Abstract
The average current life expectancy entails that women will spend over one-third of their lives in menopause. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels in women begin to increase roughly six years before the final menstrual period, reaching a menopausal plateau that is nearly 14 times the level of FSH observed in men, a profound sex-specific difference. A promising new body of work examines whether these age-associated increases in FSH contribute to multiple menopause-related conditions, including psychiatric morbidities. This paper highlights research advances showing the potential role of FSH and its underlying mechanisms in mental health conditions for women in menopause and makes the call for more research.

Abstract
Perimenopause is often called a window of vulnerability for the development or exacerbation of mood and anxiety disorders. Evidence points to social and psychological factors contributing to the onset of mood and anxiety disorders or the symptoms of depression and anxiety during perimenopause. Therefore, the purpose of this narrative review was to synthesize the findings of studies examining associations between social and psychological factors and the development of mood and anxiety disorders and the symptoms of depression and anxiety during perimenopause. PsychINFO, Ovid MEDLINE, and CINAHL were searched for studies (published between January 2014 and November 2023) assessing the social and psychological factors associated with perimenopausal mood and anxiety disorders and the symptoms of depression and anxiety. These factors were categorized as either protective or harmful. Study quality was assessed using STROBE guidelines. The search yielded 17 studies. Social support was identified as a social factor protective against perimenopausal depression and anxiety. Resiliency characteristics were reported to be protective psychological factors associated with fewer depressive symptoms. Mental health history, family history of major depressive disorder, trait anxiety and neuroticism, stressful life events, adverse childhood events, and chronic stress were categorized as harmful psychological factors associated with depression during perimenopause. Limited research has been conducted to understand factors associated with perimenopausal anxiety. The identification of these social and psychological factors associated with mood and anxiety disorders during perimenopause will help lead to earlier detection of women at risk and the development of multifaceted interventions.

Abstract
Introduction During the peripartum, women undergo significant hormonal changes that are crucial for fetal development and a healthy pregnancy and postpartum period for mother and infant. Although several studies have determined healthy norm ranges of estradiol and progesterone, there are discrepancies among the reports, rendering it unclear which hormone levels are linked to adverse health outcomes. To account for the impact of sex steroid patterns on health outcomes in mothers and children, a longitudinal assessment of different parameters is needed. Materials and methods We longitudinally assessed a cohort of 130 women over five months during pregnancy and postpartum. The women provided saliva samples and completed psychosocial questionnaires. Hormone analyses were conducted using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Different parameters of estradiol and progesterone were analyzed and evaluated in relation to psychometric variables. To examine the presence of heterogenous hormonal trajectories in the peripartum, we applied group-based trajectory modelling as a special case of latent-class group analysis. Results Estradiol and progesterone levels rose towards the end of pregnancy and dropped sharply after birth, with considerable individual variation, particularly during pregnancy. However, their ratio remained stable. We identified three estradiol trajectory subgroups and two progesterone subgroups. Age influenced progesterone levels, with older pregnant women having higher levels than younger women. Anxiety and depressive symptoms had a predictive value for trajectories of specific subgroups of women. The study also revealed two distinct subgroups regarding the course of estradiol and progesterone fluctuations as well as their ratio. Conclusion This study provides insights into the course and fluctuation of salivary estradiol and progesterone levels among healthy women during the peripartum period, highlighting significant variations in hormone levels but stability in their ratio during this time. The finding of distinct sex steroid courses in the peripartum is new and suggests the need for further research to explore their impact on health outcomes. Our preliminary results suggest that hormonal fluctuations at the end of pregnancy appear to be a normal occurrence and might even be a protective factor for associated psychological symptoms and sleep disturbances in women.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Fluctuating estradiol (E2) levels seem to be associated with menopausal symptoms, though not all women suffer from these symptoms to the same extent despite experiencing these hormonal changes. This suggests underlying, interindividual mechanisms, such as single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) influencing estrogen receptors α and β, and the g-protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER). As research is scarce, we aimed to address this research gap by assessing genetic traits, E2 levels, and menopausal symptoms longitudinally. STUDY DESIGN 129 perimenopausal women (aged 40-56 years) participated in the 13-month longitudinal Swiss Perimenopause Study. