Abstract
A series of luminescent Pb2+ complexes, [Pb(L1)2]n (1), [Pb(L2)2]n (2), [Pb(L3)(NO3)(H2O)2]n (3), [Pb(L3)(Br)(H2O)]n (4), [Pb(L3)(Cl)(H2O)]n (5), and [Pb(L4)(H2O)2] (6) have been synthesized by treatment of polydentate tetrazolato ligands with various hydrated Pb2+ salts (HL1 = 2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine, HL2 = 3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)isoquinoline, HL3 = 6-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine, and H2L4 = 6,6'-bis(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine). These complexes have been characterized by IR, TGA, and elemental analysis. Their crystal structures have been determined by X-ray crystallography, and the phase purity of bulk samples were further confirmed by PXRD. Their luminescence properties have been investigated in detail, and their emission origin may involve ligand-centered π-π* transition, metal-centered s-p transition and charge-transfer character. It is interesting to note that 5 exhibits obviously enhanced red-shifted emission, whose photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY = 16.5%) is much higher than the other compounds (≤2%). Most importantly, the emission property of 5 was strongly affected by temperature. When the temperature rises from 295 to 493 K, the emission maximum gradually shifts to high energy due to the loss of the aqua ligand. In contrast, when the temperature is lowered from 295 to 13 K, two emission bands were observed. The low-energy emission band exhibits a slight blue shift, while a new high-energy emission band appears at around 520 nm, which is assigned to ligand-centered phosphorescence. After removal of the coordinated aqua ligand, the emission of 5-H2O is very sensitive to the vapors of volatile primary amines and acids, although they have different response mechanisms. This result indicates that 5-H2O may be a potential multifunctional sensor for temperature, volatile amines, and acids. To decipher the emission origin, DFT calculations have also been carried out based on the structure units of these compounds.

Sorption of Fulvic Acids and Their Compounds with Heavy Metal Ions on Clay Minerals. SOIL SYSTEMS 2022. Abstract
In real soils the interaction of humic substances with clay minerals often occurs with the participation of metal cations. The adsorption of fulvic acids (FA) solution and their solutions in the presence of heavy metal ions (Pb or Zn) on two clay minerals (kaolinite and bentonite) was investigated by measurement of the optical density changes in the of equilibrium solutions. The FA adsorption by bentonite at the concentrations 0.05–1 g/L proceeds according to the polymolecular mechanism and has a stepwise character. The adsorption of FA on kaolinite can be described by the mechanism of monomolecular adsorption. In three-component systems, including FA, trace element ions and a clay mineral, complex processes occur, including the formation of complexes and salts and their adsorption. The sorption of colored complexes of FA with Pb on the surface of kaolinite and bentonite increases with increasing metal concentrations (0.5–2 mmol/L). The interaction of the FA-Zn2+ compounds with bentonite is a more complicated process—adsorption takes place at the lowest concentration used only. Thus, binding of FA by clay minerals in the presence of metal cations is a complex phenomenon due to the chemical heterogeneity of FA, different properties of metals, characteristics of mineral surfaces and the variability of environmental conditions.

Abstract
Luminescent Pb2+-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) belong to a new class of multifunctional molecular materials with interesting luminescence properties and potential applications within a single crystalline phase. In this mini review, we present the recent advances that have been achieved in their applications as single-phase white-light emitting materials and chemosensors in the last decade. We focus on the trends in the modification of their structures and luminescence by various bridging ligands, and subsequently their multifunctional applications, which may affect the future development of the field.

Two Highly Stable Luminescent Lead Phosphonates Based on Mixed Ligands: Highly Selective and Sensitive Sensing for Thymine Molecule and VO 3 - Anion. ACS OMEGA 2018; 3:16443-16452. Abstract
Two luminescent lead phosphonates with two-dimensional (2D) layer and three-dimensional (3D) framework structure, namely, Pb3[(L1)2(Hssc)(H2O)2] (1) and [Pb2(L2)0.5(bts)(H2O)2]·H2O (2) (H2L1 = O(CH2CH2)2NCH2PO3H2, H4L2 = H2PO3CH2NH(C2H4)2NHCH2PO3H2, H3ssc = 5-sulfosalicylic acid, NaH2bts = 5-sulfoisophthalic acid sodium) have been prepared via hydrothermal techniques. The two compounds not only show excellent thermal stability but also remain intact in aqueous solution within an extensive pH range. Moreover, the atomic absorption spectroscopy analysis experiment indicates that there does not exist the leaching of Pb2+ ions from the lead phosphonates, which show they are nontoxic in aqueous solution. In compound 1, the Pb(1)O4, Pb(2)O7, Pb(3)O4, and CPO3 polyhedra are interlinked into a one-dimensional chain, which is further connected to adjacent chain by sharing the Hssc2- to form a 2D layer. Interestingly, compound 1 as a highly selective and sensitive luminescent material can be used to detect the thymine molecule with a very low detection limit of 8.26 × 10-7 M. In compound 2, the Pb(1)O6 and Pb(2)O5 polyhedra are interlinked into a dimer via edge sharing, which is further connected to adjacent dimer to form a tetramer via corner sharing, and such a tetramer is then interlinked into a 2D layer through bts3- ligands; the adjacent 2D layers are finally constructed to a 3D structure by sharing the L2 4- ligand. Compound 2 can be applied as an excellent luminescent sensor for sensing of VO3 - anion. Furthermore, the probable fluorescent quenching mechanisms of the two compounds have also been studied.

Abstract
Abstract
In a comparative structural study, the solid state structures within the homologous series of alkane-α,ω-diphosphonic acids, H2O3P–(CH2)
n
–PO3H2 with n = 6–12, have been characterised by powder and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures of the odd-numbered diphosphonic acids were found to be homotypic. For the even-numbered diphosphonic acids – including the two already known polymorphs of butane-1,4-diphosphonic acid – two different types are found. Basically, all alkane-α,ω-diphosphonic acids exhibit pillared-layered structures with their terminal groups forming two-dimensional hydrogen bonded networks which are covalently bridged by alkylene chains. Structural differences occur within the hydrogen bonding systems as well as in the arrangement of the alkylene chains. Based on the existence of different structure types of the alkane-α,ω-diphosphonic acids, the progression of their melting points can be explained.

Abstract
Two novel oxovanadium–organophosphonates with a 3D supramolecular structure, [{M(1,10–phen)}(VO)(OH)(hedp)]·H2O (M = Cu (1), Zn (2)), have been hydrothermally synthesized. The surface photovoltage and luminescent properties of the two compounds have been studied.
