Abstract
Objectives Acne scarring occurs from skin damage following acne healing. Treatments such as chemical peels, dermabrasion, and laser therapy can effectively enhance scars' appearance but could be expensive. This study aimed to reflect participants' awareness of treatment options and their willingness to pay (WTP), evaluating their association with sociodemographics, severity, and quality of life (QoL). Material and Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from June to July of 2023. Study participants were chosen using a non-probability sampling technique. Participants were aged 18 or older, had acne scarring, and resided in Riyadh. Data analysis was performed using RStudio, with P < 0.05 indicating statistical significance. Results A total of 401 adult participants were included in the study. The prevalence of acne scarring among the participants was 63.4%. About 45.8% of the participants expressed a WTP of <1000 Saudi Riyals (SAR), while 42.2% were willing to pay 1000-6000 SAR. The most well-recognized acne scar management modalities were laser resurfacing (66.3%) and chemical peels (64.1%), while the least recognized were collagen/fat filler injections (23.9%) and radiofrequency microneedling (27.7%). Conclusion The most recognized acne scar treatment modalities were laser resurfacing and chemical peels. Participants were willing to pay for reasons such as psychological impact, income levels, and awareness of treatment modalities. The findings could influence dermatologists to start awareness campaigns to debunk misconceptions about acne scar treatment modalities and their efficacy in improving QoL.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disorder that can adversely affect the patient's quality of life (QOL). However, few studies have examined the association between the psychological burden and willingness to pay (WTP) with rosacea features and severity. OBJECTIVES The study aimed to determine the overall psychological burden and WTP among Korean rosacea patients and identify factors that may contribute, such as patient demographics, clinical features, and rosacea severity. METHODS This prospective cross-sectional study recruited Koreans with rosacea. All were asked to complete a questionnaire on their demographics, rosacea-related symptoms, self-rated severity, dermatology life quality index (DLQI), and WTP. The clinical features were assessed by a board-certified dermatologist. The investigator's global assessment and global flushing severity score (GFSS) were used to determine the clinical severity of rosacea. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to identify factors contributing to the psychological burden and WTP. RESULTS Out of 201 rosacea patients, 147 (73.1%) were female, and 54 (26.9%) males, with a median age of 50.1 years. Their median DLQI score was 8 (interquartile range [IQR]): 4.0-13.0). The median WTP per month for the control of rosacea was $100, with relative WTP (WTP/household income per month x 100) being 3.3%. According to the multiple regression model, phymatous change (β = .153, p = .030), DLQI score (β = .152, P = .045), and GFSS (β = .154, P = .041) contributed most to the WTP. CONCLUSION Rosacea patients experience substantial psychological and economic burdens. More vigorous treatment should be performed for those with phyma and severe flushing whose QOL is most severely affected.

Abstract
Background and objectives In Saudi Arabia, Acne vulgaris is a very predominant ailment and Pharmacists currently have standardized protocols at their disposal for the treatment of acne. Pharmacists often prescribe medications for minor cases of acne. Therefore, this study aimed to explore community pharmacists (CPs)' knowledge, attitudes, and practice toward acne management in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Methods An online cross-sectional study was conducted among CPs working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from January and April 2021, using a self-administered, questionnaire, was divided into four sections that collected information from the CP's Knowledge, attitudes, and practices and the management of acne vulgaris. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 26 (SPSS). Result A total of 313 CPs were enrolled in the study who successfully returned the questionnaire. The mean score of knowledge on etiology, pathophysiology, and therapy for AV was 5.3 ± (SD = 1.5). However, the majority of CPs had a moderate level of knowledge (80.8%), followed by mild to moderate (12.8%). This study showed that CPs had an insufficient level of knowledge about ace management, about 6% of CPs have a high level of knowledge. Inadequate knowledge was revealed in their management practice, only 0.3% of CPs treated patients with acne on their own without a referral. In addition, CPs showed a positive attitude toward acne management. Conclusion There is a need to improve CPs' understanding of acne care and to contribute to participating in organized training sessions on the management of AV.