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Menopausal symptoms were assessed fortnightly using the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS II). Salivary E2 levels were assessed 14 times over two non-consecutive months. Blood samples were collected using the dried blood spot (DBS) technique to analyze ESR1 rs2234693, ESR1 rs9340799, ESR2 rs1256049, ESR2 rs4906938, and GPER rs3808350. Group-based trajectory modeling was performed to identify interindividual trajectories of menopausal symptoms. Multinomial logistic regression models were employed to identify factors associated with these trajectories. RESULTS Four distinct trajectory groups of menopausal symptoms were identified (increase, moderate, rebound, decrease). ER gene polymorphisms and E2 fluctuation were significantly associated with group membership. Furthermore, ER gene polymorphisms modulated the effect of E2 fluctuations on menopausal symptom trajectory. CONCLUSIONS This study illuminates the multifaceted factors contributing to the individuality of the perimenopausal experience. ER gene polymorphisms emerged as integral factors by modulating the effect of E2 fluctuations on menopausal symptom trajectory. This underscores the intricate interplay of genetic factors, E2 fluctuations, and menopausal symptoms during perimenopause.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The perimenopausal transition is accompanied by psychiatric symptoms in over 10% of women. Symptoms commonly include depressed mood and anhedonia and less commonly include psychosis. Psychiatric symptoms have been linked to the depletion and/or variability of circulating estradiol, and estradiol treatment reduces perimenopausal anhedonia and psychosis in some women. Estrogen fluctuations may disrupt function in the mesolimbic reward system in some women, leading to psychiatric symptoms like anhedonia or psychosis. The Perimenopausal Effects of Estradiol on Anhedonia and Psychosis Study (PEEPs) is a mechanistic clinical trial that aims to (1) identify relationships between perimenopausal-onset anhedonia and psychosis and neuromolecular markers of mesolimbic reward responses and (2) determine the extent to which estradiol treatment-induced changes in mesolimbic reward responses are associated with alleviation of perimenopausal onset anhedonia or psychosis. METHODS This study will recruit 100 unmedicated women ages 44-55 in the late-stage perimenopausal transition, sampling across the range of mild-to-high anhedonia and absent-to-moderate psychosis symptoms. Patients will be randomized to receive either estradiol or placebo treatment for 3 weeks. Clinical outcome measures will include symptoms of anhedonia (measured with Snaith-Hamilton Pleasure Scale; SHAPS) and psychosis (measured with Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale; BPRS psychosis subscale) as well as neural markers of mesolimbic reward system functioning, including reward-related fMRI activation and PET-derived measure of striatal dopamine binding. Pre-treatment associations between (1) SHAPS/BPRS scores and (2) reward-related striatal dopamine binding/BOLD activation will be examined. Furthermore, longitudinal mixed models will be used to estimate (1) symptom and neuromolecular trajectories as a function of estradiol vs. placebo treatment and (2) how changes in reward-related striatal dopamine binding and BOLD activation predict variability in symptom trajectories in response to estradiol treatment. DISCUSSION This clinical trial will be the first to characterize neural and molecular mechanisms by which estradiol treatment ameliorates anhedonia and psychosis symptoms during the perimenopausal transition, thus laying the groundwork for future biomarker research to predict susceptibility and prognosis and develop targeted treatments for perimenopausal psychiatric symptoms. Furthermore, in alignment with the National Institute for Mental Health Research Domain Criteria initiative, this trial will improve our understanding of a range of disorders characterized by anhedonia, psychosis, and reward system dysfunction. Abstract
BACKGROUND Depressive symptoms are common in the peripartum period and pose a great risk to the well-being of the mother, the infant, and the entire family. Evidence from longitudinal studies suggests that affected women do not constitute one homogeneous group in terms of severity, chronicity, and onset of symptoms. To account for individual differences regarding the longitudinal course of depressive symptoms from pregnancy to the postpartum period, growth mixture models have proven to be useful. METHODS We conducted a group-based trajectory modeling analysis to identify perinatal depressive symptom trajectories in a Swiss sample (n = 151). Depressive symptoms were assessed six times, covering nearly 6 months from the third trimester of pregnancy to 3 months postpartum. In addition to determining perinatal depressive symptom trajectories, we aimed to examine whether these trajectories are linked to psychopathological risk factors such as a history of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), anxiety, prenatal stress, and somatic symptoms after delivery that are associated with hormonal