Abstract
BACKGROUND Patient education is an effective tool in enhancing compliance and comprehension to therapy. Preoperative video-based education (VBE) on knowledge and understanding of surgical procedures and physical therapy provides an insight into the essential need for treatment adherence and early post-operative recovery. Self-efficacy (SE) is an individual self-belief about one's ability to cope and is denoted as a sign of healthy behavior and empowerment. Although little is known about VBE and self-efficacy (SE) in rehabilitation of pulmonary surgery patients. The objective was to assess the influence of VBE in pulmonary rehabilitation on SE post pulmonary surgery patients using the Manipal Self Efficacy Questionnaire (MSEQ). METHODS Study design: Mixed methods pilot study. The MSEQ and educational video were designed and developed for this study. Piloting was conducted with the MSEQ (CVI = 0.95) and educational video (CVI = 1). After approval from the ethics committee, written informed consent was obtained from twenty preoperative pulmonary surgery patients were randomized to two groups. The control group (n = 30) received routine post-operative exercises and experimental group (n = 30) received preoperative VBE along with exercises. RESULTS Validation of MSEQ and educational video was derived as per content validation index. Mann- Whitney U test and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used to compare the groups. SE scores in the experimental group was higher than the control (p = 0.004). DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION VBE on PR improved SE of the patients after pulmonary surgery. The study's main limitation was the difficulty in attaining the desired sample size because it was a time-bound study.

Abstract
Background The integration of populations with various types of disabilities into basic life support (BLS) training programs could contribute to a potential increase in trained laypersons with BLS knowledge and, consequently, in survival rates. The objective of this study was to analyze the distinct educational methods which exist today on BLS for people with some type of specific disability, and to evaluate their impact on the quality of BLS maneuvers. Methods A scoping review in which the different training strategies in BLS for people with distinctive disabilities were analyzed was carried out. Previous studies were sought and researched in MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library from the beginning up to 4 August 2023. Results A total of 14 studies were thoroughly analyzed. The BLS training strategies for people with disabilities were classified according to the following criteria: objective (training, content validation or analysis of learning barriers), target population (visual, hearing, physical disabilities or Down syndrome), training resources (training with/without adaptation), contents (BLS and use of the automated external defibrillator) and evaluation instrument (i.e., the simulation test and knowledge questionnaire). The variety of BLS training programs for such population is limited. Likewise, people with different disabilities are able to effectively learn BLS maneuvers, although with mixed results, mainly in those regarding the CPR quality. Conclusion People with visual, hearing disabilities or Down syndrome are able to effectively learn BLS maneuvers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the effectiveness of an educational video on deaf people's knowledge and skills about cardiopulmonary resuscitation. METHOD A randomized trial, carried out at three schools with 113 deaf people (control group = 57 and intervention group = 56). After the pre-test, the control group was exposed to the lecture, while the intervention group was exposed to the video. The post-test occurred immediately after the intervention and was repeated after 15 days. A validated instrument was used, with 11 questions, presented in video/Libras (to enable understanding by deaf people) and in written/printed form (to record the answers). RESULTS In the analysis of knowledge, the median of correct answers in the pre-test was similar between the groups (p = 0.635), while the intervention group had a higher accuracy in the immediate post-test (p = 0.035) and after 15 days (p = 0.026). In the skill analysis, the median of correct answers in the pre-test was higher in the control group (p = 0.031). There was no difference in the immediate post-test (p = 0.770), and there was a higher accuracy in the intervention group in the post-test after 15 days (p = 0.014). CONCLUSION The video proved to be effective in increasing deaf people's knowledge and skills about cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Brazilian Registry of Clinical Trials: RBR-5npmgj.

