Abstract
Purpose To report a case of paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM) following Hepatitis B vaccine in a child. Observations A 12-year-old healthy female presented with a paracentral scotoma in the right eye due to PAMM, likely associated with a recent Hepatitis B vaccine. Conclusions Despite the great importance of vaccines, it is critical to promptly recognize their rare ocular complications, such as the vaccine associated PAMM described in this report.

Abstract
Purpose: To report acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) in two young women two days after receiving Vaxzevria Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination.Methods: Observational case reports.Observation: The first patient was an Italian 22-year-old female with acute onset of paracentral scotoma two days post vaccination. The second patient was an Austrian 28-year-old female who presented with sudden onset paracentral scotoma two days after vaccination. Multimodal retinal imaging was consistent with AMN in both cases. Both patients were on long-term oral contraceptives, had no history of COVID-19 and experienced one-day duration fever the day after the vaccination.Conclusions: Vaccination may represent a possible risk factor for AMN onset in women on oral contraceptives. We encourage ophthalmologists to investigate recent vaccination status when dealing with new onset AMN. Further studies are needed to assess the link between vaccinations and AMN.

Abstract
Purpose We report the case of a 33-year-old male who presented with unilateral central serous retinopathy three days after the injection of a COVID-19 vaccine. Observations A 33-year-old healthy Hispanic male referred to the ophthalmology service due to blurry vision and metamorphopsia in the right eye without any flashes, floaters, eye redness or pain. The patient reported that 69 hours prior to presentation he received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. He denied any past ocular history or pertinent medical history. He does not take any medicines and denies stressful factors in his life. The clinical examination and imaging tests were consistent with central serous retinopathy that resolved in three months. Conclusions and importance This is the first report of an ocular complication potentially associated with a COVID-19 vaccination. Our case contributes information of a side effect potentially related to this new vaccine.

Abstract
The Food and Drug Administration has licensed, approved, and expanded guidelines for dozens of vaccines since 2010. Although advancements in biotechnology have made vaccines more effective and safer, none are completely free from adverse effects. Many vaccines have been implicated in causing ocular adverse events based on the temporal association of exposure and putative complication. Determination of causality is difficult. We provide an overview of vaccine side effects and also examine the English literature and the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) from 2010 through 2020 for vaccine-implicated ocular adverse events. While reactions of eyelids and conjunctiva are commonly reported, the most frequently implicated serious adverse events are optic neuritis and various patterns of intraocular inflammation. Live attenuated vaccines have the potential to cause ocular infection from vaccine-strain organisms, particularly in those immunosuppressed. While postmarketing registries for suspect vaccination adverse events, such as VAERS, are unable to determine causal associations, they are a mainstay in signaling suspected trends that require investigation. The majority of probable and possible serious ocular adverse effects are distinctly uncommon.

Abstract
Purpose: To describe four cases of ocular adverse events resembling intraocular inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions following yellow fever vaccination (YFV) during a recent yellow fever (YF) outbreak in Brazil.Methods: Charts of patients diagnosed with ocular adverse events after YFV between January 2017 and January 2019 at two tertiary referral centers in Brazil.Results: Four patients (two adults and two children) are reported. Case 1 presented with typical findings of central serous chorioretinopathy which resolved spontaneously; case 2 was diagnosed with acute Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease; cases 3 and 4 had bilateral diffuse retinal vasculitis. In the absence of infectious and noninfectious disorders, the temporal association between stand-alone YFV and onset of ocular symptoms within 15 days was interpreted as evidence of causation.Conclusions: Clinicians should be aware of the wide spectrum of possible ocular adverse reactions to stand-alone YFV.

Abstract
Treatments of numerous systemic and local diseases of different etiologies may be accompanied by an unwanted side effect in the form of uveitis. We inform readers about medications that have the potential to cause uveitis and analyze the strength of association of these medications with uveitis. Subsequently, cessation of medication or appropriate treatment can be individualized for each patient for the purpose of preventing further damage to tissue structure and function. Being aware of these associations, physicians may readily identify medications that may cause uveitis and avoid expensive and unnecessary clinical and laboratory testing.

Abstract
Background With increasing incidence of yellow fever, mass campaign vaccinations are underway and little ophthalmological alterations have been reported in literature, specially regarding non-combined vaccines. Case presentation We report the case of a patient with no previous ocular or systemic diseases whom received a single dose of yellow fever vaccination and developed haematological, hepatic and renal alterations progressing with a later onset bilateral asymmetric diffuse uveitis. Ophthalmological findings included fine keratic precipitates scattered throughout the cornea and mild vitritis. Multimodal evaluation showed subtle puntiform choriocapillaris changes with decreased vascular density associated. The patient had a good visual outcome after mild oral prednisone dose, but the image findings have not presented remission. Conclusions Clinicians should be aware of clinical and subclinical ocular manifestations such as subtle puntiform choriocapillaris changes as possible vaccine-related adverse events with potential to impact vision.

