Abstract
Bluish-white light-emitting materials are commonly used in LED lighting because they produce natural-looking light. Here we report the photoluminescent emission (PL) of novel, two-dimensional lead-free CsTiBr3 perovskite prepared via a two-stage deposition process. The formation of two-dimensional nanosheets of CsTiBr3 perovskite is confirmed by XRD, EDAX, and FESEM analysis. The height of the cesium bromide thin film substrate from the titanium bromide vapor source plays an important role in the formation of two-dimensional CsTiBr3. The CsTiBr3 perovskite nanosheets exhibit unique exciton- luminescence at 440 nm and self-trapped exciton emission at 595 nm which are the characteristics of two-dimensional halide structure, along with the band-to-band emission at 400 nm at an excitation wavelength of 340 nm. The resulting bluish-white light PL emission makes two-dimensional CsTiBr3 perovskite an alternative material to the traditional lead-based perovskite in LEDs, display technology, solid-state lighting, and various optoelectronic devices, addressing environmental concerns.

Abstract
As derivatives of metal halide perovskite materials, low-dimensional metal halide materials have become important materials that have attracted much attention in recent years. As one branch, zinc-based metal halides have the potential for practical applications due to their lead-free, low-toxicity and high-stability characteristics. However, pure zinc-based metal halide materials are still limited by their poor optical properties and cannot achieve large-scale practical applications. Therefore, in this work, we report an organic-inorganic hybrid zero-dimensional zinc bromide, (TDMP)ZnBr4, using transition metal Mn2+ ions as dopants and incorporating them into the (TDMP)ZnBr4 lattice. The original non-emissive (TDMP)ZnBr4 exhibits bright green emission under the excitation of external UV light after the introduction of Mn2+ ions with a PL peak position located at 538 nm and a PLQY of up to 91.2%. Through the characterization of relevant photophysical properties and the results of theoretical calculations, we confirm that this green emission in Mn2+:(TDMP)ZnBr4 originates from the 4T1 → 6A1 optical transition process of Mn2+ ions in the lattice structure, and the near-unity PLQY benefits from highly localized electrons generated by the unique zero-dimensional structure of the host material (TDMP)ZnBr4. This work provides theoretical guidance and reference for expanding the family of zinc-based metal halide materials and improving and controlling their optical properties through ion doping.

Abstract
In recent years, there has been a growing demand for luminescence anticounterfeiting materials that possess the properties of environmentally friendly, single-component, and multimode fluorescence. Among the materials explored, the low dimensional metal halides have gained wide attention because of unique characteristics including low toxicity, simple synthesis, good stability, and so on. Here, we synthesized Mn2+ and Sb3+ codoped Cs2ZnCl4 single crystals by a facile hydrothermal method. Under 365 nm excitation, the codoped compound exhibits dual-band emissions at 530 and 730 nm. However, under 316 nm excitation, the compound only shows one emission band from 500 to 850 nm peaking at 730 nm, while under 460 nm excitation, the emission from 500 to 650 nm with an emission peak at 530 nm can be observed. Based on the study of the photoluminescence mechanism, the green and red emissions originate from the Mn2+ located in the tetrahedron and self-trapped exciton emission of [SbCl4]- clusters, respectively. Due to the zero-dimensional structure of the Cs2ZnCl4 host, there is minimal energy transfer between these dopants. Consequently, the luminous ratios of the two emissions can be independently regulated. Except by tuning the dopant concentrations, the Cs2ZnCl4:Mn2+, Sb3+ demonstrates excitation-wavelength-dependent properties, which could emit more than two colors with the change of excitation wavelength. As a result, multimode anticounterfeiting based on Cs2ZnCl4:Mn2+, Sb3+ crystals has been designed, which aligns with the requirements of environmentally friendly, single-component, and multimode fluorescence properties.

Abstract
Metal halides have been explored with the aid of strong photoluminescence for optical and optoelectronic applications. However, the preparation of lead (Pb)-free solid-state emitters with high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) and tunable emission remains exceptionally challenging. Herein, we report metal ion (Cu(I), Mn(II), and Sn(II))-doped Cs3ZnI5 single crystals that are primary color (violet, green, and orange/red) emitters with extremely high PLQYs. Whereas the Mn-doping leads to bright green emissions with 100% PLQY, the Cu- and Sn-doping give rise to blue and red emissions with PLQYs of 57 and 64%, respectively. Interestingly, higher Mn doping results in white light emissive crystals as a side product, which are found to be Mn-doped CsI single crystals. The bright white light emissive crystals can be synthesized in a pure form in large quantities and exhibit a high color rendering index (CRI) of 78 and CIE coordinates of (0.30, 0.38), which are close to daylight conditions. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of white light emission from a complete inorganic system. Importantly, the single crystals of all colors exhibit high long-term stability as their PLQY remains unchanged even after 2 months of preparation, and are thermally stable up to 600 °C.

Abstract
One dimensional (1D) organic-inorganic halide hybrid perovskites have the advantages of excellent organic cation modifiability and diversity of inorganic framework structures, which cannot be ignored in the development of multi-functional phase-transition materials in photoelectric and photovoltaic devices. Here, we have successfully modified and synthesized an organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite photoelectric multifunctional phase-transition material: [C7 H13 ONCH2 F]⋅PbBr3 (1). The synergistic effect of the order double disorder transition of organic cations and the change of the degree of distortion of the inorganic framework leads to its high temperature reversible phase-transition point of Tc =374 K/346 K and its ultra-low loss high-quality dielectric switch response. Through in-depth research and calculation, compound 1 also has excellent semiconductor characteristics with a band gap of 3.06 eV and the photoluminescence characteristics of self-trapped exciton (STE) broadband emission. Undoubtedly, this modification strategy provides a new choice for the research field of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite reversible phase-transition photoelectric multifunctional materials with rich coupling properties.

