Abstract
PURPOSE We aimed to investigate the nursing process linkages formed by Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC) according to the primary NANDA-I diagnoses by registered nurses (RNs), customized to nursing home (NH) residents in Korea, using a developed smartphone application for NH RNs. METHODS This is a retrospective descriptive study. Applying quota sampling, a total of 51 NHs from all operating 686 NHs hiring RNs participated in this study. Data were collected from June 21 to July 30, 2022. Data on NANDA-I, NIC, NOC (NNN) of nurses applied to the NH residents were collected through a developed smartphone application. The application consists of general organization and residents' characteristics, NANDA-I, NIC, and NOC. RNs selected randomly up to 10 residents and NANDA-I with risk factors and related factors over the past 7 days, followed by all applied interventions out of 82 NIC. RNs then evaluated residents through 79 selected NOC. RESULTS We found the frequently used NANDA-I diagnoses, Nursing Interventions Classifications and Nursing Outcomes and Classifications applied for NH residents by RNs and developed the top five NOC linkages used to build care plan. CONCLUSION It is time to pursue high-level evidence and reply to the questions raised in NH practice using NNN with high technology. The outcomes for patients and nursing staff are improved by the continuity of care made possible by uniform language. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE NNN linkages should be used to construct and utilize the coding system of electronic health records or electronic medical records in Korean long-term care facilities.

Abstract
Objective: Non-pharmacological interventions are considered the first-line treatment for behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD); however, traditional approaches have shown only small effect sizes. Mobile technology offers an opportunity to improve BPSD assessment and management in people living with dementia (PLWD). We aimed (1) to develop a mobile application (app) featuring a real-time BPSD diary, machine-learning-based BPSD prediction, and individualized non-pharmacological care programs, including therapeutic use of music and reminiscent content, and (2) to test its usability, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy among PLWD and caregivers. Methods: An Android-based app was developed through the following three phases: (1) needs assessment, (2) software development and initial testing with experts, and (3) beta-testing with end users who were dyads of PLWD and caregivers. The preliminary efficacy, usability, and acceptability of the app were assessed using validated BPSD questionnaires and face-to-face interviews with the dyads. Logs of the dyads' program participation (i.e., types, time, and duration), BPSD diaries, and engagement levels of PLWD were also collected through the app. Results: Five dyads created BPSD diaries (range: 22-48) over 3 weeks. Overall, the BPSD symptoms decreased after the beta-testing period. Each dyad participated in the care programs for 106-204 min, during which music alone was most frequently used. Engagement levels ranged from 3.38 to 4.94 (out of 5). Conclusions: The app was deemed usable, acceptable, and feasible for PLWD and caregivers. The upgraded app will be further tested and can be easily implemented at home or in the community.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is highly prevalent in China, affecting over 114 million people. While mHealth interventions have shown promise, there is limited research on T2DM management apps in real-world app stores. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to systematically search and analyze T2DM care mobile apps in the Chinese market, describing their features, and functions, and evaluating the quality of the most popular apps using validated tools. METHODS We conducted a comprehensive search in Chinese Android and iOS app stores for T2DM management apps. We downloaded 138 eligible ones for a general review of their key features and function. We also assessed the quality of the top 20 apps from both platforms using the Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS) by both researcher and patient. RESULTS A total of 3524 apps were searched. 138 eligible apps were downloaded for general review and 29 popular apps were included for quality assessment. Most apps were designed for patient users (87.0 %) and developed by commercial companies (85.5 %). Common functions included blood glucose monitoring, diabetes education, integration with measuring devices, medication adherence reminders, teleconsultation services, and diabetes risk factor tracking. The researcher's evaluation yielded an average MARS score of 4.0 out of 5 for popular apps, with subscale scores of functionalities (4.5), aesthetics (4.1), engagement (3.7), and information (3.6). However, patient ratings were lower in functionality (3.5), aesthetics (3.4), and engagement (2.6), and the patient faced difficulties with information-related items. Similar trends were observed in subject quality items. CONCLUSION App developers should engage caregivers, and family members as target users, and involve government agencies as partners to improve T2DM management apps. Future apps should incorporate scientifically proven advanced functions to enhance their effectiveness. The quality assessment highlighted weaknesses in engagement and information and the importance of user-centric approaches in app development.