fluctuations. RESULTS The findings revealed three trajectories of perinatal depressive symptoms that were relatively stable over time and differed in symptom load (low, medium, high), as well as one trajectory of decreasing symptoms, with a significant symptom reduction after giving birth. Women with a higher depressive symptom load experienced a greater degree of prior premenstrual symptoms, prenatal anxiety, and birth anxiety, as well as somatic symptoms after delivery. CONCLUSION Further research is needed to account for the distinct trajectories of perinatal depressive symptoms in order to provide appropriate care for affected women. A focus on somatic symptoms after delivery and their association with depressive mood is essential to better understand the potential shared etiopathology of reproductive transition phase mood disorders.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Recent research suggests that binge eating may be more prevalent among women in midlife than previously believed. The menopausal transition, an important developmental stage during midlife, is characterized by substantial fluctuations and eventual decreases in ovarian hormones that may contribute to increased risk. This narrative review summarizes findings from studies of binge eating during midlife and menopause and discusses the potential role of ovarian hormones in binge eating risk. RECENT FINDINGS Studies are few in number and findings are mixed, with only some studies showing increased binge eating during midlife and the menopausal transition. Sensitivity to ovarian hormones, potentially through gene x hormone interactions, may influence who experiences increased binge eating risk and could help explain mixed findings in the field. Future studies of hormone sensitivity and gene x hormone interactions are needed to further elucidate midlife and menopausal risk for binge eating in women.

Abstract
Midlife in women typically includes the menopausal transition, a time of hormonal transformation, adaptation, and reorganization. Coincident with this dynamic period of physiological change, there are putatively modifiable factors that influence disease, short-term and long-term health outcomes, symptom emergence, and longevity. The menopause transition could be considered a window of vulnerability; however, it is also a window of opportunity for intervention. Thus, the menopause transition is a critical sensitive window whereby there is opportunity for turning points for healthy aging trajectories. Preclinical research can aid in this pursuit of scientific discovery for modifiable factors and treatments, and their particular parameters. Rodent menopause models include surgical and transitional variations, allowing detection of precise determinants impacting menopause-related outcomes. These models permit systematic manipulation of endogenous and exogenous hormone exposures across the lifespan, with infinite outcome measurements ranging from molecular to behavioral. This research is uniquely poised to address complex, interactive hypotheses with extensive control in a relatively short timeframe, including dissociation of age and menopause effects. To understand the many dynamic changes with menopause, iterative and reciprocal communication between clinical and preclinical domains of science is key.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The menopausal transition involves multiple biological and psychosocial challenges that may render middle-aged women vulnerable to body image concerns. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to summarize evidence on the associations between menopause and body image perception in healthy middle-aged women. DESIGN This study is a systematic review of observational studies. DATA SOURCES AND METHODS Menopause-related exposure measures included menopausal stages, menopausal symptoms, and reproductive hormone levels during the menopausal transition. Studies investigating body image as an outcome, including through a positive (e.g. body self-esteem) or negative (e.g. body dissatisfaction) lens, were considered eligible. Articles published before March 2023 were identified through MEDLINE, PsycINFO, and Embase and underwent double screening, extraction, and quality assessment by two independent investigators. Characteristics and results were summarized using narrative synthesis. RESULTS A total of 820 non-duplicate records were identified, with 18 observational studies deemed eligible for inclusion after full-text screening. All studies investigating menopausal symptoms and body image (n = 6) found some significant association between them, with a higher frequency, intensity, or number of symptoms being associated with greater body image concern. Differences in body image perception between menopausal stages were inconsistent across studies (n = 12), while evidence of potential associations between reproductive hormones and body image was minimal (n = 2). Findings should be interpreted with caution as 17 of the included studies used a cross-sectional design, and not all studies adjusted their analyses for relevant confounders. CONCLUSION Overall, menopausal symptoms showed relatively consistent associations with a more negative body image perception. Additional research is required to understand the potential role of menopausal stages and reproductive hormone levels in the body image perception of middle-aged women and to confirm the direction of reported associations. Abstract
