Abstract
BACKGROUND Within the framework of gut-brain interactions, the ketogenic diet (KD), a high-fat, low-carbohydrate, and moderate-protein dietary intervention, has gained attention for its potential in psychiatric care. Renowned for its efficacy in managing obesity, KD has demonstrated effectiveness in facilitating weight loss and inducing favorable metabolic changes in the short term. With its established benefits in neurological disorders, KD is now being investigated as a potential therapeutic avenue for individuals with psychiatric conditions. OBJECTIVE This scoping review aims to summarize the latest studies on this topic, consider clinical implications, and suggest future research directions. METHODS Records were systematically (PRISMA-ScR guidelines) identified through PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCOhost searches. RESULTS A total of 58 studies were initially identified, with 13 meeting the eligibility criteria. While clinical trials remain limited, emerging evidence from case reports, case series, and pilot studies highlights the potential of a KD in reducing symptoms across psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, alcohol use, and eating disorders. A KD shows potential in reducing cravings in eating and alcohol use disorders by stabilizing brain metabolism and modulating addictive behaviors, while its neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects may contribute to symptom improvement in mood and psychotic disorders. CONCLUSIONS Implementing a KD in patients with mental disorders seems to be a feasible and well-tolerated approach, resulting in psychiatric symptom reduction and improvements in metabolic health. Most interestingly, research suggests that KD can also be safely implemented in the care of patients with addictive-like eating disorders.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Bubble tea has emerged as an essential beverage in the daily lives of many individuals, which is particularly pronounced among nurses. However, few studies have investigated the potential effects of bubble tea consumption on mental health among nurses. In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between bubble tea consumption and mental health among nurses. METHODS A cross-sectional analysis using baseline data from the Nurses' Mental Health Study (NMHS), a national cohort study. Odds ratios (ORs) were employed to evaluate the relationship between bubble tea consumption and mental health. RESULTS A total of 132,910 participants were enumerated nationwide in our survey. 8666 (6.52 %) were male and 124,244 (93.48 %) were female. The median age of participants was 34 years. After adjusting for potential confounders, the odds ratios (ORs) for depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, psychiatric diagnosis, fatigue, burnout, loneliness, and well-being trend changed across categories of bubble tea consumption. Low frequency of bubble tea consumption was associated with a lower risk of suicidal ideation, while high frequency of consumption was related to an increased suicidal risk. The relation between bubble tea and mental health varies with gender and age. CONCLUSIONS This large-sample cross-sectional study found that consumption of bubble tea was significantly associated with increased anxiety, depression, psychiatric diagnosis, fatigue, job burnout and loneliness, and decreased well-being among nurses. Moreover, research indicates that limited consumption of bubble tea may be correlated with a reduction in suicidal ideation, whereas excessive consumption may be linked to an increase in such ideation.

Abstract
Background Obinutuzumab was approved in China in June 2021 used in combination with chemotherapy (followed by obinutuzumab maintenance) for the treatment of adult patients with previously untreated stage II bulky, III, or IV follicular lymphoma (FL). The clinical application of obinutuzumab has recently begun in China, but there is a lack of evidence to determine under which circumstances it should be considered the treatment of choice. A comprehensive assessment is necessary to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness of obinutuzumab in adult patients with FL. Objective To summarize the evidence on the efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness of obinutuzumab in adult patients with FL, aiming to provide medical professionals with evidence for informed choices in clinical practice. Methods The approach to this evidence synthesis was a rapid review of systematic reviews/meta-analyses (SR/meta-analyses), health technology assessment (HTA) reports, and pharmacoeconomic studies that brings together and summarizes the efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness of obinutuzumab in adult patients with FL. A literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, Embase, Wanfang, CNKI, Weipu database, the Cochrane Library, the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) database, International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment (INAHTA) and Canada's Drug Agency (CDA-AMC), International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), National Institute For Health and Care Excellence (NICE), Institute For Clinical And Economic Review (ICER), Grey Literature Database and Grey Net International. The studies on obinutuzumab for FL were searched in full text with obinutuzumab, systematic review, meta-analysis, economics, cost, and health technology assessment as keywords, with a search time frame from the date of database creation to 29 November 2024. The literature was screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were meticulously extracted and synthesized by two authors. Simultaneously, the quality of the literature was thoroughly assessed. Results Obinutuzumab based chemotherapy (the chemotherapy