Abstract
Recent progress in synthesizing and integrating surface-supported metal-organic frameworks (SURMOFs) has highlighted their potential in developing hybrid electronic devices with exceptional mechanical flexibility, film processability, and cost-effectiveness. However, the low electrical conductivity of SURMOFs has limited their use in devices. To address this, researchers have utilized the porosity of SURMOFs to enhance electrical conductivity by incorporating conductive materials. This study introduces a method to improve the electrical conductivity of HKUST-1 templates by in situ polymerization of conductive polypyrrole (PPy) chains within the SURMOF pores (named as PPy@HKUST-1). Nanomembrane-origami technology is employed for integration, allowing a rolled-up metallic nanomembrane to contact the HKUST-1 films without causing damage. After a 24 h loading period, the electrical conductivity at room temperature reaches approximately 5.10-6 S m-1 . The nanomembrane-based contact enables reliable electrical characterization even at low temperatures. Key parameters of PPy@HKUST-1 films, such as trap barrier height, dielectric constant, and tunneling barrier height, are determined using established conduction mechanisms. These findings represent a significant advancement in real-time control of SURMOF conductivity, opening pathways for innovative electronic-optoelectronic device development. This study demonstrates the potential of SURMOFs to revolutionize hybrid electronic devices by enhancing electrical conductivity through intelligent integration strategies.

Abstract
Polypyrrole adhesion to indium-tin oxide electrodes was improved by adding pre-hydrolyzed alkoxysilanes to the electrodeposition media. The pyrrole oxidation and film growth rates were studied by potentiostatic polymerization in acidic media. The morphology and thickness of the films were studied by contact profilometry and surface-scanning electron microscopy. The bulk and surface semiquantitative chemical composition was studied by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Finally, the adhesion was studied by scotch-tape adhesion test, where both alkoxysilanes showed a significant improvement in adhesion. We proposed a hypothesis for the improvement in adhesion, that involves the formation of siloxane material as well as in situ surface modification of the transparent metal oxide electrode.

Abstract
The performance of supercapacitors strongly depends on the electrochemical characterizations of electrode materials. Herein, a composite material consisted of polypyrrole (PPy) and multilayer graphene-wrapped copper nanoparticles (PPy/MLG-Cu NPs) is fabricated on a flexible carbon cloth (CC) substrate via two-step synthesis process for supercapacitor application. Where, MLG-Cu NPs are prepared on CC by one-step chemical vapor deposition synthesis approach; thereafter, the PPy is further deposited on the MLG-Cu NPs/CC via electropolymerization. The related material characterizations of PPy/MLG-Cu NPs are well investigated by scanning electron microscopic, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectrometer and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; the electrochemical behaviors of the pertinent electrodes are studied by cyclic voltammogram, galvanostatic charge/discharge and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. The flexible electrode with PPy/MLG-Cu NPs composites exhibits the best specific capacitance of 845.38 F g-1at 1 A g-1, which is much higher than those of electrodes with PPy (214.30 F g-1), MLG-Cu NPs (6.34 F g-1), multilayer graphene hollow balls (MLGHBs; 52.72 F g-1), and PPy/MLGHBs (237.84 F g-1). Finally, a supercapacitor system consisted of four PPy/MLG-Cu NPs/CC electrodes can efficiently power various light-emitting diodes (i.e. red, yellow, green and blue lighs), demonstrating the practical application of PPy/MLG-Cu NPs/CC electrode.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with diverse composition, tunable structure, and unique physicochemical properties have emerged as promising materials in various fields. The tunable pore structure, abundant active sites, and ultrahigh specific surface area can facilitate mass transport and provide outstanding capacity, making MOFs an ideal active material for electrochemical energy storage and conversion. However, the poor electrical conductivity of pristine MOFs severely limits their applications in electrochemistry. Developing conductive MOFs has proved to be an effective solution to this problem. This review focuses on the design and synthesis of conductive MOF composites with judiciously chosen conducting materials, pristine MOFs, and assembly methods, as well as the preparation of intrinsically conductive MOFs based on building 2D π-conjugated structures, introducing mixed-valence metal ions/redox-active ligands, designing π-π stacked pathways, and constructing infinite metal-sulfur chains (-M-S-)∞ . Furthermore, recent progress and challenges of conductive MOFs for energy storage and conversion (supercapacitors, Li-ion batteries, Li-S batteries, and electrochemical water splitting) are summarized.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), known as porous coordination polymers, have attracted intense interest as electrode materials for supercapacitors (SCs) owing to their advantageous features including high surface area, tunable porous structure, structural diversity, etc. However, the insulating nature of most MOFs has impeded their further electrochemical applications. A common solution for this issue is to transform pristine MOFs into more stable and conductive metal compounds/porous carbon materials through pyrolysis, which however losses the inherent merits of MOFs. To find a consummate solution, recently a surge of research devoted to improving the electrical conductivity of pristine MOFs for SCs has been carried out. In this review, the most related research work on pristine MOF-based materials is reviewed and three effective strategies (chemical structure design of conductive MOFs (c-MOFs), composite design, and binder-free structure design) which can significantly increase their conductivity and consequently the electrochemical performance in SCs are proposed. The conductivity enhancement mechanism in each approach is well analyzed. The representative research works on using pristine MOFs for SCs are also critically discussed. It is hoped that the new insights can provide guidance for developing high-performance electrode materials based on pristine MOFs with high conductivity for SCs in the future.