Abstract
Post-acne scarring is a common consequence of acne vulgaris with no universal cure. Although there have been many recent advances to address acne scars physically, there is still a lack of research that investigates their psychosocial impacts. Our comprehensive PubMed search presents an overview of existing information to highlight known sources of mental distress caused by post-acne scarring, both related to and independent of the psychosocial detriments caused early on by active acne. The literature indicates that acne scarring is a distinct condition from acne vulgaris and therefore requires a comprehensive clinical approach unique from those available for active acne.

Abstract
Background Acne vulgaris (acne) is common among young persons (YPs). Clinical practice guidelines are available for acne management to minimize their physical and psychological impact. However, evidence of adherence to these guidelines is sparse in primary care practices. The study aimed to determine the demographic profile of YPs who sought primary care consultations for acne, their related prescriptions and referrals to specialists for further management. Method A retrospective study was conducted using data from a cluster of eight public primary care clinics in Singapore. Demographic, clinical, prescription, and referral data were extracted from the electronic health records of YPs aged 10-29 years with a documented diagnosis of acne (ICD-10 classification) from 1st July 2018 to 30th June 2020. The data were reviewed, audited for eligibility criteria, and de-identified before analysis. Results Complete data from 2,700 YPs with acne were analyzed. Male (56.1%) YPs and those of Chinese ethnicity (73.8%) had the most frequent attendances for acne. The mean and median age at presentation was 19.2 (standard deviation = 4.3) and 19 (interquartile range = 16-22) years, respectively. Only 69.7% of YPs received an acne-related medication; 33.5% received antibiotic monotherapy; 53.0% were prescribed oral doxycycline, 35.0% acne cream (combination of sulfur, salicylic acid, and resorcinol), and 28.4% benzoyl peroxide 5% gel; 54.3% of those treated with antibiotics were prescribed with a shorter duration than recommended; 51.3% were referred to a dermatologist on their first visit, and 15.8% had more than one visit. Conclusion Acne management for YPs can be enhanced with refresher training among primary care physicians for better adherence to its clinical practice guidelines.

Abstract
The medical literature on aesthetic dermatology has primarily focused on a light-skinned patient population, yet patients of darker skin types have different needs and priorities. In Chinese individuals, key concerns include altered pigmentation, which is perceived to age the individual, and also relates to the Chinese cultural standard of beauty of fair skin; many seek aesthetic treatment for this. Non-invasive cosmetic procedures such as lasers and injections are also gaining in popularity in the Chinese market, but this population is prone to hyperpigmentation as an adverse effect of such procedures. Considered and tailored approaches, both to primary concerns of photoaging and the side effects of cosmetic treatments, are warranted.

Abstract
The efficacy and safety of commercial low-concentration glycolic acid products on acne were evaluated by recruiting volunteers accompanying mild to moderate acne of different ages and genders, which is a clinical practice for acne. We recruited a total of 30 volunteers according to the inclusion criteria, conducting clinical evaluation and skin physiological index testing, VISIA skin analysis, distributing products, and informing the trial method. Clinical testing and assessment will be carried out in weeks 0, 1, 2, and 4. 27 acne volunteers finished the entire trial. After 4 weeks of using low-concentration glycolic acid products, most subjects experienced significant improvement in their skin lesions and the GAGS score. At the same time, the VISIA test showed that the subjects had an obvious amelioration in facial porphyrins, which was statistically significant, and there was a slight improvement in residual spots and erythema. The skin physiological indexes showed that the skin hydration value increased from 236.2 ± 98.05 to 278.2 ± 90.26 after 14 days. At the end of the test, the skin hydration value dropped to 234.6 ± 81.88. Regarding the melanin and erythema, the value decreased in the 4th week significantly. Repeated use of 5% low-concentration glycolic acid improves the appearance and chromaticity of the treatment site. It increases the brightness L* and reduces the redness a*. This study shows that low concentrations of glycolic acids have a good effect on the treatment of mild to moderate acne. It may pay the way to carry out further large-scale clinical research.

