Abstract
Intimate coupling photocatalysis and biodegradation treatment technology is an emerging technology in the treatment of refractory organic matter, and the carrier plays an important role in this technology. In this paper, sugarcane cellulose was used as the basic skeleton, absorbent cotton was used as a reinforcing agent, anhydrous sodium sulfate was used as a pore-forming agent to prepare a cellulose porous support with good photocatalytic performance, and nano-TiO2 was loaded onto it by a low-temperature bonding method. The results showed that the optimal preparation conditions of cellulose carriers were: cellulose mass fraction 1.0%; absorbent cotton 0.6 g; and Na2SO4 60 g. The SEM, EDS and XPS characterization further indicated that the nano-TiO2 was uniformly loaded onto the cellulose support. The degradation experiments of Rhodamine B showed that the nano-TiO2-loaded composite supports had good photocatalytic performance. The degradation rate of 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene was more than 92% after 6 cycles, and the experiment of adhering a large number of microorganisms on the carriers before and after the reaction showed that the cellulose-based carriers obtained the required photocatalytic performance and stability, which is a good cellulose porous carrier.

Abstract
Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs) are a new class of solvents characterized by a remarkable decrease in melting point compared to those of the starting components. The eutectic mixtures can be simply prepared by mixing a Hydrogen Bond Acceptor (HBA) with a Hydrogen Bond Donor (HBD) at a temperature of about 80 °C. They have found applications in different research fields; for instance, they have been employed in organic synthesis, electrochemistry, and bio-catalysis, showing improved biodegradability and lower toxicity compared to other solvents. Herein, we review the use of DESs in biosensor development. We consider the emerging interest in different fields of this green class of solvents and the possibility of their use for the improvement of biosensor performance. We point out some promising examples of approaches for the assembly of biosensors exploiting their compelling characteristics. Furthermore, the extensive ability of DESs to solubilize a wide range of molecules provides the possibility to set up new devices, even for analytes that are usually insoluble and difficult to quantify.

Abstract
The current work reports the photocatalytic and antibacterial performance of tin (Sn) doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles synthesized via ultrasonic aided co-precipitation technique. The increase of Sn concentration decreased the lattice parameter and increased the crystallite size without changing the ZnO structure. The hexagonal shaped particles and sheets obtained for 3% and 5% Sn substituted ZnO, respectively. The increase of dopant concentration reduced the reflectance and optical band gap energy of Sn doped ZnO. The vibrational band present at 1443 cm-1 confirmed the successful bond formation of Sn-O-Zn. The 5% Sn doped ZnO nanoparticles exhibited greater dye elimination rate of methylene blue compared to 3% Sn. The antibacterial activity of Sn doped ZnO showed the higher zone of inhibition about 14 mm against different pathogens. The 5% Sn doped ZnO photocatalyst improve the transfer rate of photo excite carrier and decrease the rate of recombination which greatly influence on the photocatalytic and antibacterial performance.

Abstract
Water contamination by dyes is a matter of concern for human health and the environment. Various methods (membrane separation, coagulation and adsorption) have been explored to remove/degrade dyes. However, now the exploitation of semiconductor assisted materials using renewable solar energy has emerged as a potential candidate to resolve the issue. Although, single component photocatalysts (ZnO, TiO2, ZrO2) were experimented, due to their low efficiency and stability due to the high recombination rate electron-hole pair and inefficient visible light absorption, composites of semiconductor materials are being used. Semiconductor heterojunction systems are developed by coupling two or more semiconductor components. The synergistic effect of their properties, such as adsorption and improved charge carrier migration, is observed to increase overall stability. This review covers recent progress in advanced nanocomposite materials based on g-C3N4, TiO2 and ZnO used as photocatalysts with details of enhancing the photocatalytic properties by heterojunctions, crystallinity and doping. The conclusion at the end displays a summary, research gaps and future outlook. A holistic analysis of recent progress to demonstrate the efficient heterojunctions for photodegradation with optimal conditions, this review will be helpful for the development of efficient heterostructured systems for photodegradation. This review covers references from the year 2017-2020.