Abstract
Introduction Self-care is one of the concepts to be strengthened in future nurses from a learner centered education perspective. Objective To estimate the validation of an educational strategy through both experts and the target population judgment. Materials and Methods The research followed a convergent parallel sequential mixed qualitative-quantitative approach. In the qualitative phase, analysis of lexical similarities and hermeneutic phenomenological analysis was carried out with six students. The quantitative phase included opinions from ten experts; CVI and arithmetic mean were calculated to assess pertinence, coherence, relevance, and clarity. The Brennan-Prediger coefficient was used for measuring agreement. Results Relationships between action inducement and introspection of self-care behaviors are identified. Overall CVI was 0.96, with a mean of 3.7±0.4. Regarding agreement, the item 'specific objectives' was the one that showed a p-value of 0.054 and a coefficient of 0.37. Concerning clarity, the lowest mean (3.4±0.8) and CVI (0.8) values were observed. The remaining items have a p-value >0.05. Discussion In validating the educational intervention by the experts, a content validity index was obtained with values higher than desirable. This result is similar to that reported by other authors whose information was rated as sufficient and necessary. Conclusion The educational intervention has the criteria for content validity according to both experts and the target population, as manifested by the reflection on the transformation of some self-care behaviors in nursing students.

Abstract
IntroductionUsing video tutorials to deliver instructional content has become common practices nowadays. However, it is required to investigate how to implement new methods to deliver instructional content to deaf students to ensure success of their learning and reduce their reliance on personnel support or consultation from hearing peers. Therefore, and in light of cognitive theory of multimedia learning, this study experimented three different video tutorial methods to deliver instructional content that are tailored to deaf students’ learning needs. The three methods included: (a) sign language only, (b) captioned text only, and (c) sign language and captioned text combined.MethodsThe study applied a mixed methods research design using pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design (tests scores) and qualitative research design (interviews). Fifty-four undergraduate deaf students from a large university in Saudi Arabia participated in this study, and of those participants, fifteen deaf students participated in semistructured interviews. Results and discussionOne-way analysis of variance results showed that using video tutorial that presents declarative content with captions only was significantly effective in comparison with the other methods. While the video tutorial that presents procedural content with sign language only was significantly effective in comparison with the other methods. Interview results confirmed the quantitative results. Practical and theoretical implications are discussed.

Abstract
Introduction: The elderly population is highly vulnerable to malnutrition, including those in the community. The use of nutrition education as part of nutrition intervention is able to improve their nutritional status. Hence, provision of a nutrition resource kit addressing the needs of at-risk and malnourished elderly would be advantageous. This research aimed to develop, validate and evaluate the acceptance of a newly developed nutrition resource kit, which served as an educational material among at-risk and malnourished elderly in Malaysian health clinics. Methods: This study was conducted in three phases: Phase I comprised of qualitative needs assessment to identify the types of nutrition resource kit needed; Phase II was the development and validation of the nutrition resource kit; while Phase III was acceptance evaluation, which involved individual in-depth interview and triangulation. Results: An A5-sized booklet with incorporation of an educational video in a QR code was developed. Both printed material and educational video had excellent content and face validity. Suggestions by experts and elderly from validation were considered and revision was done accordingly. Acceptance evaluation revealed four themes: 1) positive acceptance, 2) elderly-friendly, 3) valuable, and 4) individual preference. Triangulation data revealed that all elderly positively evaluated both resources. Additional suggestions given by elderly were considered for improvement. Conclusion: This newly developed nutrition resource kit, both in the printed and electronic format, was well-accepted among the at-risk and malnourished elderly. It could be used as an important reference for the elderly, especially those attending health clinics, in treating and preventing malnutrition.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Flipped classroom pedagogy is a blended learning approach applied in undergraduate health professions education. However, teachers and students may require training to effectively engage in flipped classroom pedagogy. Thus, this study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate a web-based tool for fostering flipped classroom pedagogy in undergraduate health professions education. METHODS This is an educational design-based research with a descriptive evaluation component which was conducted in two steps: (i) design & development and (ii) evaluation of an educational website. An expert panel was formed to evaluate the website by using a website evaluation questionnaire (WEQ). Descriptive statistics were employed to calculate the experts' agreement level. RESULTS An innovative website design was used to provide access to a range of digital devices. The development process occurred concurrently in two steps: (i) website development and (ii) learning content development. The educational website was branded as the Flipped Classroom Navigator (FCN). Based on WEQ scores, the FCN obtained a good level of agreement (≥ 80%) for its' ease of use, hyperlinks, structure, relevance, comprehension, completeness, and layout. CONCLUSIONS The FCN is an effective method for providing training to promote flipped classroom pedagogy in health professions education. The FCN achieved good evaluation scores and comments from experts. However, it is also necessary to obtain acceptance from the end-users, which could be the focus of future research. Nonetheless, the expert panel pinpointed areas for further development before introducing the FCN to end-users.