Certain women develop depression with fluctuations in hormone levels whereas other women do not; this hormonally driven depression has been termed reproductive depression. The pathophysiology of reproductive depression differs from that of major depressive disorder, and this distinction has important clinical-including treatment-implications. Recent advances have revealed that the neurosteroid, allopregnanolone, plays a central role in reproductive depression. Appreciation of allopregnanolone's role in reproductive depression aids in selecting targeted treatments and in predicting symptom worsening during subsequent reproductive stages, and it can be used to reduce risk of relapse. This knowledge is also guiding the development of new pharmacologic treatments for reproductive depression.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Saliva cortisol is considered to be a biomarker of depression prediction. However, saliva collection methods can affect the saliva cortisol level. OBJECTIVE This study aims to determine the ideal saliva collection method and explore the application value of saliva cortisol in depression prediction. METHODS 30 depressed patients and 30 healthy controls were instructed to collect saliva samples in the morning with six collection methods. Simultaneous venous blood was collected. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the cortisol level. The 24-observerrated Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD-24) was used to assess the severity of depression. RESULTS The significant differences in saliva cortisol levels depend on the saliva collection methods. The level of unstimulated whole saliva cortisol was most correlated with blood (r = 0.91). The stimulated parotid saliva cortisol can better predict depression. The area under the curve was 0.89. In addition, the saliva cortisol level of the depression patients was significantly higher than the healthy controls. The correlation between the cortisol level and the HAMD-24 score was highly significant. The higher the saliva cortisol level, the higher the HAMD-24 score. CONCLUSIONS All the above findings point to an exciting opportunity for non-invasive monitoring of cortisol through saliva.

Abstract
The topic of this article is the biopsychosocial model. My main contention is that - notwithstanding doubts as to what exactly it is, or indeed whether it is anything - there is a coherent account of it, in terms of both applications to particular health conditions and mechanisms with wide application. There is accumulating evidence from recent decades that psychosocial as well as biological factors are implicated in the aetiology and treatment of a large range of physical as well as mental health conditions. The original proposer of the biopsychosocial model, George Engel, back in 1977, was substantially correct about what he saw was on its way.

Abstract
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is an incapacitating condition characterized by loss of interest, anhedonia and low mood, which affects almost 4% of people worldwide. With rising prevalence, it is considered a public health issue that affects economic productivity and heavily increases health costs alone or as a comorbidity for other pandemic non-communicable diseases (such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases, etc.). What is even more noteworthy is the double number of women suffering from MDD compared to men. In fact, this sex-related ratio has been contemplated since men and women have different sexual hormone oscillations, where women meet significant changes depending on the age range and moment of life (menstruation, premenstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause…), which seem to be associated with susceptibility to depressive symptoms. For instance, a decreased estrogen level promotes decreased activation of serotonin transporters. Nevertheless, sexual hormones are not the only triggers that alter neurotransmission of monoamines and other neuropeptides. Actually, different dietary habits and/or nutritional requirements for specific moments of life severely affect MDD pathophysiology in women. In this context, the present review aims to descriptively collect information regarding the role of malnutrition in MDD onset and course, focusing on female patient and especially macro- and micronutrient deficiencies (amino acids, ω3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω3 PUFAs), folate, vitamin B12, vitamin D, minerals…), besides providing evidence for future nutritional intervention programs with a sex-gender perspective that hopefully improves mental health and quality of life in women.