Precise charm to strange mass ratio and light quark masses from full lattice QCD

Hadronic Vacuum Polarization Contribution to the Anomalous Magnetic Moments of Leptons from First Principles

We compute the leading, strong-interaction contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron, muon, and tau using lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD) simulations. Calculations include the effects of u, d, s, and c quarks and are performed directly at the physical values of the quark masses and in volumes of linear extent larger than 6 fm. All connected and disconnected Wick contractions are calculated. Continuum limits are carried out using six lattice spacings. We obtain a_{e}^{LO-HVP}=189.3(2.6)(5.6)×10^{-14}, a_{μ}^{LO-HVP}=711.1(7.5)(17.4)×10^{-10} and a_{τ}^{LO-HVP}=341.0(0.8)(3.2)×10^{-8}, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.

Lattice QCD results for the HVP contribution to the anomalous magnetic moments of leptons

We present lattice QCD results by the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal (BMW) Collaboration for the leading-order contribution of the hadron vacuum polarization (LOHVP) to the anomalous magnetic moments of all charged leptons. Calculations are performed with u, d, s and c quarks at their physical masses, in volumes of linear extent larger than 6 fm, and at six values of the lattice spacing, allowing for controlled continuum extrapolations. All connected and disconnected contributions are calculated for not only the muon but also the electron and tau anomalous magnetic moments. Systematic uncertainties are thoroughly discussed and comparisons with other calculations and phenomenological estimates are made.

Review of lattice results concerning low-energy particle physics: Flavour Lattice Averaging Group (FLAG)

We review lattice results related to pion, kaon, D- and B-meson physics with the aim of making them easily accessible to the particle-physics community. More specifically, we report on the determination of the light-quark masses, the form factor [Formula: see text], arising in the semileptonic [Formula: see text] transition at zero momentum transfer, as well as the decay constant ratio [Formula: see text] and its consequences for the CKM matrix elements [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. Furthermore, we describe the results obtained on the lattice for some of the low-energy constants of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] Chiral Perturbation Theory. We review the determination of the [Formula: see text] parameter of neutral kaon mixing as well as the additional four B parameters that arise in theories of physics beyond the Standard Model. The latter quantities are an addition compared to the previous review. For the heavy-quark sector, we provide results for [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] (also new compared to the previous review), as well as those for D- and B-meson-decay constants, form factors, and mixing parameters. These are the heavy-quark quantities most relevant for the determination of CKM matrix elements and the global CKM unitarity-triangle fit. Finally, we review the status of lattice determinations of the strong coupling constant [Formula: see text].

Ratio m(c)/m(s) with Wilson fermions

We determine the quark mass ratio m(c)/m(s) on the lattice, using Wilson-type fermions. Configurations with N(f)=2 dynamical clover-improved fermions by the QCDSF Collaboration are used, which were made available through the ILDG. In the valence sector we use a sophisticated, mass-independently O(a)-improved Wilson-type action with small cutoff effects even in the charm mass region. After an extrapolation to the physical pion mass, to zero lattice spacing and to infinite box volume, we find m(c)/m(s)=11.27(30)(26).