Abstract
Low-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid halides, as an important branch of metal halide materials, have attracted much attention due to their excellent photoelectric properties. Herein, we designed one new hybrid cadmium chloride [C5H14NO]CdCl3 based on combinations of the d10 metal cation (Cd2+) and choline chloride molecules. [C5H14NO]CdCl3 single crystals belong to the orthorhombic Pna21 space group and show a one-dimensional (1D) structure with distorted [CdCl5O]5- octahedra. The second harmonic generation (SHG) response of [C5H14NO]CdCl3 exhibits an intensity of approximately 0.4 × KDP. Moreover, the photoluminescence properties of the [C5H14NO]CdCl3 crystal are activated by doping with Sn2+ ions having stereochemically active lone pair 5s2 electrons. Under UV excitation conditions, bright greenish-yellow light emission can be observed, and the quantum efficiency (PLQY) is as high as 91.27%. The luminescence mechanism is revealed by combining the results of temperature dependent luminescence and density functional theory (DFT) calculation. This work can serve as a guide for the design and synthesis of emerging optical materials.

Abstract
A series of novel perovskite single crystals are innovatively grown. Aiming to enhance the luminescence performance, octahedral distortion co-regulation via dual strategies for the as-prepared perovskite single crystals is performed. The distortion of the octahedral structure strengthens the electron-phonon coupling and electron localization, resulting in a more stable self-trapped state, which thereby increases the potential for radiative recombination, accompanied by the self-trapped exciton emission. Accordingly, the luminescence spectra of the as-prepared MA4In0.975Sb0.025Br7 single crystal can cover the 450-800 nm range, and the photoluminescence quantum yield is up to 81.25%.

Abstract
Single-component healthy white light was achieved via Mn2+ post-doping into blue perovskite nanoplates (NPLs). The white light consists of two complementary colors, sky-blue (482 nm) and orange-red (610 nm), without harmful deep blue light (400-450 nm), which realizes the Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.33, 0.33) (standard pure white light) and a color temperature of 6000 K. Benefitting from the lattice shrinking via Mn2+ doping, the stability of white NPLs toward long-term storage, UV light, heat, and polar solvents was greatly improved. Finally, a healthy and stable white light-emitting diode (WLED) was fabricated via down-conversion of a UV light LED with our white perovskite NPLs, and the WLED worked continuously for 240 minutes with a color drift of only (±0.006, ±0.004) and with a half lifetime (T50) of 212 minutes.

Abstract
Ultra-broadband near-infrared (NIR) luminescent materials are the most important component of NIR light-emitting devices (LED) and are crucial for their performance in sensing applications. A major challenge is to design novel NIR luminescent materials to replace the traditional Cr3+ -doped systems. We report an all-inorganic bismuth halide perovskite Cs2 AgBiCl6 single crystal that achieves efficient broadband NIR emission by introducing Na ions. Experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that the NIR emission originates from self-trapped excitons (STE) emission, which can be enhanced by weakening the strong coupling between electrons and phonons. The high photoluminescence quantum efficiency (PLQY) of 51 %, the extensive full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 270 nm and the stability provide advantages as a NIR luminescent material. The single-crystal-based NIR LED demonstrated its potential applications in NIR spectral detection as well as night vision.

Abstract
Low-dimensional metal halides are attractive for applications in photodetectors, solid-state lighting, and solar cells, but poor stability is an obstacle that must be overcome in commercial applications. Herein, we successfully synthesized a Ruddlesden-Popper (RP)-phased perovskite Mn2+:Cs3Cd2Cl7 with high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and outstanding thermal and environmental stability by a solvothermal method. The pristine sample Cs3Cd2Cl7 exhibits a weak cyan broad emission centered at 510 nm with a low PLQY of ∼4%. Once Mn2+ ions are introduced into the host lattice, a bright orange emission peaking at 580 nm with a high PLQY of ∼74% was achieved, which is attributed to the efficient energy transfer from the host to Mn2+ ions and thus results in the 4T1 → 6A1 radiation transition of Mn2+ ions. The photoluminescence (PL) intensity and environmental stability of Mn2+:Cs3Cd2Cl7 can be further improved through A-site Rb alloying. Finally, an orange LED with outstanding color stability was fabricated on the basis of the Mn2+:Cs3Cd2Cl7. Our work successfully elucidates that dopant plays an integral role in tailoring optical properties.

Abstract
The growing demand for optical anti-counterfeiting technology requires the development of new environmentally-friendly smart materials with single-component, multimodal fluorescence. Herein, Cs2ZnBr4:0.3Mn2+&0.15Cu+, as an efficient multimodal luminescent material with excitation-wavelength-dependent emission is reported. Under 365 nm and 254 nm UV light excitation, Cs2ZnBr4:Mn2+&Cu+emits mutually independent green light at 525 nm and blue light at 470 nm, which origin from the emission of Mn2+and the Cu+enhanced self-trapped excitons of Cs2ZnBr4, respectively. Furthermore, the multiexcitonic emission is applied to anti-counterfeiting applications and information encryption and decryption engineering. This codoped strategy provides a colorful step to expand the new metal halide materials in fluorescent anti-counterfeiting and information encryption and decryption.