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We aimed to describe the prevalence of various mental health symptoms according to menopausal status (pre, peri, post) among women living with HIV ages 45-60 in England, and to identify groups of women with similar general and menopause-related mental health symptoms. We then investigated demographic predictors of group-membership and group differences in HIV-related care outcomes (antiretroviral therapy adherence, HIV clinic attendance, CD4-count, and last HIV viral load). METHODS An analysis of cross-sectional data from the Positive Transitions through Menopause study, an observational study of the health and well-being impacts of menopause on 869 women with HIV aged 45-60 years. Self-reported data on eight mental health indicators were collected from women in pre-, peri- and post-menopausal state using validated measures. Groups (termed "classes") of women with similar mental health symptoms were derived via latent class analysis. Class membership was linked to demographic factors using nominal logistic regression, and to clinical outcomes using Wald tests. RESULTS We identified five classes: 1) few mental health symptoms (n = 501, 57.8%); 2) high current anxiety/depression (n = 120, 13.8%); 3) history of depression, with elevated current substance use (n = 40, 4.6%); 4) history of depression with current psychological menopause symptoms (n = 81, 9.3%); and 5) high previous and concurrent mental health problems (n = 125, 14.4%). University attendance, ethnicity, and longer time since HIV diagnosis predicted class membership. Antiretroviral therapy adherence was lower in classes 3 (11%), 4 (19%) and 5 (24%) compared to class 1 (4%; all P<0.001). Members of class 5 were more likely to have missed ≥1 HIV clinic appointment in the past year than those in class 1 (34% vs 17%, P = 0.005). CONCLUSIONS Women with a history of depression, current anxiety/depression, and current menopause-related mental health symptoms were more likely to have poorer clinical outcomes. Although we cannot comment on causality, our findings highlight the importance of assessing and managing menopausal symptoms and mental health to improve well-being and engagement in HIV care.

Abstract
Background: Perimenopause is characterized by a decline in the steroid hormones, estradiol, and progesterone. By contrast, the steroid hormone cortisol, a marker of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, increases. Recent longitudinal studies reported fluctuations in steroid hormone levels during perimenopause, and even increases in estradiol levels. To understand these confounding results, it is necessary to conduct a longitudinal, highly standardized assessment of steroid hormone secretion patterns in perimenopausal women. Methods: This longitudinal study investigated 127 perimenopausal women aged 40–56 years for 13 months. Estradiol, progesterone, and cortisol were assessed using saliva samples, which were collected for two (during months 2 and 12 for estradiol and progesterone) or three (during months 2, 7, and 12 for cortisol) non-consecutive months over the course of the study. A total of 14 saliva samples per participant were analyzed to investigate the courses of estradiol and progesterone. Cortisol awakening response and fluctuations of cortisol throughout the day were measured using a total of 11 saliva samples per participant (on awakening, +30 min, +60 min, at 12:00 p.m., and before going to bed) for months 2, 7, and 12. Results: Multilevel analyses revealed variance in intercept and slope across participants for estradiol [intercept: SD = 5.16 (95% CI: 4.28, 6.21), slope: SD = 0.50 (95% CI: 0.39, 0.64)], progesterone [intercept: SD = 34.77 (95% CI: 25.55, 47.31), slope: SD = 4.17 (95% CI: 2.91, 5.99)], and cortisol (intercept: SD = 0.18 (95% CI: 0.14, 0.23), slope: SD = 0.02 (95% CI: 0.01, 0.02)]. Time predicted cortisol levels [b = −0.02, t(979) = −6.63, p < 0.0001]. Perimenopausal status (early vs. late) did not predict estradiol [b = −0.36, t(1608) = −0.84, p = 0.400], progesterone [b = −4.55, t(1723) = −0.87, p = 0.385], or cortisol [b = 0.01, t(1124) = 0.61, p = 0.542] scores over time. Discussion: Our results are consistent with previous findings emphasizing highly individual fluctuations of estradiol and progesterone levels during perimenopause. However, our findings do not suggest a continuous decline during the observed transition phase, implying relatively stable periods of fluctuating hormone levels. Furthermore, given the lack of significant group differences, it may not be necessary to differentiate between early and late perimenopause from the standpoint of hormonal progression.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of aerobics training on anxiety, depression and sleep disturbance in perimenopausal women. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 289 perimenopausal women with anxiety, depression or sleep disorder in Lishi district of Luliang city were treated with aerobics training. Self-rating anxiety scale, self-rating depression scale and Pittsburgh sleep scale were used to investigate the anxiety, depression and sleep status of perimenopausal women before and after intervention. RESULTS After aerobics training, the scores of self-rating anxiety scale, self-rating depression scale and Pittsburgh sleep questionnaire were 48.26 ± 6.47, 50.27 ± 6.54 and 10.64 ± 4.38, respectively. The levels of anxiety, depression and sleep disorder in 289 subjects were significantly lower than those before intervention (t = 3.865, 4.541, 5.596, P < 0.01). The remission rate of symptoms was significantly different in subjects with different frequency of spontaneous practice (P < 0.01), and the higher the number of spontaneous practice, the higher the remission rate of anxiety, depression and sleep disorders in subjects (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION aerobics training can effectively improve the anxiety and depression of perimenopausal women, improve sleep quality, the more frequency of practice, the more obvious the effect. It can be used as an intervention to improve the mental health level of perimenopausal women in terms of anxiety, depression and sleep quality in clinical promotion.