Abstract
The Cardiff Acne Disability Index (CADI) is a questionnaire designed to measure the quality of life of teenagers and young adults with acne. It has been used clinically and within therapeutic research globally. This review aims to appraise all published data regarding the clinical and research experience of the CADI, its psychometric properties and validation, from its publication in 1992 until September 2020, in a single reference source. A literature search was conducted using MEDLINE via Ovid, PubMed, EBSCOhost, Web of Science and Scopus. All full articles in the English language were included. A total of 96 clinical studies were identified and analysed. The CADI has been used in 44 different countries, including four multinational studies, and has validated translations in 25 languages. Overall, 29 therapeutic interventions have used the CADI, demonstrating its responsiveness to change. The reliability of the CADI has been assessed in 14 studies through test-retest and internal consistency studies. In total, 57 studies have demonstrated aspects of its validity through correlation to other measures, and five studies have investigated the dimensionality of the CADI. There is evidence of high internal consistency, test-retest reliability, responsiveness to change and significant correlation with other objective measures. The minimal clinically important difference and validated score meaning bands have not yet been reported. This information is needed to improve the interpretability of CADI scores for clinical use and in research. The authors of the CADI have also rephrased Question 2 of the measure to ensure inclusivity.

Abstract
PURPOSE Botulinum toxin (BTX) is a new treatment approach primarily aimed at relieving flushing and erythema for rosacea, but it is expensive and lacks economic benefit evaluation studies.This study aimed to investigate willingness-to-pay (WTP) of BTX treatment and conduct benefit-cost analysis (BCA) to assess if BTX treatment for rosacea is recommendable from a viewpoint of economics in China. METHODS WTP of BTX treatment in rosacea and information of sociodemographic and clinical characteristics were inquired via an online questionnaire among the Chinese rosacea patients. The WTP was inquired by photos of three cases with different severities of rosacea before and after BTX treatment. The benefit-cost ratio (BCR) was calculated by dividing WTP by cost. Factors associated with WTP were identified using logistic regression models. RESULTS The average costs of BTX treatment were USD410.09. The mean WTP for Case 1, Case 2, and Case 3 was USD295.53, 307.91, and 311.78, respectively (p<0.05 for Case 1 vs Case 3). 44.31% to 47.52% of Chinese rosacea patients were willing to pay for the BTX treatment. The BCRs were 0.72, 0.75, and 0.76 for Case 1, Case 2, and Case 3, respectively. A positive correlation between WTP and visiting frequency in the past year (OR=1.181-1.200, p=0.015-0.032, for Cases 1 and 2) or Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) score (OR=2.022-2.266, all p<0.01) was observed, but duration (OR=0.521-0.564, p<0.05, for Cases 1 and 2) of rosacea was negatively correlated with WTP. CONCLUSION For rosacea patients with poor quality of life, and those with high visiting frequency, BTX should be regarded as a recommendable new treatment in China.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Intense pulsed light (IPL), as a therapeutic approach for rosacea, had advantage in removing erythema and telangiectasia and was gradually accepted by rosacea patients, but there have been few studies on economic evaluation of this therapy. PURPOSE This study aimed to detect willingness-to-pay (WTP) of IPL treatment for rosacea and to conduct a benefit-cost analysis (BCA) among the Chinese population, so as to provide an economic reference for doctors to make treatment decisions. MATERIALS AND METHODS An observational, cross-sectional study assessed respondent's demographic characteristics and willingness-to-pay (WTP) of IPL and rosacea patients' clinical data and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). WTP was obtained by contingent valuation (CV) method. In brief, contrast figures of three cases treated with IPL (Case1, Case2, and Case3 represented the increasing severity of rosacea) were showed and WTP was inquired. The costs were obtained according the market and compared with WTP (benefits) to get a benefit-cost ratio (BCR). Predictors of cost-effective WTP were identified using the multivariable logistic regression model. RESULTS A total of 303 rosacea patients and 202 controls were included in the study. The average cost of a single IPL treatment for rosacea was USD 208.04 in Changsha, China. The mean WTP for Case 1, Case 2, and Case 3 was USD 201.57, 214.64, and 221.74, respectively. WTP was statistically lower for Case 1 than that for Case 2 or Case 3 (P<0.05). The BCRs were 0.85, 1.03, and 1.06 for Case 1, Case 2, and Case 3, respectively. WTP is significantly associated with household monthly income, previous treatment cost, and DLQI after adjustments for demographic characteristics (P<0.05). CONCLUSION IPL is an acceptable treatment for rosacea with moderate to severe erythema. For patients with relatively high income or severely impaired quality of life, IPL is an economically feasible therapy and deserves to be recommended.
