Abstract
Oil is one of three nutritious elements. The application of omics techniques in the field of oil science and technology is attracted increasing attention. Oilomics, which emerged as an important branch of foodomics, has been widely used in various aspects of oil science and technology. However, there are currently no articles systematically reviewing the application of oilomics. This paper aims to provide a critical overview of the advantages and value of oilomics technology compared to traditional techniques in various aspects of oil science and technology, including oil nutrition, oil processing, oil quality, safety, and traceability. Moreover, this article intends to review major issues in oilomics and give a comprehensive, critical overview of the current state of the art, future challenges and trends in oilomics, with a view to promoting the optimal application and development of oilomics technology in oil science and technology.

Abstract
Madhurakshak Activ (MA), a commercial polyherbal antidiabetic preparation is known to manage diabetes mellitus (DM) by reducing blood glucose levels. However, lacks systematic mechanistic evaluation for their molecular and cellular mode of actions. In the present study, hydro-alcoholic and aqueous extract of MA were evaluated for their effects on glucose adsorption, diffusion, amylolysis kinetics and transport across the yeast cells using in vitro techniques. Bioactive compounds identified from MA by LC-MS/MS were assessed for their binding potential against DPP-IV and PPARγ via an in silico approach. Our results revealed that the adsorption of glucose increased dose dependently (5 mM -100 mM). Both extracts exhibited linear glucose uptake into the yeast cells (5 mM - 25 mM), whereas glucose diffusion was directly proportional to time (30-180 min). Pharmacokinetic analysis revealed drug-like properties and low toxicity levels for all the selected compounds. Among the tested compounds, 6-hydroxyluteolin (-8.9 against DPP-IV and PPARγ) and glycyrrhetaldehyde (DPP-IV -9.7 and PPARγ -8.5) have exhibited higher binding affinity compared to the positive control. Therefore, the above compounds were further considered for molecular dynamics simulation which showed stability of the docked complexes. Hence, studied mode of actions might produce a concerted role of MA in increasing the rate of glucose absorption and uptake followed by the in silico studies which suggest that the compounds identified from MA may inhibit DPP-IV and PPARγ phosphorylation.

Abstract
In an era where humanity is reinstating its lost hope and expectation on natural products, green tea occupies quite a position for what it has proven to be, in its endeavors for human welfare and health. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) is the key to the vast biological activities of green tea. Green tea is no longer in the backdrop; it has emerged as the most viral, trending bioactive molecule when it comes to health benefits for human beings. This review focuses on the use of various analytical techniques for the analysis of EGCG. That which has been achieved so far, in terms of in vitro, pure component analysis, as well as those spikes in biological fluids and those in vivo in animal and human samples, was surveyed and presented. The use of MS-based techniques for the analysis of EGCG is elaborately reviewed and the need for improvising the applications is explained. The review emphasizes that there is plenty of room to explore matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) applications in this subject area.

Abstract
There are numerous cultivars of tea (Camellia sinensis L.), but the differences in their anti-hyperglycemic-related effects are largely unknown. The inhibition of the dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-IV enzyme plays an essential role in controlling hyperglycemia in diabetes by blocking the degradation of incretin hormones, which is necessary for insulin secretion. In this study, we examined the DPP-IV inhibitory activity of leaf extracts from diverse Japanese green tea cultivars. The inhibitory rates differed among tea extracts. Metabolic profiling (MP), using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, of all cultivars revealed compositional differences among cultivars according to their DPP-IV inhibitory capacity. Epigallocatechin-3-O-(3-O-methyl)gallate, kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside, myricetin-3-O-glucoside/galactoside, and theogallin were newly identified as DPP-IV inhibitors. The bioactivity of a tea extract was potentiated by adding these ingredients in combination. Our results show that MP is a useful approach for evaluating the DPP-IV inhibitory potency of green tea and for determining bioactivity-related ingredients and combinations.