Abstract
Importance Yellow fever still threatens people in endemic areas, and besides conjunctival icterus, little is known about the ocular changes that occur in these patients. Objective To characterize retinal changes in patients with confirmed yellow fever during 2 recent outbreaks of the disease in Minas Gerais, Southeastern Brazil. Design, Setting, and Participants This cross-sectional, observational study conducted at a single referral center for infectious diseases in Southeastern Brazil collected data between January 2017 and February 2018 from 94 consecutive patients with suspicion of yellow fever who were eligible for the study. Main Outcomes and Measures Patients underwent ophthalmic examination. Clinical findings, laboratory results, and occurrence of retinopathy and death during hospitalization were reported, including age, sex, comorbidities, disease severity, serum aspartate aminotransferase level, total bilirubin level, serum creatinine level, arterial lactate level, international normalized ratio, and platelet count at hospital admission. Results In total, 64 patients were included who had received a confirmed diagnosis of yellow fever, with a median (interquartile range) age of 47 (38-56) years, and 12 patients (19%) were women. Twenty eyes (16%) of 13 patients (20%) had retinopathy at the same time as yellow fever. The most common fundus changes among the 20 eyes were retinal nerve fiber layer infarcts (11 [55%]), superficial hemorrhages (7 [35%]) and grayish deep lesions (6 [30%]), possibly at the level of the outer retina or choroid. Aspartate aminotransferase levels higher than 3000 U/L (odds ratio [OR], 14.2; 95% CI, 3.5-77.8; P < .001), total bilirubin levels higher than 2.3 mg/dL (OR, 20.0; 95% CI, 4.4-159.7; P < .001), serum creatinine levels higher than 2.0 mg/dL (OR, 8.2; 95% CI, 2.1-36.0; P = .003), arterial lactate levels higher than 17.1/mg/dL (OR, 4.6; 95% CI, 1.1-19.0; P = .03), platelet count lower than 94 × 103/μL (OR, 7.8; 95% CI, 1.8-59.9; P = .004), and classification of disease as severe (OR, 11.7; 95% CI, 2.0-301.0; P = .003) were associated with retinopathy. Arterial hypertension, diabetes, international normalized ratio, and death were not associated with retinopathy. Conclusions and Relevance Retinopathy was present in 20% of patients with yellow fever and appeared to be associated with more severe systemic disease. Retinal nerve fiber layer infarcts and superficial hemorrhages, but not the grayish deep lesions, resembled those associated with other flavivirus (eg, dengue virus) infections. The clinical relevance of these findings may warrant further investigation.

Abstract
Arboviruses are viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and tics bites. They are a major cause of morbidity and sometimes mortality. Their expansion is constant and due in part to climate change and globalization. Mostly found in tropical regions, arboviruses are sometimes the source of epidemics in Europe. Recently, the Chikungunya virus and the Zika virus were responsible for very large epidemics impacting populations that had never been in contact with those viruses. There are currently no effective antiviral treatments or vaccines. Ocular manifestations due to those infections are thus more frequent and increasingly better described. They are sometimes, as with Zika, complicated by a congenital ocular syndrome. The goal of this review is to describe the ophthalmological manifestations of Dengue fever, Chikungunya virus, Zika virus, West Nile virus, and yellow fever.

Abstract
Purpose: To describe two cases of anterior and intermediate uveitis following yellow fever vaccination with fractional dose. Methods: Case report. Results: Case 1: A 35 year-old healthy woman presented with unilateral anterior uveitis 10 days after the yellow fever vaccination. Testing excluded infectious and rheumatic diseases and the episode was fully recovered after a short course of topical treatment. Case 2: A 21 year-old previously healthy woman presented with blurred vision in the left eye (OS) 14 days after the yellow fever vaccination. The ophthalmic examination of the OS revealed intermediated uveitis. Testing excluded infectious and neurological diseases. After six weeks of treatment with oral prednisone, the ocular inflammation had resolved. Conclusion: Physicians should be aware of the possibility of eye inflammation following the yellow fever vaccination.

Abstract
Arboviruses are viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and tick bites. They are a major cause of morbidity and sometimes mortality. Their expansion is constant and due in part to climate change and globalization. Mostly found in tropical regions, arboviruses are sometimes the source of epidemics in Europe. Recently, the Chikungunya virus and the Zika virus were responsible for very large epidemics impacting populations that had never been in contact with those viruses. There are currently no effective antiviral treatments or vaccines. Ocular manifestations due to those infections are thus more frequent and increasingly better described. They are sometimes, as with Zika, complicated by a congenital ocular syndrome. The goal of this review is to describe the ophthalmological manifestations of Dengue fever, Chikungunya virus, Zika virus, West Nile virus, and yellow fever.

Abstract
OCT has revolutionized the practice of ophthalmology over the past 10-20 years. Advances in OCT technology have allowed for the creation of novel OCT-based methods. OCT-Angiography (OCTA) is one such method that has rapidly gained clinical acceptance since it was approved by the FDA in late 2016. OCTA images are based on the variable backscattering of light from the vascular and neurosensory tissue in the retina. Since the intensity and phase of backscattered light from retinal tissue varies based on the intrinsic movement of the tissue (e.g. red blood cells are moving, but neurosensory tissue is static), OCTA images are essentially motion-contrast images. This motion-contrast imaging provides reliable, high resolution, and non-invasive images of the retinal vasculature in an efficient manner. In many cases, these images are approaching histology level resolution. This unprecedented resolution coupled with the simple, fast and non-invasive imaging platform have allowed a host of basic and clinical research applications. OCTA demonstrates many important clinical findings including areas of macular telangiectasia, impaired perfusion, microaneurysms, capillary remodeling, some types of intraretinal fluid, and neovascularization among many others. More importantly, OCTA provides depth-resolved information that has never before been available. Correspondingly, OCTA has been used to evaluate a spectrum of retinal vascular diseases including diabetic retinopathy (DR), retinal venous occlusion (RVO), uveitis, retinal arterial occlusion, and age-related macular degeneration among others. In this review, we will discuss the methods used to create OCTA images, the practical applications of OCTA in light of invasive dye-imaging studies (e.g. fluorescein angiography) and review clinical studies demonstrating the utility of OCTA for research and clinical practice.