Abstract
Phase change composites are in high demand in thermal management systems. Various supporting materials, including nanocomposites, have been employed to develop shape-stable phase change materials (PCMs). As the reliability of most composite materials has mostly been studied right after the preparation with specific thermal cycling measurements, it is difficult to analyze the long-term leakage-resistance capability and energy retention capacity. Additionally, achieving multifunctional phase change composites is a significant challenge for single supporting materials. Herein, we provide a follow-up report on the thermal performance of hybrid material-supported n-alkane after a storage time of one year and 50 heating/cooling cycles. The interconnected hybrid material composed of a metal-organic framework (MOF) and graphite improved the shape/thermal stability of tetradecane (TD). The as-synthesized MOF/graphite/TD composites exhibited a high latent heat retention capacity of 84.2%, low leakage rate of 1.25%, and high PCM loading capacity, making them suitable for thermal management applications, such as industrial waste heat recovery systems. Furthermore, the intermolecular interactions and capillary forces between the hybrid materials and TD provided high stability and compatibility. Therefore, the as-prepared hybrid material fabricated in this study can be important in the development of multidirectional composite PCMs with comprehensive thermal characteristics.

Abstract
New tin-based metal-phosphine complexes of [Sn(OH)4(PPh3)2] and [Sn(OH)2(PPh3)2] have been successfully synthesized and used as supercapacitor electrodes for the first time, exhibiting a high specific capacitance, a good rate capability, and an excellent cycling stability. The specific capacitances (highest specific capacitance for tin-based materials) of 1204F g-1 and 764F g-1 for two samples at a current density of 1 A g-1 in 6 M KOH can respectively be achieved, and their capacitance retention remained at 95.1% and 89.2% even after 15,000 cycles at a current density of 10 A g-1. Furthermore, a flexible quasi-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor composed of Sn(OH)2(PPh3)2 and activated carbon was assembled and exhibited a specific capacitance of 290.6 mF cm-2 at a current density of 1 mA cm-2. More importantly, this device also displayed excellent cyclic stability of ∼100% for 1800 cycles during the galvanostatic charge/discharge process at 5 mF cm-2.

Abstract
Metallic nanostructures (MNs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) play a pivotal role by articulating their significance in high-performance supercapacitors along with conducting polymers (CPs). The interaction and synergistic pseudocapacitive effect of MNs with CPs have contributed to enhance the specific capacitance and cyclic stability. Among various conjugated heterocyclic CPs, polypyrrole (PPy) (prevalently knows as “synthetic metal”) is exclusively studied because of its excellent physicochemical properties, ease of preparation, flexibility in surface modifications, and unique molecular structure–property relationships. Numerous researchers attempted to improve the low electronic conductivity of MNs and MOFs, by incorporating conducting PPy and/or used decoration strategy. This was succeeded by fine-tuning this objective, which managed to get outstanding supercapacitive performances. This brief technical note epitomizes various PPy-based metallic hybrid materials with different nano-architectures, emphasizing its technical implications in fabricating high-performance electrode material for supercapacitor applications.

Abstract
Supercapacitors (SCs), one of the most popular types of energy-storage devices, present lots of advantages, such as large power density and fast charge/discharge capability. Being the promising SCs electrode materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives have gained ever-increasing attention due to their large specific surface area, controllable porous structure and rich diversity. Herein, the recent development of MOFs-based materials and their application in SCs as the electrode are reviewed and summarized. The preparation method, the morphology of the materials and the electrical performance of various MOFs and their derivatives (such as carbon, metal oxide/hydroxide and metal sulfide) are briefly discussed. Most of recent works concentrate on Ni-, Co- and Mn-MOFs and their composites/derivatives. Conclusions and our outlook for the researches are also given, which would be a valuable guideline for the rational design of MOFs materials for SCs in the near future.