regimen-cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (CHOP); cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisone (CVP); or bendamustine) significantly prolonged progression free survival (PFS) compared to other chemotherapy regimen at primary and updated analyses. The incidence of grade 3-5 AEs, infusion-related reactions (IRRs), and infection were higher in the obinutuzumab based chemotherapy group compared to other chemotherapies. The economic researches conducted in China, United States, Japan, Italy and Norway had demonstrated that obinutuzumab-based chemothrepy was cost-effective compared to other chemothrepies. Although obinutuzumab significantly prolonged PFS and was cost-effective, its safety profile was considered lower. Conclusion Compared with other chemothrapy regimen, obinutuzumab based chemotherapy significantly prolonged PFS and was cost-effective, while its safety profile was considered lower. Therefore, medical professionals should be caution when using or introducing obinutuzumab treatment for FL patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Positive expressive writing is associated with enhanced psychological wellbeing. Several individual differences are known to moderate the enhancement effects of positive expressive writing, but no studies to date have investigated the optimal dietary conditions under which expressive writing effects occur. In this pilot study, we sought to investigate whether diet quality and dietary fibre intake moderate the effects of positive writing on mood. METHODS The participants (12 males, 25 females, Mage = 33.0, SDage = 13.1) completed self-reported measures of dietary quality, dietary fibre intake, and positive and negative affect. They were then randomly allocated to complete either a positive expressive writing or neutral writing activity for 10 min. Positive and negative affect were measured again immediately after each activity. RESULTS Those participants who reported better diet quality and greater dietary fibre intake exhibited a significantly greater increase in positive affect following positive expressive writing relative to neutral writing. No significant effects were observed for negative affect. CONCLUSIONS For the first time, we report that the effects of positive expressive writing on positive mood are enhanced under optimal dietary conditions. Further replication studies are needed to determine whether dietary factors can influence the conditions under which positive expressive writing benefits occur. We speculate that dietary influences on the gut-brain axis are a potential mechanism.

Abstract
AIM This review of systematic reviews synthesised evidence on the impact of dietary interventions on anthropometric and biochemical measures associated with schizophrenia and metabolic syndrome. Secondly, an aim to identify intervention elements associated with greater dietary adherence and behaviour change. METHODS Five databases were searched from 2000-March 2023. Eligible reviews included adults, majority diagnosed with schizophrenia, dietary intervention components and at least one anthropometric or biochemical outcome related to metabolic syndrome. Two independent reviewers performed article selection, data extraction, and quality assessment. RESULTS Seven systematic reviews, consisting of 79 unique primary papers were included. No reviews exclusively examined dietary interventions. Nutrition education and counselling administered alongside physical activity were common. All reviews favoured intervention over the control to reduce body weight, body mass index, and waist circumference. Glycaemic control, blood pressure and triglycerides were not routinely reported with mixed effects following interventions. There was insufficient data to examine any trends for dropout rates, dietary adherence, and behaviour change. There was both low (n = 3/7) and high (n = 4/7) risk of bias and degree of study overlap was very high (16.4 %). The level of evidence was rated as suggestive (n = 2/7), weak (n = 2/7), non-significant (n = 1/7) and ungraded (n = 2/7). CONCLUSION Dietary interventions administered alongside lifestyle therapies can reduce anthropometric measurements for consumers living with schizophrenia and prescribed antipsychotic medications. Higher quality reviews with greater strength and credibility of evidence are required. Uniform reporting of intervention elements is also necessary for cross comparison of efficacious elements and synthesis of evidence at higher levels to advance dietetic practice and inform future policies.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW As research on the potential impact of nutrition on mental disorders, a significant component of global disability continues to grow the concepts of "nutritional psychiatry, psycho-dietetics/nutripsychiatry" have taken their place in the literature. This review is a comprehensive examination of the literature on the the potential mechanisms between common mental disorders and nutrition and evaluates the effectiveness of dietary interventions. RECENT FINDINGS Inflammation, oxidative stress, intestinal microbiota, mitochondrial dysfunction, and neural plasticity are shown as potential mechanisms in the relationship between mental disorders and nutrition. As a matter of fact, neurotrophic factors, which make important contributions to repair mechanisms throughout life, and neuronal plasticity, which plays a role in mental disorders, are affected by nutritional factors. In metabolism, the antioxidant defense system works with nutritional cofactors and phytochemicals. A balanced, planned diet that provides these components is more likely to provide nutrients that increase resilience against the pathogenesis of mental disorders. Nutrition can be considered a risk factor for mental disorders. Therefore, developing public health strategies focused on improving diet may help reduce the global burden of mental disorders and other related diseases.

