Abstract
Cyclopropylamines are an important subclass of substituted cyclopropanes that combine the unique electronic and steric properties of cyclopropanes with the presence of a donor nitrogen atom. In addition to their presence in a diverse array of biologically active compounds, cyclopropylamines are utilized as important synthetic intermediates, particularly in ring-opening or cycloaddition reactions. Consequently, the synthesis of these compounds has constituted a significant research topic, as evidenced by the abundant published synthetic methods. In addition to the widely used Curtius rearrangement, classical cyclopropanation methods have been adapted to integrate a nitrogen function (Simmons-Smith reaction, metal-catalyzed reaction of diazo compounds on olefins, Michael-initiated ring-closure reactions) with significant advances in enantioselective synthesis. More recently, specific methods have been developed for the preparation of the aminocyclopropane moiety (Kulinkovich reactions applied to amides and nitriles, addition to cyclopropenes, metal-catalyzed reactions involving C-H functionalization, ...). The topic of this review is to present the different methods for the preparation of cyclopropylamine derivatives, with the aim of covering the methodological advances as best as possible, highlighting their scope, their stereochemical aspects and future trends.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed regio- and stereo-controllable C-H functionalization remains a formidable challenge in asymmetric catalysis. Herein, we disclose the first example of iridium-catalyzed C(sp3 )-H borylation of aminocyclopropanes by using simple imides as weakly coordinating directing groups under mild reaction conditions. The reaction proceeded via a six-membered iridacycle, affording a vast range of chiral aminocyclopropyl boronates. The current method features a broad spectrum of functional groups (36 examples) and high enantioselectivities (up to 99 %). We also demonstrated the synthetic utility by a preparative scale C-H borylation, C-B bond transformations, and conversion of the directing group.

Abstract
Cycloruthenated complexes have been studied extensively over the last few decades. Many accounts of their synthesis, characterisation, and catalytic activity in a wide variety of transformations have been reported to date. Compared with their non-cyclometallated analogues, cycloruthenated complexes may display enhanced catalytic activities in known transformations or possess entirely new reactivity. In other instances, these complexes can be chiral, and capable of catalysing stereoselective reactions. In this review, we aim to highlight the catalytic applications of cycloruthenated complexes in organic synthesis, emphasising the recent advancements in this field. We discuss recent advances in the applications of cycloruthenated complexes in organic synthesis, comprising C–H activation, chiral-at-metal catalysis, Z-selective olefin metathesis, transfer hydrogenation, enantioselective cyclopropanations and cycloadditions.![]()

Abstract
In this contribution, we provide a comprehensive overview of acyclic twisted amides, covering the literature since 1993 (the year of the first recognized report on acyclic twisted amides) through June 2020. The review focuses on classes of acyclic twisted amides and their key structural properties, such as amide bond twist and nitrogen pyramidalization, which are primarily responsible for disrupting nN to π*C═O conjugation. Through discussing acyclic twisted amides in comparison with the classic bridged lactams and conformationally restricted cyclic fused amides, the reader is provided with an overview of amidic distortion that results in novel conformational features of acyclic amides that can be exploited in various fields of chemistry ranging from organic synthesis and polymers to biochemistry and structural chemistry and the current position of acyclic twisted amides in modern chemistry.

Abstract
Organometallic complexes [Ru-Colefin(sp2)-Ru(II)-Pheox 2a-2d] containing a Ru-Colefin(sp2) bond have been prepared from unsaturated chiral oxazoline derivatives and evaluated for asymmetric cyclopropanation reactions. The corresponding optically active cyclopropanes were obtained with high yields and high stereoselectivities (≥99/<1 trans/cis, 99% trans ee). The enantioselectivities were found to be affected by the geminal substituent on the Ru-C(sp2) bond. In particular, Ru(II)-Prox catalyst 2c, in which there was no geminal substituent on the metal, was shown to have the highest enantioselectivities.

