Abstract
Available methods for determination of oxalate in urine are reviewed and classified into seven groups, namely: (1) direct precipitation; (2) solvent liquid-liquid extraction; (3) isotope dilution; (4) chromatographic (gas and HPLC); (5) enzymatic (involving enzymes dissolved or immobilized on reactors or electrodes); (6) flow methods (segmented and non-segmented); (7) other methods. In every case the advantages and disadvantages of the different methods are discussed.