Abstract
The ketogenic diet (KD) is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that mimics the physiological state of fasting. The potential therapeutic effects in many chronic conditions have led to the gaining popularity of the KD. The KD has been demonstrated to alleviate inflammation and oxidative stress, modulate the gut microbiota community, and improve metabolic health markers. The modification of these factors has been a potential therapeutic target in serious mental illness (SMI): bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and schizophrenia. The number of clinical trials assessing the effect of the KD on SMI is still limited. Preliminary research, predominantly case studies, suggests potential therapeutic effects, including weight gain reduction, improved carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, decrease in disease-related symptoms, increased energy and quality of life, and, in some cases, changes in pharmacotherapy (reduction in number or dosage of medication). However, these findings necessitate further investigation through larger-scale clinical trials. Initiation of the KD should occur in a hospital setting and with strict care of a physician and dietitian due to potential side effects of the diet and the possibility of exacerbating adverse effects of pharmacotherapy. An increasing number of ongoing studies examining the KD's effect on mental disorders highlights its potential role in the adjunctive treatment of SMI.

Abstract
Food insecurity is a known health equity threat for formerly chronically homeless populations even after they transition into permanent housing. This project utilized a human-centered design methodology to plan and implement a nutrition-focused community-health-worker (CHW) intervention in permanent supportive housing (PSH). The project aimed to increase access to healthy foods, improve nutritional literacy, healthy cooking/eating practices, and build community/social connectedness among 140 PSH residents. Validated food-security screening conducted by CHWs identified low or very low food security among 64% of 83 residents who completed the baseline survey, which is similar to rates found in a previous study among formerly homeless populations placed in PSH. Major themes identified through an analysis of resident feedback include (1) lack of needed kitchenware/appliances for food preparation, (2) knowledge gaps on how to purchase and prepare healthier food, (3) positive perceptions of healthy food options, (4) expanded preferences for healthy, easy-to-prepare foods, (5) regaining cooking skills lost during homelessness, (6) positive experiences participating in group activities, (7) community re-entry, and (8) resident ownership. Preliminary findings suggest the use of a human-centered design methodology for planning and implementing this multi-level CHW intervention helped reduce food insecurity, engaged participants in learning and adopting healthy and safe cooking and eating practices, and fostered social connectedness and feelings of community among formerly chronically homeless PSH residents.

Abstract
Beneficial changes in microbiota observed in individuals with a major depressive disorder (MDD) may be initiated with a low fermentable oligosaccharide, disaccharide, monosaccharide, and polyol (FODMAP) elimination diet. Academic Search Ultimate, APA PsychINFO, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, Scopus and Web of Science were searched for original research documenting differences in microbiota in MDD or changes with a low FODMAP diet in adults (age 18 years +). Studies with fecal microbiota, 16 s RNA sequencing and QIIME pipelines were included. Studies using antibiotics, probiotics, and medications such as antidepressants were excluded. Additionally, studies based on a single gender were excluded as gender impacts microbiota changes in MDD. Four studies addressed differences in microbiota with MDD and another four assessed shifts occurring with a low FODMAP diet. The abundance of Bacteroidetes, Bacteroidaceae and Bacteroides were lower in individuals with MDD but increased with a low FODMAP diet. Abundance of Ruminoccaceae was lower and Bilophila was higher with both a low FODMAP diet and MDD. These results provide preliminary evidence that a low FODMAP diet might drive changes in microbiota that also benefit people with MDD. Further research to assess whether a low FODMAP diet can treat MDD through modification of targeted microbiota is warranted.