Abstract
Amine-substituted cyclobutanes and cyclopropanes are important substructures in biologically active compounds. Moreover, many of the cycloalkane units bear multiple substituents and stereocenters. Therefore, synthetic methods that produce polysubstituted aminocyclobutanes and aminocyclopropanes in a highly diastereo- and enantioselective manner are of importance. Herein, we describe the diastereo- and enantioselective synthesis of various types of polysubstituted aminocyclobutanes and aminocyclopropanes through CuH-catalyzed hydroamination of 1-substituted cyclobutenes and cyclopropenes. These strained trisubstituted alkenes exhibit much higher reactivity compared to their unstrained analogues in the initial hydrocupration step of the reaction. Moreover, an interesting reversal of regioselectivity was observed in the hydroamination of 1-aryl-substituted cyclobutenes compared to the cyclopropene analogues. The origins of the enhanced reactivity of strained trisubstituted alkenes as well as the differences in the regio- and enantioselectivity between reactions with cyclobutenes and cyclopropenes were investigated computationally.

Abstract
Cyclopropylamines are prevalent in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Herein, we report the synthesis of trans-2-substituted cyclopropylamines in high diastereoselectivity from readily available α-chloroaldehydes. The reaction proceeds via trapping of an electrophilic zinc homoenolate with an amine followed by ring closure to generate the cyclopropylamine. We have also observed that cyclopropylamine cis/trans-isomerization occurs in the presence of zinc halide salts and that this process can be turned off by the addition of a polar aprotic cosolvent.

Abstract
We report the catalytic enantio- and diastereoselective preparation of aminocyclopropanes by the cyclopropanation of terminal and (Z)-internal 2-azadienes with donor/acceptor carbenes derived from α-diazoesters. The resulting cyclopropanes bear quaternary carbon stereogenic centers vicinal to the amino-substituted carbon and are formed as a single diastereomer in up to 99:1 er and 97% yield with 0.5 mol % of Rh2(DOSP)4 and only 1.5 equiv of the diazo reagent. Transformations with internal azadienes afford cyclopropanes with three contiguous stereogenic centers.

Abstract
An asymmetric transfer hydrogenation via dynamic kinetic resolution of a broad range of rac- α-(purin-9-yl)cyclopentones was first developed. A series of cis-β-(purin-9-yl)cyclopentanols were obtained with up to 97% yield, >20/1 dr, and >99% ee. This also provides an efficient synthetic route to a variety of chiral carbocyclic nucleosides.

Abstract
A procedure allowing access to unprecedented tripeptides containing a trans-2-aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid residue in their central position has been established. The key features of the strategy are the use of a masked trans-2-aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid monomer equivalent for C-terminal coupling and full N-Boc protection of all amide groups until the final step.

Abstract
An unprecedented cyclization reaction of donor-acceptor oxiranes with N,N'-disubstituted thioureas to construct trans-dihydropyrimidines is presented. Preliminary reaction mechanism studies demonstrated that the reaction underwent sequential cycloaddition/amine ester exchange/oxygen-sulfur exchange/desulfuration/Michael addition process. A wide range of trans-dihydropyrimidines were produced with high yields up to 94% by using this method.

Abstract
Diversity-oriented synthesis of pyrazoline derivatives that contain a quaternary carbon center has been achieved via the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between N-purine-substituted allenes and α-alkyl/aryl diazoesters. Using Pd2(dba)3 as a catalyst, only 1-pyrazoline derivatives are produced in a regioselective manner. When DPPB is used as a catalyst, diverse 1-pyrazolines and 2-pyrazolines are obtained in moderate to good total yields.

Abstract
An efficient route to chiral carbocyclic nucleoside analogues containing a quaternary stereocenter and a C═C double bond has been established via a highly enantioselective [3 + 2] annulation of Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) carbonates with α-purine-substituted acrylates. With 20 mol % (S)-SITCP as the catalyst, various chiral carbocyclic nucleoside analogues with a quaternary stereocenter and a C═C double bond were obtained in high yields (up to 92%) with good diastereoselectivities (up to 10:1 dr) and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 96% ee). Furthermore, the corresponding products were subjected to diverse transformations to afford interesting and potentially useful chiral carbocyclic nucleosides.

Abstract
A direct route to branched N-allylpyrimidine analogues is herein reported via the highly regio- and enantioselective asymmetric allylation of pyrimidines with racemic allylic carbonates. With [Rh(COD)Cl]2/chiral diphosphine as the catalyst, a range of chiral pyrimidine acyclic nucleosides could be obtained under neutral conditions in good yields (up to 95% yield) with high levels of regio- and enantioselectivities (15:1 to >40:1 B/L and up to 99% ee). Furthermore, chiral pyrimidine acyclic nucleoside bearing two adjacent chiral centers has been successfully synthesized by asymmetric dihydroxylation.
