial degradation is an important approach to remove sulfonylureas, whereas understanding the associated biodegradation mechanisms, enzymes, and physiological responses remains incomplete. Based on the rapid biodegradation of nicosulfuron by typical fungal isolate Talaromyces flavus LZM1, the dependency on cellular accumulation and environmental conditions, e.g. pH and nutrient supplies, was shown in the study. The biodegradation of nicosulfuron occurred intracellularly and followed the cascade of reactions including hydrolysis, Smile contraction rearrangement, hydroxylation, and opening of the pyrimidine ring. Besides 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine (ADMP) and 2-aminosulfonyl-N,N-dimethylnicotinamide (ASDM), numerous products and intermediates were newly identified and the structural forms of methoxypyrimidine and sulfonylurea bridge contraction rearrangement are predicted to be more toxic than nicosulfuron. The biodegradation should be enzymatically regulated by glycosylphosphatidylinositol transaminase (GPI-T) and P450s, which were manifested with the significant upregulation in proteomics. It is the first time that the hydrolysis of nicosulfuron into ADMP and ASDM have been associated with GPI-T. The integrated pathways of biodegradation were further elucidated through the involvement of various active enzymes. Except for the enzymatic catalysis, the physiological responses verified by metabolo-proteomics were critical not only to regulate material synthesis, uptake, utilization, and energy transfer but also to maintain antioxidant homeostasis, biodegradability, and tolerance of nicosulfuron by the differentially expressed metabolites, such as acetolactate synthase and 3-isopropylmalate dehydratase. The obtained results would help understand the biodegradation mechanism of sulfonylurea from chemicobiology and enzymology and promote the use of fungal biodegradation in pollution rehabilitation.

Abstract
Climate change is a global problem facing all aspects of the agricultural sector. Heat stress due to increasing atmospheric temperature is one of the most common climate change impacts on agriculture. Heat stress has direct effects on crop production, along with indirect effects through associated problems such as drought, salinity, and pathogenic stresses. Approaches reported to be effective to mitigate heat stress include nano-management. Nano-agrochemicals such as nanofertilizers and nanopesticides are emerging approaches that have shown promise against heat stress, particularly biogenic nano-sources. Nanomaterials are favorable for crop production due to their low toxicity and eco-friendly action. This review focuses on the different stresses associated with heat stress and their impacts on crop production. Nano-management of crops under heat stress, including the application of biogenic nanofertilizers and nanopesticides, are discussed. The potential and limitations of these biogenic nano-agrochemicals are reviewed. Potential nanotoxicity problems need more investigation at the local, national, and global levels, as well as additional studies into biogenic nano-agrochemicals and their effects on soil, plant, and microbial properties and processes.

Abstract
Nano-selenium (Nano-Se), as a biological stimulant, promotes plant growth and development, as well as defense against biotic and abiotic stresses. Glutathione (GSH) is a crucial antioxidant and is also involved in the plant defense response to various stresses. In this study, the efficacy of combined treatment of Nano-Se and GSH (SeG) on the resistance of cucumber plants to Botrytis cinerea was investigated in terms of the plant phenotype, gene expression, and levels of accumulated metabolites using transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses. The exogenous application of SeG significantly enhanced plant growth and increased photosynthetic pigment contents and capacity. Notably, B. cinerea infection was reduced markedly by 41.9% after SeG treatment. At the molecular level, the SeG treatment activated the alpha-linolenic acid metabolic pathway and upregulated the expression of genes responsible for jasmonic acid (JA) synthesis, including LOX (210%), LOX4 (430%), AOS1 (100%), and AOC2 (120%), therefore promoting JA accumulation in cucumber. Intriguingly, the level of cucurbitacin, an important phytoalexin in cucurbitaceous plants, was found to be increased in SeG-treated cucumber plants, as was the expression of cucurbitacin biosynthesis-related genes OSC (107.5%), P450 (440.8%,31.6%), and ACT (414.0%). These genes were also upregulated by JA treatment, suggesting that JA may be an upstream regulator of cucurbitacin biosynthesis. Taken together, this study demonstrated that pretreatment of cucumber plants with SeG could activate the JA signaling pathway and promote cucurbitacin biosynthesis to enhance the resistance of the plants to B. cinerea infection. The findings also indicate that SeG is a promising biostimulant for protecting cucumber plants from B. cinerea infection without growth loss.

Abstract
Myxomycetes (plasmodial slime molds) are eukaryotic protist predators that are associated with wood, leaf litter, and soil in forests, where they feed on bacteria, protozoans, and (to a more limited extent) fungi. The health of crop plants is essential because they represent a primary food source for humans. However, when myxomycetes produce numerous fruiting bodies on the stems and leaves of crop plants, which is herein referred to as a myxomycete colonization, this has the potential of interfering with plant photosynthesis, transpiration and respiration by blocking out light and covering stomata. Myxomycetes are not pathogens, but their occurrence on plants can be mistakenly interpreted as some type of infection. However, this phenomenon has been largely ignored. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the taxonomic and economic diversity of the organisms involved in myxomycete colonization. In addition, the various types of myxomycete colonization reported in the literature are described and discussed, a number of images provided, and cultural and chemical prevention and control measures are summarized. The latter should be of significant relevance for local production of crops and plant protective stations. While myxomycetes are not pathogens of crop plants, some species can seriously impact commercially grown mushrooms. Reports of myxomycetes affecting mushrooms are also described in this paper.

Abstract
Insectivorous bats are generalist predators and can flexibly respond to fluctuations in the distribution and abundance of insect prey. To better understand the effects of bats on arthropod pests, the types of pests eaten by bats and the response of bats to insect prey need to be determined. In this study, we performed DNA metabarcoding to examine prey composition and pest diversity in the diets of four insectivorous species of bats (Hipposideros armiger, Taphozous melanopogon, Aselliscus stoliczkanus, and Miniopterus fuliginosus). We evaluated the correlation between bat activity and insect resources and assessed dietary niche similarity and niche breadth among species and factors that influence prey consumption in bats. We found that the diets of these bats included arthropods from 23 orders and 200 families, dominated by Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, and Diptera. The proportion of agricultural pests in the diet of each of the four species of bats exceeded 40% and comprised 713 agricultural pests, including those that caused severe economic losses. Bats responded to the availability of insects. For example, a higher abundance of insects, especially Lepidoptera, and a higher insect diversity led to an increase in the duration of bat activity. In areas with more abundant insects, the number of bat passes also increased. The dietary composition, diversity, and niches differed among species and were particularly significant between H. armiger and T. melanopogon; the dietary niche width was the greatest in A. stoliczkanus and the narrowest in H. armiger. The diet of bats was correlated with their morphological and echolocation traits. Larger bats preyed more on insects in the order Coleoptera, whereas the proportion of bats consuming insects in the order Lepidoptera increased as the body size decreased. Bats that emitted echolocation calls with a high peak frequency and duration preyed more on insects in the order Mantodea. Our results suggest that dietary niche differentiation promotes the coexistence of different bat species and increases the ability of bats to consume insect prey and agricultural pests. Our findings provide greater insights into the role of bats that prey on agricultural pests and highlight the importance of combining bat conservation with integrated pest management.