Abstract
Three different composites were produced, based on zinc oxide and biochar (ZnO/biochar), varying the type of biomass (Salvinia molesta: SM; exhausted husk of black wattle: EH; and sugarcane bagasse: SB), with pyrolysis under mild conditions at 350 and 450 °C. Evaluation was made of the capacities of the composites for photocatalytic degradation of sulfamethoxazole antibiotic (SMX) and methyl orange dye (MO). The properties of the prepared composites were influenced by the biomass source, with larger crystallite size (SB), lower band gap energy (SM), higher specific surface area (SB), and larger pore size (SM) resulting in higher photocatalytic efficiency. Good degradation results were obtained using these innovative photocatalysts prepared at low temperatures, when compared to ZnO/biochar materials reported in previous studies. The best degradation capacities were obtained for the composites produced at 450 °C from SB and SM, with 99.3 and 97% degradation of SMX after 45 min, and 90.8 and 88.3% degradation of MO after 120 min, respectively.

Abstract
An overview of the reported electrochemistry studies on the chemistry of the element for targets for isotope production in ionic liquids (ILs) is provided. The majority of investigations have been dedicated to two aspects of the reactive element chemistry. The first part of this review presents description of the cyclotron targets properties, especially physicochemical characterization of irradiated elements. The second part is devoted to description of the electrodeposition procedures leading to obtain elements or their alloys coatings (e.g., nickel, uranium) as the targets for cyclotron and reactor generation of the radioisotopes. This review provides an evaluation of the role ILs can have in the production of isotopes.

Abstract
Rapidly growing mycobacteria (RGM) are pathogens that belong to the mycobacteriaceae family and responsible for causing mycobacterioses, which are infections of opportunistic nature and with increasing incidence rates in the world population. This work evaluated the use of six water-soluble cationic porphyrins as photosensitizers for the antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) of four RGM strains: Mycolicibacterium fortuitum, Mycolicibacterium smeagmatis, Mycobacteroides abscessus subs. Abscessus, and Mycobacteroides abscessus subsp. massiliense. Experiments were conducted with an adequate concentration of photosensitizer under white-light irradiation conditions over 90 min and the results showed that porphyrins 1 and 2 (M = 2H or ZnII ion) were the most effective and significantly reduced the concentration of viable mycobacteria. The present work shows the result is dependent on the metal-center ion coordinated in the cationic porphyrin core. Moreover, we showed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) the possible membrane photodamage caused by reactive oxygen species and analyzed the morphology and adhesive force properties. Tetra-positively charged and water-soluble metalloporphyrins may be promising antimycobacterial aPDT agents with potential applications in medical clinical cases and bioremediation.

Abstract
A novel visible-light-driven Z-scheme heterojunction, Bi2WO6/Ag2S/ZnS, was synthesized and its photocatalytic activity was evaluated for the treatment of a binary mixture of dyes, and its physicochemical properties were characterized using FT-IR, XRD, DRS and FE-SEM techniques. The Bi2WO6/Ag2S/ZnS Z-scheme heterojunctions not only facilitate the charge separation and transfer, but also maintain the redox ability of their components. The superior photocatalytic activity demonstrated by the Z-scheme Bi2WO6/Ag2S/ZnS attributes its unique properties such as the rapid generation of electron–hole pairs, slow recombination rate, and narrow bandgap. The performance of the Bi2WO6/Ag2S/ZnS was evaluated for the simultaneous degradation of methyl green (MG) and auramine-O (AO) dyes, while the influences of the initial MG concentration (4–12 mg L−1), initial AO concentration (2–6 mg L−1), pH (3–9), irradiation time (60–120 min) and photocatalyst dosage (0.008–0.016 g L−1) were investigated through the response surface methodology. The desirability function approach was applied to optimize the process and results revealed that maximum photocatalytic degradation efficiency was obtained at optimum conditions including 6.08 mg L−1 of initial MG concentration, 4.04 mg L−1 of initial AO concentration, 7.25 of pH, 90.58 min of irradiation time and 0.013 g L−1 of photocatalyst dosage. In addition, a possible photocatalytic mechanism of the Bi2WO6/Ag2S/ZnS heterojunction was proposed based on the photoinduced charge carriers. A Z-scheme Bi2WO6/Ag2S/ZnS heterojunction was successfully synthesized as a novel visible-light-driven photocatalyst for the degradation of multiple dye pollutants.![]()
