Abstract
Polybutylene succinate (PBS) is a biodegradable aliphatic polyester with excellent thermal stability, mechanical properties, and processability. The synthesis of PBS typically employs titanium-based catalysts like tetrabutyl titanate (TBT) to accelerate the reaction. However, TBT acts as a homogeneous catalyst and is non-recyclable. This study aims to minimize the cost of recovering liquid TBT catalyst during PBS synthesis by using TBT-loaded activated carbon for direct esterification and optimizing the process conditions. The catalyst was analyzed using inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, automated specific surface area and pore size analysis, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The product was evaluated through infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectra, and gel permeation chromatography. The optimal process parameters were determined to be an esterification temperature of 170 °C, a polycondensation temperature of 235 °C, an acid-to-alcohol molar ratio of 1:1.2, a catalyst amount of 0.06 g, and a dehydration time of 3 h. Under these conditions, the weight-average molecular weight of PBS reached 47,655, reducing the catalyst usage from 0.5% to 0.3%, resulting in a 24.7% increase in catalytic efficiency compared to TBT, significantly lowering costs. After five cycles of reuse, the weight-average molecular weight of the product remained above 35,000. This study demonstrates that TBT-loaded activated carbon exhibits superior catalytic performance, offering a cost-effective and efficient method for industrial PBS production with broad application potential.

Abstract
Oxazolines are important heterocyclic systems due to their biological activities, such as antibacterial, antimalarial, anticancer, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antipyretic, and antileishmanial. They have been widely applied as chiral auxiliaries, polymers, catalysts, protecting groups, building blocks, and ligands in asymmetric synthesis. Due to their importance, many synthetic routes to prepare oxazoline moieties have been investigated and developed by researchers around the world. In this review, we summarized several synthetic methodologies published in the literature. The main substrates are nitriles, carboxylic acids, and acid derivatives, which react with a variety of reactants under conventional heating, microwave irradiation or ultrasound irradiation conditions. Syntheses via intramolecular cyclisation from amides have also been reported. Many publications have highlighted procedures based on solvent-free conditions using eco-friendly, reusable, and easy-availability catalysts.

Abstract
Presented herein are novel syntheses of CF3-isoquinolinones and imidazole fused CF3-isoquinolinones based on the cascade reactions of 2-aryloxazolines with trifluoromethyl imidoyl sulfoxonium ylides. The formation of CF3-isoquinolinone involves an intriguing cascade process including oxazolinyl group-assisted aryl alkylation through C(sp2)-H bond metalation, carbene formation, migratory insertion, and proto-demetalation followed by intramolecular condensation and water-promoted oxazolinyl ring-scission. With this method, the isoquinolinone scaffold tethered with valuable functional groups was effectively constructed. By taking advantage of the functional groups embedded therein, the products thus obtained could be readily transformed into imidazole-fused CF3-isoquinolinones or coupled with some clinical drugs to furnish hybrid compounds with potential applications in drug development. In general, the developed protocols feature expeditious and convenient formation of valuable CF3-heterocyclic skeletons, broad substrate scope, and ready scalability. In addition, studies on the activity of selected products against some human cancer cell lines demonstrated their potential as lead compounds for the development of novel anticancer drugs.

Abstract
We report two practical and step-economical methodologies for the chemodivergent synthesis of tri-substituted pyrroles and 3-oxazolines from the domino reactions of 2H-azirines and acetone. For instance, acetone served as a nucleophile to react with 2H-azirines under the basic conditions to furnish pyrroles. Upon changing the catalyst to TfOH, acetone served as an electrophile to synthesize 3-oxazolines. Moreover, the products could be synthesized on a gram scale, and the possible catalytic cycles were proposed.

