Abstract
Helicobacter pylori causes severe stomach disorders and the use of enzyme inhibitors for treatment is one of the possible therapies. The great biological potential of imine analogs as urease inhibitors has been the focus of researchers in past years. In this regard, we have synthesized twenty-one derivatives of dichlorophenyl hydrazide. These compounds were characterized by different spectroscopic techniques i.e. NMR and HREI-MS. Compounds 2 and 10 were found to be the most active in the series. Structure-activity relationship has been established for all compounds based on different substituents attached to the phenyl ring that play a vital role in enzyme inhibition. From the structure-activity relationship, it has been observed that these analogs showed excellent potential for urease and can be an alternate therapy in the future. The molecular docking study was performed to further explore the binding interactions of synthesized analogs with enzyme active sites.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
The nsp3 macrodomain and nsp12 (RdRp) enzymes are strongly implicated in the virulent regulation of the host immune response and viral replication of SARS-CoV-2, making them plausible therapeutic targets for mitigating infectivity. Remdesivir remains the only FDA-approved small-molecule inhibitor of the nsp12 in clinical conditions while none has been approved yet for the nsp3 macrodomain. In this study, 69,067 natural compounds from the IBScreen database were screened for efficacious potentials with mechanistic multitarget-directed inhibitory pharmacology against the dual targets using in silico approaches. Standard and extra precision (SP and XP) Maestro glide docking analyses were employed to evaluate their inhibitory interactions against the enzymes. Four compounds, STOCK1N-45901, 03804, 83408, 08377 consistently showed high XP scores against the respective targets and interacted strongly with pharmacologically essential amino acid and RNA residues, in better terms than the standard, co-crystallized inhibitors, GS-441524 and remdesivir. Further assessments through the predictions of ADMET and mutagenicity distinguished STOCK1N-45901, a natural derivative of o-hydroxybenzoate as the most promising candidate. The ligand maintained a good conformational and thermodynamic stability in complex with the enzymes throughout the trajectories of 100 ns molecular dynamics, indicated by RMSD, RMSF and radius of gyration plots. Its binding free energy, MM-GBSA was recorded as -54.24 and -31.77 kcal/mol against the respective enzyme, while its structure-activity relationships confer high probabilities as active antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antiinfection, antitussive and peroxidase inhibitor. The IBScreen database natural product, STOCK1N-45901 (2,3,4,5,6-pentahydroxyhexyl o-hydroxybenzoate) is thus recommended as a potent inhibitor of dual nsp3 and nsp12 of SARS-CoV-2 for further study. Abstract
Anthracyclines currently play a key role in the treatment of many cancers, but the limiting factor of their use is the widespread phenomenon of drug resistance and untargeted toxicity. Flavonoids have pleiotropic, beneficial effects on human health that, apart from antioxidant activity, are currently considered small molecules-starting structures for drug development and enhancers of conventional therapeutics. This paper is a review of the current and most important data on the participation of a selected series of flavonoids: chrysin, apigenin, kaempferol, quercetin and myricetin, which differ in the presence of an additional hydroxyl group, in the formation of a synergistic effect with anthracycline antibiotics. The review includes a characterization of the mechanism of action of flavonoids, as well as insight into the physicochemical parameters determining their bioavailability in vitro. The crosstalk between flavonoids and the molecular activity of anthracyclines discussed in the article covers the most important common areas of action, such as (1) disruption of DNA integrity (genotoxic effect), (2) modulation of antioxidant response pathways, and (3) inhibition of the activity of membrane proteins responsible for the active transport of drugs and xenobiotics. The increase in knowledge about the relationship between the molecular structure of flavonoids and their biological effect makes it possible to more effectively search for derivatives with a synergistic effect with anthracyclines and to develop better therapeutic strategies in the treatment of cancer.

Abstract
Six flavonoid derivatives were synthesized and tested for anti-α-glucosidase activities. All derivatives were confirmed using NMR and HRMS and exhibited excellent inhibitory effects on α-glucosidase. Derivative four exhibited the highest anti-α-glucosidase activity (IC50: 15.71 ± 0.21 μM). Structure-activity relationship results showed that bromine group would be the most beneficial group to anti-α-glucosidase activity. Inhibitory mechnism and inhibition kinetics results showed derivative four was a reversible and mixed-type inhibitor. Molecular docking revealed that derivative four was tightly bind to the amino acid residues of active pocket of α-glucosidase and formed hydrogen bond, π-π stacking, and Pi-Donor hydrogen with α-glucosidase. Moreover, the physicochemical parameters of all derivatives were assessed using SwissADME software. This results also showed that the hybridization of flavonoid and phenylpropionic acid would be a useful strategy for the development of α-glucosidase inhibitors.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial global health disorder that is rising at an alarming rate. Cardiovascular diseases, kidney damage and neuropathy are the main cause of high mortality rates among individuals with diabetes. One effective therapeutic approach for controlling hyperglycemia associated with type-2 diabetes is to target alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase, enzymes that catalyzes starch hydrolysis in the intestine. At present, approved inhibitors for these enzymes are restricted to acarbose, miglitol and voglibose. Although these inhibitors retard glucose absorption, undesirable gastrointestinal side effects impede their application. Therefore, research efforts continue to seek novel inhibitors with improved efficacy and minimal side effects. Natural products of plant origin have been a valuable source of therapeutic agents with lesser toxicity and side effects. The anti-diabetic potential through alpha-glucosidase inhibition of plant-derived molecules are summarized in this review. Eight molecules (Taxumariene F, Akebonoic acid, Morusin, Rhaponticin, Procyanidin A2, Alaternin, Mulberrofuran K and Psoralidin) were selected as promising drug candidates and their pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity were discussed where available. Abstract
The aim of this research was to establish the constituents of Bauhinia pulla as anti-diabetic agents. A phytochemistry analysis was conducted by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. The alpha-glucosidase inhibitory assay screening resulted in the isolation of eight known compounds of quercetin, quercitrin, luteolin, 5-deoxyluteolin, 4-methyl ether isoliquiritigenin, 3,2',4'-trihydroxy-4-methoxychalcone, stigmasterol and β-sitosterol. Ethanol leaf extracts showed potential effects, which led to a strong inhibitory activity of isolated quercetin at 138.95 µg/mL and 5.41 µg/mL of IC50, respectively. The docking confirmed that flavonoids and chalcones had the same potential binding sites and responsibilities for their activity. This study was the first report of Bauhinia pulla chemical constituents and its alpha-glucosidase inhibition.

Abstract
Oil resistant thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) were prepared using mung bean thermoplastic starch (MTPS) blending with rubbers and sericin. Sericin was incorporated into MTPS as a compatibilizer. MTPS with sericin (MTPSS) was blended with natural rubber (NR) and epoxidized NR (ENR). Sericin at 5% improved the tensile strength (10 MPa), elastic recovery (52%) and morphology of the MTPSS/ENR blend. The mechanical properties, elastic recovery and morphology of the MTPSS5/NR blend were improved by the addition of ENR. The MTPSS/ENR showed palm (28%) and motor oils (8%) swelling resistance because of the hydrophilicity of MTPS and high polarity of ENR. The MTPSS/ENR/NR showed gasoline swelling resistance (104%) because of the hydrophilicity of MTPS and low polarity of NR. FTIR confirmed a reaction between the -NH groups of sericin and the epoxy groups of ENR. This reaction improved the compatibility, mechanical properties, elastic recovery, morphology and oils swelling resistance of the blends.
