Abstract
The Lacinutrix genus was discovered in 2005 and includes 12 Gram-negative bacterial species. To the best of our knowledge, the secondary metabolite production potential of this genus has not been explored before, and examination of Lacinutrix species may reveal novel chemistry. As part of a screening project of Arctic marine bacteria, the Lacinutrix sp. strain M09B143 was cultivated, extracted, fractionated and tested for antibacterial and cytotoxic activities. One fraction had antibacterial activity and was subjected to mass spectrometry analysis, which revealed two compounds with elemental composition that did not match any known compounds in databases. This resulted in the identification and isolation of two novel isobranched lyso-ornithine lipids, whose structures were elucidated by mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy. Lyso-ornithine lipids consist of a 3-hydroxy fatty acid linked to the alpha amino group of an ornithine amino acid through an amide bond. The fatty acid chains were determined to be iso-C15:0 (1) and iso-C16:0 (2). Compound 1 was active against the Gram-positive S. agalactiae, while 2 showed cytotoxic activity against A2058 human melanoma cells.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to characterize two gram-negative bacterial strains that were isolated from diseased Atlantic Horse Mackerel Trachurus trachurus in 2017. Based on the results obtained from the biochemical and chemotaxonomic characterization, the isolates were identified as Lacinutrix spp. The highest similarity of the 16S rRNA gene sequences was obtained with the strain L. venerupis CECT 8573T (99.1%), while other species showed similarities of 98% (L. jangbogonensis) and 97% (L. algicola and L. mariniflava). Molecular characterization by repetitive element (REP)-PCR and enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus (ERIC)-PCR, as well as proteomic characterization by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS), demonstrated heterogeneity between the strains from the Atlantic Horse Mackerel and the type strain, CECT 8573T . The virulence of one of the isolates for Turbot Scophthalmus maximus, European Sea Bass Dicentrarchus labrax, Senegalese Sole Solea senegalensis, and Rainbow Trout Oncorhynchus mykiss was assessed under experimental conditions. No mortalities were recorded after intraperitoneal injections with high doses of bacteria (1 × 109 CFU/mL). Thus, further studies are necessary to elucidate the impact of this bacterial species as a fish pathogen.

Abstract
A Gram-stain negative, aerobic, rod-shaped, and non-motile bacterium, designated strain CCMM003T, was isolated from a culture of the green alga Ulva prolifera. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain CCMM003T belongs to the family Flavobacteriaceae and exhibits a close relationship to Pseudozobellia thermophila DSM 19858T (92.5%). Optimal growth occurred in the presence of 4% (w/v) NaCl, at pH 7.0 and 30 °C. The polar lipids of strain CCMM003T consisted of phosphatidylethanolamine and six unidentified lipids. The predominant isoprenoid quinone was MK-6. The major fatty acids were iso-C15:0, iso-C15:1 G, iso-C17:0 3-OH and summed feature 3 (C16:1ω7c and/or iso-C15:0 2-OH). The DNA G + C content of strain CCMM003T calculated on the basis of the genome sequence was 41.2 mol% and the genome size was 5.9 Mbp. On the basis of data from this polyphasic study, strain CCMM003T is considered to represent a novel genus and species of the family Flavobacteriaceae, for which the name Ulvibacterium marinum gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is CCMM003T (= MCCC 1K03244T =KCTC 52639T).

Abstract
The genus Lacinutrix, which belongs to the family Flavobacteriaceae, consists of seven bacterial species that were mainly isolated from marine life and sediments. As most bacteria in the family Flavobacteriaceae favor aerobic conditions, the seven bacterial species in the genus Lacinutrix also showed aerobic growth. We selected four monophyletic bacterial species living in a polar environment. Two of these species were isolated from sediment and two types were isolated from algae. In a comparative analysis, we investigated how these different environments were related to genomic features of these four species in the genus Lacinutrix. We found that the gene sets for glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation were conserved in these four type strains. However, the presence of nitrous oxide reductase for denitrification and the absence of essential components related to thiamin biosynthesis for aerobic respiration were only found in isolates from sediment. Elevated bacterial metabolism on the surface of marine sediments might limit the oxygen penetration into sediment, and such an environment might affect the genomes of bacteria isolated from these habitats.

Abstract
A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, aerobic and pleomorphic bacterium, designated BS-W13T, was isolated from a tidal flat on the South Sea, South Korea, and its taxonomic position was investigated using a polyphasic approach. Strain BS-W13T grew optimally at 25 °C, at pH 7.0–8.0 and in the presence of 1.0–2.0 % (w/v) NaCl. Sulfitobacter mediterraneus
and
Roseobacter litoralis
, respectively. Strain BS-W13T contained Q-10 as the predominant ubiquinone and C18 : 1ω7c as the major fatty acid. The polar lipid profile of strain BS-W13T, containing phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, one unidentified aminolipid and one unidentified lipid as major components, was distinguishable from those of some phylogenetically related taxa. The DNA G+C content of strain BS-W13T was 58.1 mol%.
