Abstract
The only approved preventive treatment option GFD remains insufficient to manage Celiac Disease (CeD). A cohort of probiotic bacteria recently indicated that probiotic bacteria such as L. plantarum (LP) have a protective effect on CeD. LP has been a prominent probiotic, studied for numerous modulating properties. This review highlights and summarizes LP's ameliorating effect on various triggers/drivers of CeD. Probiotic LP potential for CeD is noticeable, mainly involving gut microbiota modulation, gluten digestion, intestinal homeostasis, CeD-associated pathogens reduction, and CD4 + T cell regulation. LP supplementation maintains intestinal physiology by improving the ratio of intestinal villus height to crypt depth. Gut microbiota modulation also improves tight junction proteins and the intestinal barrier. LP increases the digestibility of immunoreactive 33-mer gliadin peptides and regulates immune triggers such as CD4 + T cells. LP supplementation may minimize the gastrointestinal symptoms of CeD. Nevertheless, the therapeutic applicability of LP is subjected to significant clinical and nonclinical studies.

Abstract
Celiac disease is attributable to a combination of genetic predisposition and exposure to dietary gluten, with immune system involvement. The incidence is increasing globally, and the societal economic burden of celiac disease stretches beyond the cost of gluten-free food. This enteropathy that affects the small intestine has been related to different disorders and comorbidities. Thus, the implications of suffering from this disease are multidimensional and need further consideration. Celiac disease is a serious condition that remains under-recognized, resulting in an increased need for programs for better management. This review aims to summarize the current evidence regarding celiac diseases, with special emphasis on clinical implications, diagnosis, dietary management, socioeconomical aspects, and future perspectives.

Abstract
Celiac disease, a chronic autoimmune disorder caused by genetic factors and exposure to gluten, is increasingly being recognized and diagnosed in both children and adults. Scientists have been searching for a cure for this disease for many years, but despite the impressive development of knowledge in this field, a gluten-free diet remains the only recommended therapy for all patients. At the same time, the increasing diagnosis of celiac disease in adults, which was considered a childhood disease in the 20th century, has opened a discussion on the etiopathology of the disease, which is proven to be very complex and involves genetic, immunological, nutritional, environmental and gut microbiota-related factors. In this review, we extensively discuss these factors and summarize the knowledge of the proposed state-of-the-art treatments for celiac disease to address the question of whether a better understanding of the etiopathogenesis of celiac disease has opened new directions for therapy.

Abstract
Immunoreactive gluten peptides that are not digested by peptidases produced by humans can trigger celiac disease, allergy and non-celiac gluten hypersensitivity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of selected probiotic strains to hydrolyze immunoreactive gliadin peptides and to identify peptidase-encoding genes in the genomes of the most efficient strains. Residual gliadin immunoreactivity was measured after one- or two-step hydrolysis using commercial enzymes and bacterial peptidase preparations by G12 and R5 immunoenzymatic assays. Peptidase preparations from Lacticaseibacillus casei LC130, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei LPC100 and Streptococcus thermophilus ST250 strains significantly reduced the immunoreactivity of gliadin peptides, including 33-mer, and this effect was markedly higher when a mixture of these strains was used. In silico genome analyses of L. casei LC130 and L. paracasei LPC100 revealed the presence of genes encoding peptidases with the potential to hydrolyze bonds in proline-rich peptides. This suggests that L. casei LC130, L. paracasei LPC100 and S. thermophilus ST250, especially when used as a mixture, have the ability to hydrolyze immunoreactive gliadin peptides and could be administered to patients on a restricted gluten-free diet to help treat gluten-related diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The pathogenesis of cardiac arrhythmias is multifaceted, encompassing genetic, environmental, hemodynamic, and various causative factors. Emerging evidence underscores a plausible connection between gut flora, serum metabolites, and specific types of arrhythmias. Recognizing the role of host genetics in shaping the microbiota, we employed two-sample Mendelian randomization analyses to investigate potential causal associations between gut flora, serum metabolites, and distinct arrhythmias. METHODS Mendelian randomization methods were deployed to ascertain causal relationships between 211 gut flora, 575 serum metabolites, and various types of arrhythmias. To ensure the reliability of the findings, five complementary Mendelian randomization methods, including inverse variance weighting methods, were employed. The robustness of the results was scrutinized through a battery of sensitivity analyses, incorporating the Cochran Q test, leave-one-out test, and MR-Egger intercept analysis. RESULTS Eighteen gut flora and twenty-six serum metabolites demonstrated associations with the risk of developing atrial fibrillation. Moreover, ten gut flora and fifty-two serum metabolites were linked to the risk of developing supraventricular tachycardia, while eight gut flora and twenty-five serum metabolites were associated with the risk of developing tachycardia. Additionally, six gut flora and twenty-one serum metabolites exhibited associations with the risk of developing bradycardia. CONCLUSION This study revealed the potential causal relationship that may exist between gut flora, serum metabolites and different cardiac arrhythmias and highlights the need for further exploration. This study provides new perspectives to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in the field of cardiac arrhythmias.
