Abstract
Benzoheteroles are valuable scaffolds in medicinal chemistry, but the direct synthesis of 3-vinyl benzoheterole analogues remains unexplored. A rationally designed new class of 1,6-enyne-containing propargylic alcohols has been prepared for the modular synthesis of 3-alkenyl benzoheteroles. Ag-catalyzed cascade radical sulfonylative-cycloannulation of 1,6-enynols with sodium sulfinates is realized to access a wide variety of 2,3-disubstituted benzoheteroles in good to high yields. Moreover, a three-component coupling of 1,6-enynols, aryldiazonium salts, and Na2S2O5 (as an SO2 surrogate) has been achieved to deliver benzoheterole derivatives in moderate to good yields. Of note, a scalable reaction and late-stage synthetic transformations were successfully demonstrated. A plausible mechanism is also presented based on the existing experimental results and control experiments.

Abstract
An efficient protocol for the chemoselective construction of the indeno[1,2-b]pyrroles and rearranged indeno[1,2-b]pyrrole derivatives is reported via an N-acylation/cyclization/Wittig reaction. Extensive mechanistic investigations revealed that the initially formed crucial spiro-indene-1,2'-[1,3,4]oxadiazol intermediate further reacts with phosphine to generate betaine, thus predominately resulting in the aforementioned heteroarenes proceeding by a Wittig reaction.

Abstract
This review describes the progress of the last decade on the synthesis of substituted benzofurans, which are useful scaffolds for the synthesis of numerous natural products and pharmaceuticals. In particular, new intramolecular and intermolecular C-C and/or C-O bond-forming processes, with transition-metal catalysis or metal-free are summarized. (1) Introduction. (2) Ring generation via intramolecular cyclization. (2.1) C7a-O bond formation: (route a). (2.2) O-C2 bond formation: (route b). (2.3) C2-C3 bond formation: (route c). (2.4) C3-C3a bond formation: (route d). (3) Ring generation via intermolecular cyclization. (3.1) C7a-O and C3-C3a bond formation (route a + d). (3.2) O-C2 and C2-C3 bond formation: (route b + c). (3.3) O-C2 and C3-C3a bond formation: (route b + d). (4) Benzannulation. (5) Conclusion.

Abstract
A series of polychalcogenotrimethylsilane complexes Ar(CH2ESiMe3)n, (Ar = aryl; E = S, Se; n = 2, 3, and 4) can be prepared from the corresponding polyorganobromide and M[ESiMe3] (M = Na, Li). These represent the first examples of the incorporation of such a large number of reactive -ESiMe3 moieties onto an organic molecular framework. They are shown to be convenient reagents for the preparation of the polyferrocenylseleno- and thioesters from ferrocenoyl chloride. The synthesis, structures, and spectroscopic properties of the new silyl chalcogen complexes 1,4-(Me3SiECH2)2(C6Me4) (E = S, 1; E = Se, 2), 1,3,5-(Me3SiECH2)3(C6Me3) (E = S, 3; E = Se, 4) and 1,2,4,5-(Me3SiECH2)4(C6H2) (E = S, 5; E = Se, 6) and the polyferrocenyl chalcogenoesters [1,4-{FcC(O)ECH2}2(C6Me4)] (E = S, 7; E = Se, 8), [1,3,5-{FcC(O)ECH2}3(C6Me3)] (E = S, 9; E = Se, 10) and [1,2,4,5-{FcC(O)ECH2}4(C6H2)] (E = S, 11 illustrated; E = Se, 12) are reported. The new polysilylated reagents and polyferrocenyl chalcogenoesters have been characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy ((1)H, (13)C, (77)Se), electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and, for complexes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 11, single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The cyclic voltammograms of complexes 7-11 are presented.

Abstract
A general preparation of new types of benzofurans, benzothiophenes and indoles is realized via chemoselective intramolecular Wittig reactions with the corresponding ester, thioester and amide functionalities using in situ formed phosphorus ylides as key intermediates. The reaction conditions are very mild, and numerous Michael acceptors and commercially available acid chlorides can be applied very efficiently in a one-step procedure.
