Abstract
Netrin-1 and its receptors play crucial roles in inducing axonal growth and neuronal migration during neuronal development. Their profound impacts then extend into adulthood to encompass the maintenance of neuronal survival and synaptic function. Increasing amounts of evidence highlight several key points: (1) Diminished Netrin-1 levels exacerbate pathological progression in animal models of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, and potentially, similar alterations occur in humans. (2) Genetic mutations of Netrin-1 receptors increase an individuals' susceptibility to neurodegenerative disorders. (3) Therapeutic approaches targeting Netrin-1 and its receptors offer the benefits of enhancing memory and motor function. (4) Netrin-1 and its receptors show genetic and epigenetic alterations in a variety of cancers. These findings provide compelling evidence that Netrin-1 and its receptors are crucial targets in neurodegenerative diseases. Through a comprehensive review of Netrin-1 signaling pathways, our objective is to uncover potential therapeutic avenues for neurodegenerative disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks third in cancer incidence globally and is the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality. The nucleoside diphosphate kinase 1 (NME1) and netrin 1 receptor (DCC) genes have been associated with resistance against tumorigenesis and tumor metastasis. This study investigates the potential association between NME1 (rs34214448 G > T and rs2302254 C > T) and DCC (rs2229080 G > C and rs714 A > G) variants and susceptibility to colorectal cancer development. METHODS Samples from 232 colorectal cancer patients and 232 healthy blood donors underwent analysis. Variants were identified using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) methodology. Associations were assessed using odds ratios (OR), and the p values were adjusted with Bonferroni test. RESULTS Individuals carrying the G/T and T/T genotypes for the NME1 rs34214448 variant exhibited a higher susceptibility for develop colorectal cancer (OR = 2.68, 95% CI: 1.76-4.09, P = 0.001 and OR = 2.47, 95% CI: 1.37-4.47, P = 0.001, respectively). These genotypes showed significant associations in patients over 50 years (OR = 2.87, 95% CI: 1.81-4.54, P = 0.001 and OR = 2.99, 95% CI: 1.54-5.79, P = 0.001 respectively) and with early Tumor-Nodule-Metastasis (TNM) stage (P = 0.001), and tumor location in the rectum (P = 0.001). Furthermore, the DCC rs2229080 variant revealed that carriers of the G/C genotype had an increased risk for develop colorectal cancer (OR = 2.00, 95% CI: 1.28-3.11, P = 0.002) and were associated with age over 50 years, sex, and advanced TNM stages (P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS These findings suggest that the NME1 rs34214448 and DCC rs2229080 variants play a significant role in colorectal cancer development.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gallbladder carcinoma is a malignant epithelial tumor of gallbladder with a high degree of malignancy. However, relationship between KNTC1 and MCM2 and gallbladder cancer is unclear. METHODS GSE139682 and GSE202479 were downloaded from gene expression omnibus (GEO). Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened. Functional enrichment analysis and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) were performed. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) Network was constructed and analyzed. Gene expression heat map was drawn. Comparative toxicogenomics database (CTD) analysis was performed to find diseases most related to core genes. TargetScan was performed for screening miRNAs that regulated central DEGs. RESULTS 230 DEGs were identified. According to GObp analysis, they were mainly concentrated in regulation of ossification, regulation of spindle microtubule and centromere attachment, cytoskeleton tissue of cortical actin. According to GOcc analysis, they are mainly concentrated in plasma membrane part, cell junction, plasma membrane region and anterior membrane. According to GOmf analysis, they are mainly enriched in protein homodimerization activity, proximal promoter sequence-specific DNA binding and sulfur compound binding. KEGG showed that target genes were mainly enriched in Hippo signal pathway, p53 signal pathway and cancer pathway. KIFC2, TUBG1, RACGAP1, CHMP4C, SFN and MYH11 were identified as core genes. Gene expression heat map showed that KNTC1, MCM2, CKAP2, RACGAP1, CCNB1 were highly expressed in gallbladder carcinoma samples. CTD analysis showed that KNTC1, MCM2, CKAP2, RACGAP1, CCNB1 were associated with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, necrosis, inflammation and hepatomegaly. CONCLUSIONS KNTC1 and MCM2 are highly expressed in gallbladder cancer. Higher expression level correlates with worse prognosis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study retrospectively investigated the effects of target nursing care (TNC) on anxiety and depression in patients with gallbladder cancer (GBC) during the perioperative period. METHODS This retrospective study analyzed the data of 80 patients with GBC during perioperative period. These records were divided into an intervention group (n = 40) or a control group (n = 40). All 80 patient records in both groups were administered routine nursing care (RNC). The patients in the intervention group also underwent TNC. The primary outcomes were depression (measured using the Hamilton Depression Scale, HAMD) and anxiety (assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Scale, HAMA). The secondary outcomes were quality of life (assessed using the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey, SF-36) and adverse events. We collected and analyzed the outcome data before and after treatment. RESULTS After treatment, patients in the intervention group showed more promising effects on depression (HAMD, P < .01) and anxiety (HAMA, P < .01) than those in the control group did. However, there were no significant differences in the quality of life before and after treatment. No TNC- or RNC-associated adverse events were reported in patient records. CONCLUSION This study found that TNC was more effective than RNC in relieving depression and anxiety. Future studies should be conducted to validate the present findings.