Abstract
The reaction of lithium hexa-methyl-disilyl-amide, [Li{N(Si(CH3)3)2}] (LiHMDS), with 4,4-dimethyl-2-phenyl-2-oxazoline (Phox, C11H13NO) in hexane produced colourless crystals of bis-(4,4-dimethyl-2-phenyl-2-oxazoline-κN)(hexa-methyl-disilyl-amido-κN)lithium, [Li(C6H18NSi2)(C11H13NO)2] or [Li{N(Si(CH3)3)2}(Phox)2] in high yield (89%). Despite the 1:1 proportion of the starting materials in the reaction mixture, the product formed with a 1:2 amide:oxazoline ratio. In the unit cell of the C2/c space group, the neutral mol-ecules lie on twofold rotation axes coinciding with the Li-N(amide) bonds. The lithium(I) centre adopts a trigonal-planar coordination geometry with three nitro-gen donor atoms, one from the HMDS anion and two from the oxazolines. All ligands are monodentate. In the phenyl-oxazoline units, the dihedral angle defined by the five-membered heterocyclic rings is 35.81 (5)°, while the phenyl substituents are approximately face-to-face, separated by 3.908 (5) Å. In the amide, the methyl groups assume a nearly eclipsed arrangement to minimize steric repulsion with the analogous substituents on the oxazoline rings. The non-covalent inter-actions in the solid-state structure of [Li{N(Si(CH3)3)2}(Phox)2] were assessed by Hirshfeld surface analysis and fingerprint plots. This new compound is attractive for catalysis due to its unique structural features.

Abstract
A highly chemoselective and enantioselective fluorescent probe has been discovered for the recognition of prolinol among various primary and secondary amine-based amino alcohols. The mechanistic studies including 1D and 2D 1H/13C NMR and mass spectroscopic analyses and DFT calculations have shown that the aldehyde group of the probe can react with prolinol to generate a bicyclic oxazolidine unit which, through a possible intramolecular hydrogen bond interaction, will lead to highly selective fluorescence enhancement.

Abstract
Hypervalent iodine catalyst-catalyzed nucleophilic fluorination of unsaturated amides using BF3·Et2O as the fluorine source and activating reagent was reported. Various 5-fluoro-2-oxazoline derivatives were synthesized in good to excellent yields (up to 95% isolated yield) within 10 min. The process was efficient and metal-free under mild conditions. A mechanism involving a fluorination/1,2-aryl migration/cyclization cascade was proposed on the basis of previous work and experimental results.

Abstract
A time-economical and robust synthesis of various selenofunctionalized heterocycles was accomplished via I2O5-mediated selenocyclizations of olefins with diselenides. Using this method, 116 selenomethyl-substituted heterocycles were synthesized with up to 97% isolated yield in minutes. Additional features of this new protocol include the use of an inorganic oxidant, mild conditions, and easy operation. Preliminary investigations suggest that the transformation operates through selenenyl iodide-induced electrophilic cyclization.

Abstract
Two synthetic strategies for a new family of neutral NON ligands featuring a "bis(oxazolinylmethylidene)isobenzofuran" framework (boxman) are reported. A Pd-mediated cyclization reaction forming the isobenzofuran core constitutes the key reaction in the eight-step synthetic route to the nonbackbone-methylated target compound H,Rboxman. In contrast, the introduction of two additional methyl groups provides stereochemical control during backbone construction and thereby access to the methylated derivative Me,Rboxman, which was synthesized in five steps and improved yields. In addition, the synthetic sequence was transferred to the thio analogue, providing access to the NSN ligand H,Rboxmene. Subsequent complexation experiments with iron and cobalt chloride precursors afforded the four-coordinated chlorido complexes Me,RboxmanMCl2 (R = Ph, iPr; M = Fe, Co) and established the boxman family as trans-chelating, bidentate bis(oxazoline) ligands. Application of the latter in the nickel(II)- and zinc(II)-catalyzed α-fluorination of β-ketoesters and oxindoles (up to 98% yield and 94% ee) demonstrated their suitability for enantioselective catalysis.
