Prediction improvement of potential PV production pattern, imagery satellite-based

The results obtained by using an existing model to estimate global solar radiation (GHI) in three different locations in Tunisia. These data are compared with GHI meteorological measurements and PV_Gis satellite imagery estimation. Some statistical indicators (R, R², MPE, AMPE, MBE, AMBE and RMSE) have been used to measure the performance of the used model. Correlation coefficient for the different stations was close to 1.0. The meteorology and satellite determination coefficient (R²) were also near 1.0 except in the case of Nabeul station in which the meteorology measurements (R) were equals to 0.5848 because of the loss of data in this location due to meteorological conditions. This numerical model provides the best performance according to statistical results in different locations; therefore, this model can be used to estimate global solar radiation in Tunisia. The R square values are used as a statistical indicator to demonstrate that the model’s results are compatible with those of meteorology with a percentage of error less than 10%.

New Physics of Strong Interaction and Dark Universe

The history of dark universe physics can be traced from processes in the very early universe to the modern dominance of dark matter and energy. Here, we review the possible nontrivial role of strong interactions in cosmological effects of new physics. In the case of ordinary QCD interaction, the existence of new stable colored particles such as new stable quarks leads to new exotic forms of matter, some of which can be candidates for dark matter. New QCD-like strong interactions lead to new stable composite candidates bound by QCD-like confinement. We put special emphasis on the effects of interaction between new stable hadrons and ordinary matter, formation of anomalous forms of cosmic rays and exotic forms of matter, like stable fractionally charged particles. The possible correlation of these effects with high energy neutrino and cosmic ray signatures opens the way to study new physics of strong interactions by its indirect multi-messenger astrophysical probes.

Characteristics of the Diffuse Astrophysical Electron and Tau Neutrino Flux with Six Years of IceCube High Energy Cascade Data

We report on the first measurement of the astrophysical neutrino flux using particle showers (cascades) in IceCube data from 2010-2015. Assuming standard oscillations, the astrophysical neutrinos in this dedicated cascade sample are dominated (∼90%) by electron and tau flavors. The flux, observed in the sensitive energy range from 16 TeV to 2.6 PeV, is consistent with a single power-law model as expected from Fermi-type acceleration of high energy particles at astrophysical sources. We find the flux spectral index to be γ=2.53±0.07 and a flux normalization for each neutrino flavor of ϕ_{astro}=1.66_{-0.27}^{+0.25} at E_{0}=100  TeV, in agreement with IceCube's complementary muon neutrino results and with all-neutrino flavor fit results. In the measured energy range we reject spectral indices γ≤2.28 at ≥3σ significance level. Because of high neutrino energy resolution and low atmospheric neutrino backgrounds, this analysis provides the most detailed characterization of the neutrino flux at energies below ∼100  TeV compared to previous IceCube results. Results from fits assuming more complex neutrino flux models suggest a flux softening at high energies and a flux hardening at low energies (p value ≥0.06). The sizable and smooth flux measured below ∼100  TeV remains a puzzle. In order to not violate the isotropic diffuse gamma-ray background as measured by the Fermi Large Area Telescope, it suggests the existence of astrophysical neutrino sources characterized by dense environments which are opaque to gamma rays.

Observation of Atmospheric Neutrinos

In 1998, the Super-Kamiokande discovered neutrino oscillation using atmospheric neutrino anomalies. It was the first direct evidence of neutrino mass and the first phenomenon to be discovered beyond the standard model of particle physics. Recently, more precise measurements of neutrino oscillation parameters using atmospheric neutrinos have been achieved by several detectors, such as Super-Kamiokande, IceCube, and ANTARES. In addition, precise predictions and measurements of atmospheric neutrino flux have been performed. This paper presents the history, current status, and future prospects of the atmospheric neutrino observation.

Quasielastic Lepton Scattering off Two-Component Dark Matter in Hypercolor Model

The interaction of high-energy leptons with components of Dark Matter in a hypercolor model is considered. The possibility of detection, using IceCube secondary neutrinos produced by quasielastic scattering of cosmic ray electrons off hidden mass particles, is investigated. The dominant contribution to the cross section results from diagrams with scalar exchanges. A strong dependence of the total cross section on the Dark Matter components mass is also found.

e- discrimination at high energy in the JUNO detector

Cosmic Ray and neutrino oscillation physics can be studied by using atmospheric neutrinos. JUNO (Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory) is a large liquid scintillator detector with low energy detection threshold and excellent energy resolution. The detector performances allow the atmospheric neutrino oscillation measurements. In this work, a discrimination algorithm for different reaction channels of neutrino-nucleon interactions in the JUNO liquid scintillator, in the GeV/sub-GeV energy region, is presented. The atmospheric neutrino flux is taken as reference, considering $\mathop {{v_\mu }}\limits^{( - )} $ and $\mathop {{v_e}}\limits^{( - )} $. The different temporal behaviour of the classes of events have been exploited to build a timeprofile-based discrimination algorithm. The results show a good selection power for $\mathop {{v_e}}\limits^{( - )} $ CC events, while the $\mathop {{v_\mu }}\limits^{( - )} $ CC component suffers of an important contamination from NC events at low energy, which is under study. Preliminary results are presented.

Search for Neutrinos in Super-Kamiokande Associated with Gravitational Wave Events

We report the results from a search in Super-Kamiokande for neutrino signals coincident with gravitational-wave events using a neutrino energy range from 3.5 MeV–100 PeV. We searched for coincident neutrino events within a time window of ± 500 s around the gravitational-wave detection time. In this work, we report the number of events within the search-window and the 90 % confidence level upper limits on the neutrino fluence for each gravitational-wave event.