Abstract
The menopause transition, which constitutes the five or so years surrounding the final menstrual period, has been established as a time of increased risk for depressive symptoms. While mounting research suggests that exposure to more extreme and fluctuating levels of estradiol (E2) plays a role, it remains unclear which specific trigger is most strongly implicated in the development of depressive mood: acute E2 withdrawal or extreme increases in E2. The current review summarises the literature supporting the role of each, considering research pertaining to perimenopausal depression as well as other reproductive mood disorders in which ovarian hormone change is believed to play a key role, namely premenstrual dysphoric disorder and postpartum depression. Taking together the available research pertaining to the various reproductive mood disorders, we propose that women may exhibit one of four E2 sensitivity profiles, each of which may have important implications for the expected timing and severity of depressive mood during the menopause transition: the E2-increase sensitive profile, developing depressive mood in response to elevations in E2, the E2-decrease sensitive profile, for whom E2 withdrawal triggers negative mood, the E2-change sensitive profile, characterised by mood sensitivity to E2 change in either direction, and the E2 insensitive profile for whom changes in E2 have negligible psychological effects. The evidence supporting the existence of such profiles are summarised, potential biological mechanisms are briefly highlighted, and implications for future research are discussed.

Abstract
Women's increased risk for depression during reproductive transitions suggests an involvement of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis. This is the first systematic review and meta-analysis of HPO functioning in female mood disorders. Inclusionary criteria were: i) women suffering from premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) or a depressive disorder, ii) assessment of HPO-axis related biomarkers, iii) a case-control design. Sixty-three studies (N = 5,129) were included. There was evidence for PMDD to be paralleled by lower luteal oestradiol levels. Women with depression unrelated to reproductive transition showed lower testosterone levels than healthy controls and there was some evidence for lower dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate levels. There were no differences in HPO-related parameters between women with pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopausal depression and controls. Women with PMDD and depression unrelated to reproductive transitions exhibit specific changes in the HPO-axis, which potentially contribute to their symptoms. Further research into reproductive mood disorders characterised by extreme endocrine changes is warranted.

Abstract
While resilience seems to be associated with a variety of biological markers, studies assessing such correlates in women during the perimenopause are lacking. The perimenopause constitutes a phase of major biopsychosocial changes, during which the sex hormones estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) eventually decrease significantly. The aim of this study was to examine the extent to which the declining levels of E2 and P4 serve as resilience markers in perimenopausal women. In 129 healthy perimenopausal women aged 40-56 years, saliva samples were collected on every fourth day over a period of four weeks in order to investigate E2 and P4 levels. All participants completed psychosocial questionnaires including variables related to resilience, well-being, and mental health. Perimenopausal status was determined using the Stages of Reproductive Aging Workshop (STRAW) criteria. The results indicate that P4 is linked to psychosocial resilience. More precisely, women with higher P4 levels seem to be more resilient than women with lower P4 levels, irrespective of the perimenopausal status. No such relation was found for E2 levels. Further analyses revealed that women with higher P4 levels experience significantly higher life satisfaction, lower perceived stress, and lower depressive symptoms than women with lower P4 levels. Accordingly, P4 can be considered as a biological marker of resilience in perimenopause.