Abstract
Objective Individuals with psychiatric illness suffer from poorer physical health compared with the general population and have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. This cross-sectional study aims to describe the prevalence of lifestyle and cardiovascular risk factors and the association with self-reported psychiatric symptoms in a population of 40-year-old individuals screened with targeted Health Dialogues in southern Sweden. Methods All 40-year-old individuals registered at 99 primary healthcare centers in southern Sweden were invited to participate. Self-reported lifestyle habits on a web questionnaire, anthropometric measurements, blood pressure, and blood tests were collected. The Health Dialogue resulted in a risk level assessment for different lifestyle habits and a meeting with a trained coach. Results A total of 1831 individuals completed a Health Dialogue between 1st January 2021 and 30th June 2022. There were more individuals with high-risk levels for several lifestyle habits in the group with self-reported psychiatric illness compared with the rest of the study population. The analysis showed that physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, high-risk alcohol intake, tobacco use, psychosocial strain, higher BMI, and waist-hip ratio were associated with increased levels of psychiatric symptoms after adjustment for sex and socioeconomic factors. Conclusion Unhealthy lifestyle habits were associated with self-reported psychiatric symptoms in 40-year-old individuals assessed with targeted Health Dialogues in a primary care context. Organized screening might contribute to early detection of modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Individuals with psychiatric symptoms should be prioritized for screening of unhealthy lifestyle behaviors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/INTRODUCTION Depressive and anxiety disorders constitute major mental health challenges affecting adults of all ages globally. It has been reported that individuals with depressive or anxiety disorders face an elevated risk of developing neurological conditions, including seizures and epilepsy. Additionally, people with these disorders tend to exhibit distinct clinical outcomes compared to the general population. However, the associations between depressive or anxiety disorders and epilepsy remain contentious. Thus, this study aims to elucidate the associations between these neuropsychiatric disorders, including depressive and anxiety disorders, and epilepsy or seizures. METHODS We will systematically search three electronic databases-PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library-from inception through March 2023 to identify relevant cohort studies investigating the associations between depressive or anxiety disorders and epilepsy or seizures. Two independent reviewers will extract data from eligible studies using pre-designed standardized data extraction forms, and cross-check results. A third author will resolve any discrepancies. Quality assessment will be performed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale (NOS). Pooled risk estimates (Relative risks or hazard ratios with their 95% CI) will be calculated using the DerSimonian-Laird random-effects model. If between-study heterogeneity is identified, we will conduct subgroup analyses or meta-regressions to explore the possible sources of heterogeneity (participants, exposure, outcome, and study design) stratified by various study characteristics. Potential publication bias will be detected through the inspection of funnel plot asymmetry, complemented by the Egger linear regression approach (Egger's test) and the Begg rank correlation test (Begg's test). DISCUSSION This pooled analysis will evaluate the association between depressive or anxiety disorders and epilepsy or seizures, providing high-level evidence to inform early identification and prevention strategies for epilepsy or seizures. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Given that the data utilized for analysis in this pooled analysis does not involve human subjects or medical records, no ethical approval is required for this study. Abstract
BACKGROUND Mental health is a rapidly evolving area of practice for dietitians. The role of dietitians in supporting the physical health of consumers experiencing mental illness is becoming more widely recognised given the importance of lifestyle interventions for physical health. The present study aimed to explore the dietitian role in mental health services as well as identify barriers and enablers to service delivery. METHODS This was a cross-sectional survey of dietitians currently employed in any capacity in public and private mental health services. An online survey comprised of questions pertaining to four domains, including demographics, role and service provision, experience and supervision, barriers/challenges and drivers/enablers was completed and included closed and open-ended responses. RESULTS In total, 48 responses were included. The mean ± SD age of respondents was 36.1 ± 10.9 years (range 23-67 years) with the majority working in inpatient settings. The top three tasks respondents reported conducting were individual consultations (n = 47; 98%), group programs (n = 23; 48%) and multidisciplinary team meetings. Barriers included a lack of awareness from others regarding a dietitian's role in mental health, and a lack of specific tools for nutrition screening. More training, resources and increased evidence base to guide practice would enable better service provision. CONCLUSIONS The present study provides insights regarding the possible drivers and barriers to effective service provision for dietitians working in mental health services focusing on the local contexts of respondents. The findings highlight the importance and value of working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Abstract
In everyday clinical practice, healthcare professionals often meet chronic pain patients with a poor nutritional status. A poor nutritional status such as malnutrition, unhealthy dietary behaviors, and a suboptimal dietary intake can play a significant role in the occurrence, development, and prognosis of chronic pain. The relationship between nutrition and chronic pain is complex and may involve many underlying mechanisms such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and glucose metabolism. As such, pain management requires a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach that includes nutrition. Nutrition is the top modifiable lifestyle factor for chronic non-communicable diseases including chronic pain. Optimizing one's dietary intake and behavior needs to be considered in pain management. Thus, this narrative review reports and summarizes the existing evidence regarding (1) the nutrition-related health of people experiencing pain (2) the underlying potential mechanisms that explain the interaction between nutrition and chronic pain, and (3) the role of nutrition screening, assessment and evaluation for people experiencing pain and the scope of nutrition practice in pain management. Future directions in the nutrition and chronic pain field are also discussed.