Abstract
Epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG), a catechin present in green tea, selectively elicits apoptosis in multiple myeloma cells by activating the endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS)/cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) axis. However, the effects of EGCG alone are limited. Herein, we revealed that fustin, a flavanonol, enhances the EGCG-elicited activation of the cGMP/eNOS axis in multiple myeloma cells. Isobologram analysis demonstrated that EGCG/fustin synergistically elicited cell death in multiple myeloma cells. Importantly, this chemical combination significantly promoted cell death without affecting the normal cells. To assess the effects of EGCG and fustin in vivo, female BALB/c mice were inoculated with multiple myeloma MPC11 cells and then treated with each compound. The combination of EGCG/fustin suppressed tumor growth in vivo without affecting alanine aminotransferase/aspartate aminotransferase levels, the dose-limiting toxicity of EGCG. Consistent with in vitro findings, this combination increased eNOS phosphorylation at Ser1177 in the tumor. Collectively, fustin amplified EGCG-induced activation of the eNOS/cGMP axis.

Abstract
In this study, a novel at-line nanofractionation screening platform was successfully developed for the rapid screening and identification of α-glucosidase inhibitors from natural products. A time-course bioassay based on high density well-plates was performed in parallel with high resolution mass spectrometry (MS), providing a straightforward and rapid procedure to simultaneously obtain chemical and biological information of active compounds. Through multiple nanofractionations into the same well-plate and comparisons of the orthogonal separation results of hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) and reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC), the α-glucosidase inhibitors can be accurately identified from co-eluates. The screening platform was comprehensively evaluated and validated, and was applied to the screenings of green tea polyphenols and Ginkgo folium flavonoids. After accurate peak shape and retention time matching between the bioactivity chromatograms and MS chromatograms, ten α-glucosidase inhibitors were successfully screened out and identified. The proposed screening method is rapid, effective and can avoid ignoring low abundant/active inhibitors.

Abstract
Diet is one of the pillars in the prevention and management of diabetes mellitus. Particularly, eating patterns characterized by a high consumption of foods such as fruits or vegetables and beverages such as coffee and tea could influence the development and progression of type 2 diabetes. Flavonoids, whose intake has been inversely associated with numerous negative health outcomes in the last few years, are a common constituent of these food items. Therefore, they could contribute to the observed positive effects of certain dietary habits in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Of all the different flavonoid subclasses, flavan-3-ols are consumed the most in the European region. However, a large proportion of the ingested flavan-3-ols is not absorbed. Therefore, the flavan-3-ols enter the large intestine where they become available to the colonic bacteria and are metabolized by the microbiota. For this reason, in addition to the parent compounds, the colonic metabolites of flavan-3-ols could take part in the prevention and management of diabetes. The aim of this review is to present the available literature on the effect of both the parent flavan-3-ol compounds found in different food sources as well as the specific microbial metabolites of diabetes in order to better understand their potential role in the prevention and treatment of the disease.

Abstract
The phenolic contents and antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, and anticholinergic potentials of four endemic Gysophila taxa (G. pallida, G. arrosti, G. tuberculosa, and G. eriocalyx) were investigated. The HPLC analysis showed that methanol extracts of all the tested species were richer in phenolics than water extracts. 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillin, syringic acid, and p-coumaric acid were detected in all extracts. In parallel to the phenolic contents, methanol extracts displayed comparatively higher antioxidant activity than water extracts. Additionally, all extracts exhibited dose-dependent antiproliferative activity on the cancer cell lines with lower IC50 values changing from 0.170 to 1.805 mg/ml. Moreover, the extracts impressively inhibited the acetylcholinesterase (0.63-26.04), butyrylcholinesterase (3.66-10.73), and α-glycosidase (98.52-235.55) enzymes with very low IC50 (mg/ml) values. Together, the present results indicate that Gysophila taxa have various biological activities together with higher phenolic contents. Hence, these species hold good potential for use in the pharmaceutical industry. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Gypsophila taxa having numerous biological activities have been used for different purpose in folk medicine as well as their use in the food industry. The obtained results of the current study indicated that the extracts of Gypsophila taxa are rich in phenolics and flavonoids with powerful antioxidant and antiproliferative activity against different type of cancer cell lines. In addition, the extracts obtained from these taxa showed notable antidiabetic and anticholinergics effects. Gypsophila taxa could be used as a natural material to develop anticancer, antidiabetic, and anticholinergic drugs.
