Abstract
Covering: 2016 to 2023The synthetic chemistry community is always in pursuit of efficient routes to natural products. Among the many available general strategies, skeletal reorganization, which involves the formation, cleavage, and migration of C-C and C-heteroatom bonds, stands out as a particularly useful approach for the efficient assembly of molecular skeletons. In addition, it allows for late-stage modification of natural products for quick access to other family members or unnatural derivatives. This review summarizes efficient syntheses of steroid, terpenoid, and alkaloid natural products that have been achieved by means of this strategy in the past eight years. Our goal is to illustrate the strategy's potency and reveal the spectacular human ingenuity demonstrated in its use and development.

Abstract
The sulfa-Michael addition reaction is a crucial subset of the Michael addition reaction, and aroused the interest of numerous synthetic biologists and chemists. In particular, sulfa-Michael addition triggered cascade reaction has developed quickly in recent years because it offers an efficient method to construct C-S bonds and other bonds in one approach, which is widely applicable for building chiral pharmaceuticals, their intermediates, and natural compounds. This review emphasizes the recent advancements in sulfa-Michael addition-triggered cascade reactions for the stereoselective synthesis of sulfur-containing compounds, including sulfa-Michael/aldol, sulfa-Michael/Henry, sulfa-Michael/Michael, sulfa-Michael/Mannich and some sulfa-Michael triggered multi-step processes. Moreover, some reaction mechanisms and derivatization experiments are introduced appropriately.

Abstract
An efficient and facile one-pot, five-component reaction for the synthesis of 2,6-diamino-1-alkyl-2-oxospiro[indoline-3,4′-thiopyran]-3,5-dicarbonitrile derivatives has been reported by a reaction between primary amines, carbon disulfide, malononitrile, and isatin derivatives. The major advantages of this procedure are high yields of products in relatively short reaction time, scalability, mild conditions, multi-component synthetic procedure, low catalyst loading, no column separation and simple reaction work-up. As a consequence, this synthetic procedure provided an efficient access to spirooxindole-annulated thiopyran derivatives.

Abstract
Several novel binaphthyl-based chiral hypervalent iodine(III) reagents have been prepared and structurally analysed. Various asymmetric oxidative reactions were applied to evaluate the reactivities and stereoselectivities of those reagents. Moderate to excellent yields were observed; however, very low stereoselectivities were obtained. NMR experiments indicated that these reagents are very easily hydrolysed in either chloroform or DMSO solvents leading to the limited stereoselectivities. It is concluded that the use of chiral ligands is an unsuccessful way to prepare efficient stereoselective iodine(III) reagents.

Abstract
Skeletal reorganization is a type of intriguing processes because of their interesting mechanism, high atom-economy and synthetic versatility. Herein, we describe an unusual, divergent skeletal reorganization of N-sulfonyl ynamides. Upon treatment with lithium diisopropylamine (LDA), N-sulfonyl ynamides undergo a skeletal reorganization to deliver thiete sulfones, while the additional use of 1,3-dimethyl-tetrahydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one (DMPU) shifts the process to furnish propargyl sulfonamides. This skeletal reorganization divergence features broad substrate scope and scalability. Mechanistically, experimental and computational studies reveal that these processes may initiate from a lithiation/4-exo-dig cyclization cascade, and the following ligand-dependent 1,3-sulfonyl migration or β-elimination would control the chemodivergence. This protocol additionally provides a facile access to a variety of privileged molecules from easily accessible ynamides. Skeletal reorganizations are intriguing processes in chemical synthesis due to their mechanism, atom-economy and synthetic versatility. Herein, the authors describe a divergent skeletal reorganization of N-sulfonyl ynamides to thiete sulfones and propargyl sulfonamides.

Abstract
Skeletal reorganization is a type of fascinating transformations owing to their intriguing mechanisms and utility in complex molecule synthesis. However, only a limited amount of examples are known for most functional groups. Herein, we describe such an unusual process of oxetanes. In the presence of In(OTf)3 as catalyst, oxetane-tethered anilines reacted unexpectedly to form 1,2-dihydroquinolines. This process not only provides expedient access to dihydroquinolines, but also represents a new reaction of oxetane. Mechanistically, it is believed that the reaction proceeds through initial nitrogen attack rather than arene attack followed by a series of bond cleavage and formation events. Control experiments provided important insights into the mechanism.

Abstract
Five new hydrogen peroxide adducts of phosphine oxides (p-Tol3PO·H2O2)2 (1), (o-Tol3PO·H2O2)2 (2), (o-Tol2PhPO·H2O2)2 (3), (p-Tol3PO)2·H2O2 (4), and (o-TolPh2PO)2·H2O2 (5), and the water adduct (o-Tol2PhPO·H2O)2 (6) have been synthesized and fully characterized. Their single crystal X-ray structures have been determined and analyzed. The IR and 31P NMR data are in accordance with strong hydrogen bonding of the hydrogen peroxide. The mono- versus dimeric nature of the adduct assemblies has been investigated by DOSY NMR experiments. Raman spectroscopy of the symmetric adducts and the ν(O-O) stretching bands confirm the presence of hydrogen-bonded hydrogen peroxide in the solid materials. The solubilities in organic solvents have been quantified. Due to the high solubilities of 1-6 in organic solvents their 17O NMR spectra could be recorded in natural abundance, providing well-resolved signals for the P[double bond, length as m-dash]O and O-O groups. The adducts 1-5 have been probed regarding their stability in solution at 105 °C. The decomposition of the adduct 1 takes place by loss of the active oxygen atoms in two steps.

Abstract
Cyclic β-oxoesters and arylhydrazine derivatives were converted at ambient temperature under modified Fischer indolization conditions to furnish annulated indolines with quaternary bridgehead carbon center. Reaction conditions were Brønsted acidic (with CF3 CO2 H), but also reductive (with Et3 SiH). The latter reduced intermediate iminium ions under formation of the 2,3-dihydroindole product constitutions. Racemic products (13 examples) were obtained as single diastereoisomers with relative cis-configuration, which was proved in two cases by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. Conversion of 4-bromo-1-indanone-2-carboxylate and 4-bromophenylhydrazine gave indeno[1,2-b]indolines with either 1-bromo, 8-bromo, or 1,8-dibromo substitution, which were further diversified by Suzuki coupling reactions with several arylboronic acids (nine examples).
