Abstract
Four undescribed flavonoid glucosides (iridins B-C, tectoridin A and ampelopsinin A); one undescribed phenolic glucoside (diplostephioside B); one undescribed phenolic compound (phenanthrenetriol A); and seventeen known compounds were isolated from the rhizomes of Iris domestica. The chemical structures of the undescribed compounds were established by spectroscopic/spectrometric data interpretation using HRESIMS, NMR, and ECD. Tectoridin A, nigricin A and naringenin exhibited anti-inflammatory activities with inhibition rates of 53.71%, 57.68% and 88.71%, respectively, against the NF-κB signaling pathway at a concentration of 10 μM. 4'-O-methylnyasol (10 μM) exhibited 84.91% antiproliferative activity against the K562 human leukemia cell line with an IC50 value of 4.20 μM.

Abstract
A pair of stilbenes with γ-lactam unit [(+)-1 and (-)-1], a new phenolic glucoside (2), and a new isoflavone glucoside (3), together with two known compounds (4-5) were isolated from the rhizomes of Belamcanda chinensis. The chemical structures of the undescribed compounds were elucidated on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analyses. Compounds 1, 4, and 5 (10 μM) exhibited anti-inflammatory activities with inhibition rates of 30.46%, 60.34%, and 37.91%, respectively, against the NF-κB signaling pathway.

Abstract
A pair of new lignans [(+)- 1 and (-)- 1] and three new compounds (2-4), together with a known compound 5, were isolated from the fruits of Xanthium italicum Moretti. The structures of these compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, particularly HR-ESI-MS and 1 D and 2 D NMR. Compounds 2 and 3 showed antinociceptive effects in an acetic acid-induced writhing test in mice with the writhe inhibition rates of 80.50% and 67.89% at the dose of 20 mg/kg, respectively.

Abstract
Herbaceous annual plants of the genus Xanthium are widely distributed throughout the world and have been employed medicinally for millennia. This contribution aims to provide a systematic overview of the diverse structural classes of Xanthium secondary metabolites, as well as their pharmacological potential. On searching in various reference databases with a combination of three keywords "Xanthium", "Phytochemistry", and "Pharmacology", relevant publications have been obtained subsequently. From the 1950s to the present, phytochemical investigations have focused mainly on 15 Xanthium species, from which 300 compounds have been isolated and structurally resolved, primarily using NMR spectroscopic methodology. Xanthium constituents represent several secondary metabolite types, including simple phenols, sulfur and nitrogen-containing compounds, lignans, sterols, flavonoids, quinones, coumarins, and fatty acids, with terpenoids being the most common of these. Among the 174 terpenoids characterized, xanthanolide sesquiterpenoids are abundant, and most of the compounds isolated containing sulfur were found to be new in Nature. The ethnomedical uses of Xanthium crude extracts are supported by the in vitro and in vivo effects of their constituents, such as cytotoxicity, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetes, and hepatoprotective activities. Toxicological results suggest that Xanthium plant extracts are generally safe for use. In the future, additional phytochemical investigations, along with further assessments of the biological profiles and mechanism of action studies of the components of Xanthium species, are to be expected.

Abstract
The chemical investigation of the fruits of Xanthium strumarium (Asteraceae) led to the isolation of two new ent-kauranoid glucosides named 2-O-(6-O-isocaleryl-β-D-glucopyranosyl) atractyligenin (1) and 2-O-(2-O-isovaleryl-β-D-glucopyranosyl) atractyligenin (2), together with one known compound. Their structures were established by comprehensive spectroscopic analysis coupled with single-crystal X-ray diffraction and electronic circular dichroism data. All compounds and their aglycone were evaluated for their anti-proliferative activities in vitro against three human cancer cell lines.
