Abstract
Herein, a comparative study between novel water-soluble phthalocyanine-based biosensors was performed for the application of glucose sensing. For this purpose, two different copper (II) and manganese (III) phthalocyanines and their water-soluble derivatives were synthesized, and then their role as a supporting material for enzyme immobilization was evaluated by comparing their sensor performances. Two different phthalocyanine (AP-OH2-MnQ (MnPc) and AP-OH2-CuQ (CuPc)) were tested using electrochemical biosensor with immobilized glucose oxidase (GOx). To the best of our knowledge, the related water-soluble phthalocyanine-based glucose biosensors were attempted for the first time, and the developed approach resulted in improved biosensor characteristics. The constructed biosensors GE/MnPc/GOx and GE/CuPc/GOx showed good linearity between 0.003-1.0 mM and 0.05-0.4 mM, respectively. The limit of detection was estimated at 0.0026 mM for the GE/MnPc/GOx and 0.019 mM for the GE/CuPc/GOx. KMapp and sensitivity values were also calculated as 0.026 mM and 175.043 µAmM-1 cm-2 for the GE/MnPc/GOx biosensor and 0.178 mM and 117.478 µAmM-1 cm-2 for the GE/CuPc/GOx biosensor. Moreover, the fabricated biosensors were successfully tested to detect glucose levels in beverages with high recovery results. The present study shows that the proposed water-soluble phthalocyanines could be a good alternative for quick and cheap glucose sensing with improved analytical characteristics.

Abstract
The synthesis of two novel phthalonitrile derivatives (3-4) bearing ethynylcyclohex-1-ene and ethynylcyclohexane groups and two peripherally octa substituted zinc (II) phthalocyanines (5-6) were prepared. The synthesis of phthalonitrile derivatives was performed with Sonagashira coupling reaction by using palladium-catalyzed. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by using FT-IR, NMR, mass, and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy techniques. Aggregation studies of 5 and 6 were performed in various organic solvents and different concentrations in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The photophysical studies of the Pcs were performed in THF to determine the effect of the alkyne groups on the fluorescence of the Pc ring. Substances showing fluorescence properties can be used in practical applications such as to create an image in microscopy. Fluorescence quantum yield (ΦF) and fluorescence lifetime (τF) of 5-6 were calculated. The fluorescence quenching studies of 5-6 were performed by adding the different concentrations of 1,4-benzoquinone (BQ) to a constant concentration of the Pcs in THF and it was found that benzoquinone was an effective quencher. The values of the Stern-Volmer constant (Ksv) and quenching constant (kq) of zinc phthalocyanines (5-6) were examined. All obtained results were compared with each other and with unsubstituted zinc Pc compound used as a reference.

Abstract
Phthalocyanines and their double-decker complexes are interesting in designing rotative molecular machines, which are crucial for the development of molecular motors and gears. This study explores the design and synthesis of three bulky phthalocyanine ligands functionalized at the α-positions with phenothiazine or carbazole fragments, aiming to investigate dynamic rotational motions in these sterically hindered molecular complexes. Homoleptic and heteroleptic double-decker complexes were synthesized through the complexation of these ligands with Ce(IV). Notably, CeIV(Pc2)2 and CeIV(Pc3)2, both homoleptic complexes, exhibited blocked rotational motions even at high temperatures. The heteroleptic CeIV(Pc)(Pc3) complex, designed to lower symmetry, demonstrated switchable rotation along the pseudo-C4 symmetry axis upon heating the solution. Variable-temperature 1H-NMR studies revealed distinct dynamic behaviors in these complexes. This study provides insights into the rotational dynamics of sterically hindered double-decker complexes, paving the way for their use in the field of rotative molecular machines.

Abstract
The electrochemical polymerization of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) was performed in the presence of a water-soluble anionic copper and zinc octa(3',5'-dicarboxyphenoxy)phthalocyaninate containing 16 ionogenic carboxylate groups. The influences of the central metal atom in the phthalocyaninate and EDOT-to-carboxylate group ratio (1:2, 1:4, and 1:6) on the course of electropolymerization were studied using electrochemical methods. It has been shown that the polymerization of EDOT in the presence of phthalocyaninates proceeds at a higher rate compared to that in the presence of a low-molecular-weight electrolyte (sodium acetate). Studies of the electronic and chemical structure using UV-Vis-NIR and Raman spectroscopies showed that the use of copper phthalocyaninate leads to a higher content of the latter in PEDOT composite films. The 1:2 EDOT-to-carboxylate group ratio was found to be optimal for a higher content of phthalocyaninate in the composite film.

Abstract
In this study, a new fluorinated phthalonitrile compound namely 5-bis[4-(trifluoromethoxy)-thiophenyl] phthalonitrile was synthesized. In addition, peripherally substituted symmetric metallated phthalocyanine derivatives [M = Co (2) and M = Zn (3)] and unsymmetrically substituted zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) complex (4) were synthesized by cyclotetramerization of this phthalonitrile compound. Characterization of all new compounds was carried out using FT-IR, NMR, UV-Vis, and mass spectroscopy. Additionally, antioxidant activity, DNA cleavage activity, antimicrobial activity, biofilm inhibition activity, and bacterial viability inhibition test of the compounds (1-4) were investigated. The antioxidant activities of the new phthalocyanine complexes were studied by performing two different methods. The results indicated that the highest DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) free radical scavenging activity was determined to be 67.85% for 2 and also 3 showed the highest activity with 31.65% for chelating activity at 200 mg L-1 concentration. Phthalocyanine compounds demonstrated effective DNA cleavage and antimicrobial activities. The highest percentage of cell vitality inhibition was found for compound 4, 56.92%. Also, test compounds exhibited good biofilm inhibition activity.

Abstract
In this study, we have investigated the electrochromic properties including the change in absorption spectra and colour after oxidation and reduction reactions of tetraphenylporphyrin and its metal complexes in dichloromethane. The first oxidation potential is determined from CV measurements, and the reduction potential is estimated from comparison with literature values. Electrolytic reactions are carried out by applying the oxidation potential and reduction potential to each sample solution. The metals used are Ag(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Mg(II), Mn(III), Ni(II) and Zn(II). Various colours can be expressed after the redox reactions by changing the central metal.

Abstract
In this study, nonperipherally alkyl-linked carbazole conjugated novel zinc(II) phthalocyanine was synthesized by cyclotetramerization reaction of 6-(9 H-carbazol-9-yl)hexane-1-thiol and 3,6-bis(tosyloxy) phthalonitrile in a one-step reaction. Optical, electrical, and sensing properties of this super structured polycarbazole obtained by electropolymerization are compared with peripherally alkyl-linked polycarbazole-based zinc(II) phthalocyanine. It has been found that the attachment of alkyl-linked carbazoles to the phthalocyanine molecule in either peripheral or nonperipheral positions has a great effect on the optical and electrical properties and sensing ability of the resulting polycarbazole derivatives. P(n-ZnPc) has the highest electrochromic contrast (70.5%) among the derivatives of zinc(II) phthalocyanines in the literature. In addition to these, the sensor platform has been successfully established, and analytical optimizations have been carried out. When the sensors prepared with zinc(II) phthalocyanine are examined, it was specified that the n-ZnPc- co-TP/GOx was ranked first in the literature with high sensor response and stability. As a result, by changing of the peripheral and nonperipheral position of phthalocyanines, their physical properties can be tuned to meet the requirements of desired technological application.