Abstract
PURPOSE We aimed to evaluate the usability of a smartphone application consisting of standardized nursing language (SNL) using NANDA, Nursing Intervention Classification, and Nursing Outcome Classification for nursing home nurses. DATA SOURCES Applying convenience sampling, a total of 14 experts and 15 real users were invited to test and evaluate the smartphone application independently. For the usability evaluation of the developed application, the Korean version of the Mobile Application Rating Scale for experts and Mobile Application Rating Scale: User Version developed by Stoyanov et al. were used. DATA SYNTHESIS Both groups determined that the SNL application was quite informative about SNL and efficient function; however, the engagement was quite lower than other categories. CONCLUSIONS Although SNLs were scientifically developed for several decades, the widely available technological application for registered nurses in different languages is urgently needed to improve quality of nursing care. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE The identified problems and recommendations by users and experts using heuristic evaluation will be reflected in the application's final version to be used for research.

Abstract
Background Early childhood caries (ECC) is a preventable chronic disease. Parents' knowledge and attitudes toward oral healthcare have been associated with higher caries experience in their children. Mobile apps within the context of mHealth interventions are a potential tool for raising awareness and informing parents about their children's oral health. Objectives The aim of this systematic review was to examine the effectiveness of mobile health apps, targeted at parents and caregivers, for the prevention of ECC. Data sources A systematic search was carried out in five scientific databases; Embase, CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsycINFO and Web of Science. Study selection and data extraction Original studies, delivering oral health interventions to parents of children <6 years via smartphones, were included. Both quantitative and qualitative findings from the included studies were extracted. Synthesis A convergent segregated approach was used to integrate the quantitative and qualitative evidence, followed by side-by-side display and narrative synthesis. Results Out of 5,953 retrieved articles, five met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. Three articles reported quantitative findings, while two reported both quantitative and qualitative findings. Four studies reported that a mobile app can be an effective tool to improve the oral health knowledge of parents/caregivers, aiding them in incorporating good oral health habits into their children's daily routines. Conclusion This review demonstrated that oral health promotion programs delivered through mobile apps to parents could be effective in improving child oral health awareness among parents. There is a need for more high-quality studies with a large number of participants to find out which features of mHealth interventions with parents could effectively be employed to reduce the prevalence of ECC. Further studies and apps should be developed based on evidence-based behaviour change techniques and incorporate features such as gamification to increase the effectiveness and engagement of the target population. Abstract
Background The purpose of this study was to evaluate HIV/AIDS mobile applications using the Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS) and rate the features of these applications using the new tool called the Feature-based Application Rating Method (FARM). Methods In this study, all available HIV/AIDS apps in Iran from Cafe Bazaar and Google Play Store due to inclusion criteria were studied. The evaluation of the quality of applications was done using the MARS tool and the FARM tool. The FARM, which was developed in this study, was applied to rank the features of the applications. Results In this study, 79 applications were included. The mean score of all apps using both tools was 3.58 (SD = 0.95) out of 5. The overall mean quality score based on the MARS was 3.14 (SD = 0.84), and the mean score of features based on FARM was 3.81 (SD = 1.23). This study showed a higher than moderate correlation between the scores assigned to apps based on the MARS and FARM tools (r > 0.4). Conclusions The HIV/AIDS mobile applications available in Iran had the "acceptable" ranking. Also, our study results showed that to evaluate mobile apps, using a single tool may not provide good insight to evaluators about the assessed apps. However, using more than one tool may provide more details about the evaluated apps. To improve the quality of mobile health apps and help users select the most desirable app, we suggested using tools like FARM for ranking apps based on the features of each app in the app stores. Abstract
The advancement of mobile technologies has motivated countries around the world to aim for smarter health management to support senior citizens. However, the use of mobile health applications (mHealth apps) among senior citizens appears to be low. Thus, drawing upon user expectations, the present study examined user requirements for a senior-friendly mHealth application. A total of 74 senior citizens were interviewed to explore the difficulties they encounter when using existing mobile apps. This study followed Nielsen’s usability model to identify user requirements from five aspects, namely learnability, efficiency, memorability, error, and satisfaction. Based on the results, a guideline was proposed pertaining to usability and health management features. This guideline offers suggestions for mHealth app issues related to phrasing, menus, simplicity, error messages, icons and buttons, navigation, and layout, among others. The study also found that speech recognition technology can help seniors access information quickly. The proposed guideline and findings offer valuable input for software and app developers in building more engaging and senior-friendly mHealth apps.
