Abstract
Resilience is often viewed as the ability to bounce back from challenges. This conceptualization tends to be individualistic and can be less fitting for marginalized communities. Research with transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals has shown that resilience can manifest in various ways, such as developing pride in one's identity, connection to a TGD community, or advocating against oppression. Given these conflicting views, we sought to (1) describe common themes in TGD people's experience of resilience by pooling information from qualitative research; and (2) evaluate how well quantitative measures of resilience reflected the ways that TGD people define resilience in qualitative research. We reviewed articles published from January 2010 to January 2020. Our search for research on resilience in TGD samples revealed 33 quantitative articles and 17 qualitative articles. We developed a codebook from the qualitative articles by retrieving information about themes from these past studies (e.g., developing motivation and agency, pride or positive self-image). We also reviewed the quantitative studies and retrieved the measures used to assess resilience, followed by coding these scales to understand whether the themes from the qualitative data were reflected in the quantitative measures of resilience. Overall, themes related to social support were common across the measures. However, other themes were not reflected in any measures, such as self-definition of gender, hope, and self-advocacy. Our research demonstrates the discrepancy between qualitative research on TGD resilience and quantitative measurement of resilience. Measure development that more fully reflects TGD people's experiences is key to advancing this research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To improve health equity, nursing curricula should include content specific to the needs of marginalized and underserved communities, such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex groups (LGBTQI+). Harmful and absent academic discussions of LGBTQI+ patients lead to provider discomfort and inadequacy in treating this patient population. Nursing schools are well-positioned to increase comfort with LGBTQI+ content as part of pre-licensure curricula. This article presents a systematic evaluation of LGBTQI+ content in nursing pre-licensure textbooks and the nature and quality of the representations. METHODS A qualitative descriptive analysis of LGBTQI+ content from 14 nursing-specific textbooks required by a pre-licensure degree program at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing was conducted by a student-led team with faculty oversight. A priori and iterative search terms were used to identify and extract text segments that referenced LGBTQI+ content in each textbook. An iterative codebook was developed, codes were applied, and analysis of the information and context in which the terms were presented was performed. RESULTS The research team observed gaps and notable patterns in distribution of LGBTQI+ terms and health content areas across the textbooks reviewed. The majority of LGBTQI+ search terms were identified in the following health content areas: social determinants of health, sexual/reproductive health, pediatric sexual & gender diversity, intersectionality, and infectious disease. Based on qualitative descriptive analyses, the data were organized into the following categories: a) Language; b) Medicalization; c) Vague, Incomplete, or Lacking Specificity; and d) Comprehensive Approach. CONCLUSION Findings highlight the need for increased academic exposure for pre-licensure nursing students regarding the care of LGBTQI+ patients. Thoughtful inclusion of LGBTQI+ content may better foster the delivery of evidence-based care for this patient population. These findings underscore the need for improved nursing curricula to support nurses in delivering affirming care for LGBTQI+ populations.

Abstract
IMPORTANCE Transgender and nonbinary youths have a higher incidence of a range of health conditions and may paradoxically face limited access to health care. OBJECTIVE To describe the perspectives and needs of transgender youths in accessing health care. EVIDENCE REVIEW MEDLINE, Embase, PsycInfo, and the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature were searched from inception to January 2021. Qualitative studies of transgender youths' perspectives on accessing health care were selected. Results from primary studies were extracted. Data were analyzed using thematic synthesis. FINDINGS Ninety-one studies involving 884 participants aged 9 to 24 years across 17 countries were included. We identified 6 themes: experiencing pervasive stigma and discrimination in health care, feeling vulnerable and uncertain in decision-making, traversing risks to overcome systemic barriers to transitioning, internalizing intense fear of consequences, experiencing prejudice undermining help-seeking efforts, and experiencing strengthened gender identity and finding allies. Each theme encapsulated multiple subthemes. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE This review found that transgender youths contend with feelings of gender incongruence, fear, and vulnerability in accessing health care, which are compounded by legal, economic, and social barriers. This can lead to disengagement from care and resorting to high-risk and unsafe interventions. Improving access to gender-affirming care services with a cultural humility lens and addressing sociolegal stressors may improve outcomes in transgender and nonbinary youths.

Abstract
HIV remains a public health concern in the United States. Although pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can be expected to reduce HIV incidence, its uptake, adherence, and persistence remain limited, particularly among highest priority groups such as men who have sex with men and transwomen (MSMTW). Using a socioecological framework, we conducted a scoping review to examine PrEP-related stigma to inform future research, policy, and programmatic planning. Using the PRISMA extension for scoping reviews, we conducted database searches from August 2018 to April 2020 for articles addressing PrEP stigma. Studies were independently screened and coded by three authors, resulting in thematic categorization of several types of PrEP stigma on four socioecological levels. Of 557 references, a final sample of 23 studies was coded, 61% qualitative, and 87% focusing exclusively on MSMTW. Most instances of PrEP-related stigma occurred on the interpersonal level and included associations of PrEP with risk promotion, HIV-related stigma, and promiscuity. Other frequent themes across socioecological levels included provider distrust and discrimination, government and pharmaceutical industry distrust, internalized homonegativity, PrEP efficacy distrust, and anticipated homonegativity. Notably, PrEP was also framed positively as having physical and psychological benefits, and assuming responsibility for protecting one's community via PrEP awareness-raising. PrEP-related stigma persists, demanding interventions to modify its impact. Leveraging PrEP-positive discourses to challenge PrEP stigma is an emerging avenue, alongside efforts to increase provider willingness to promote PrEP routinely by reducing provider bias, aligning with the national strategy to End the HIV Epidemic.

Abstract
: Advances in HIV treatment and pioneering public health strategies have yielded remarkable successes in the global fight against HIV. However, attaining UNAIDS Fast Track 90-90-90 global targets will require a renewed focus on the psychosocial aspects of HIV that too often prevent vulnerable individuals from engaging in prevention, testing, and treatment. Each step along the HIV Care Continuum can be viewed as an opportunity for positive adaptation or 'resilience', and the scientific study of resilience among HIV populations continues to grow. This AIDS supplement aims to draw attention to current conceptualizations of resilience among HIV-affected populations and to delineate factors that people living with HIV identify as critical for their ability to cope with HIV-related challenges. We also highlight innovative resilience-based interventions that are designed to help people living with HIV not only survive - but also thrive - across psychological, social, and health-related domains.