Resultados: compuseram a amostra final oito artigos.

Abstract
PURPOSE The main stage of developing an educational health technology is meeting the expectations of users. Nurses in Brazil can benefit from online training about therapeutic play interventions. This study identified the learning demands of nurses for acquiring competence in the use of therapeutic play to build an online course. DESIGN AND METHODS Focus groups study, guided by the COREQ guidelines. Nurses experienced in pediatric care participated in eight groups held in hospitals across all Brazilian regions in 2018. The focus group interviews had a mean duration of two hours and were moderated by the main researcher and an observer, both of whom were nurses experienced in qualitative research. All interviews were audio recorded. The transcripts of the audios were coded, from which the themes were developed, and thematic analysis performed. RESULTS Nurses (N = 53, 8.5 ± 6.3 years of experience in pediatric care) reported their learning demands in three themes: "Learning theoretical concepts", "Developing therapeutic play skills", and "Learning the therapeutic play in a fun, interactive and motivational online environment". CONCLUSION Nurses learning demands involve theoretical concepts and skills to implement therapeutic play through an interesting online course. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS By developing play-based competence through an online learning environment nurses can feel confident in implementing therapeutic play into their pediatric practice, setting the stage for a future of positive interaction between nurses and children in pediatric health care.

Abstract
Objective: to build and validate the content on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) of a
sign language instrument for assessing the knowledge of the deaf. Method: methodological study in which the content validity process was used by 22
specialists in cardiac arrest and 16 deaf people. In the validation of
internal consistency, 113 deaf people participated. For the assessment of
the deaf, the Assistive Technology Assessment Questionnaire was used and, in
the content validity, an instrument with a Likert scale was used, which
included the content, clarity, objectivity, organization and language. Items
with a minimum agreement of 80% were considered valid, according to the
Content Validity Index (CVI) and binomial test. The internal consistency was
verified by Cronbach’s alpha. Results: The instrument contains 11 questions about the identification of
cardiorespiratory arrest, activation by aid and high quality chest
compression. It had a minimum content validity of 81% by the specialists,
90% by the deaf participants and internal consistency by the Cronbach alpha
of 0.86, being considered high. Conclusion: the instrument can be used in research to survey the previous knowledge of
deaf people about CPR, as well as in pre and/or post-testing studies that
test educational interventions with this public.

Abstract
Objective: to describe the development of an English and Brazilian Portuguese Holistic Debriefing Tool focused on nursing educator to promote a reflective learning. Method: a methodology study, with three phases: integrative literature review; tool development and review of a panel of nursing experts. The literature review tracked a systematic process. For the tool development were used literature review results, Lederman’s Debriefing Process and Zabala’s learning framework as theoretical referential to promote a reflective learning in High-Fidelity Simulation. The panel of nursing experts analysed the quality of the tool. Results: literature review evidenced gaps about educator pedagogical preparation and indicated no holistic debriefing tool exists which captures formative and summative aspects of debriefing guidance to assist the educator to debrief. Debriefing tool was purposed with two pages: first page were recommended how conduct debriefing and second page is a questions guidance. The tool evaluation was undertaken for a total of three modifications for congruence and concept reader clarity. Conclusion: it was proposed a holistic debriefing tool focused on nursing educator. This study provides an overall picture of the process to promote a reflexive learning in High-Fidelity Simulation and to contribute to formal nursing educator training to apply best pedagogical practice.
