Abstract
PURPOSE Better understanding patient uptake of pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing may inform its implementation and maximize the benefits that such testing can confer. This study examined patient and provider factors associated with PGx test ordering in a national health care system in which panel-based testing was implemented as part of routine care. METHODS We used a retrospective matched cohort design and data from the Veterans Health Administration Corporate Data Warehouse. A conditional logistic model was used to identify factors associated with a PGx order receipt and estimate odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals. RESULTS The following patient factors predicted receipt of a PGx test order: younger age, married status, rural residence, non-Hispanic Black or Hispanic race/ethnicity, PGx educational mailer receipt, depression diagnosis, allergy to a drug on the panel, prescriptions for drugs on the panel, and specialty care visits (P < .05). Additionally, patients whose providers were female, younger, a nurse practitioner/physician assistant or pharmacist, or participated in an educational mailer program were more likely to receive an order (P < .05). CONCLUSION This study highlights factors that may facilitate or hinder the widespread and equitable implementation of PGx testing in a large national health care system. The information is being used to further refine the program.

Abstract
Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing can help personalise psychiatric prescribing and improve on the currently adopted trial-and-error prescribing approach. However, widespread implementation is yet to occur. Understanding factors influencing implementation is pertinent to the psychiatric PGx field. Normalisation Process Theory (NPT) seeks to understand the work involved during intervention implementation and is used by this review (PROSPERO: CRD42023399926) to explore factors influencing PGx implementation in psychiatry. Four databases were systematically searched for relevant records and assessed for eligibility following PRISMA guidance. The QuADS tool was applied during quality assessment of included records. Using an abductive approach to codebook thematic analysis, barrier and facilitator themes were developed using NPT as a theoretical framework. Twenty-nine records were included in the data synthesis. Key barrier themes included a PGx knowledge gap, a lack of consensus in policy and guidance, and uncertainty towards the use of PGx. Facilitator themes included an interest in PGx use as a new and improved approach to prescribing, a desire for a multidisciplinary approach to PGx implementation, and the importance of fostering a climate for PGx implementation. Using NPT, this novel review systematically summarises the literature in the psychiatric PGx implementation field. The findings highlight a need to develop national policies on using PGx, and an education and training workforce plan for mental health professionals. By understanding factors influencing implementation, the findings help to address the psychiatric PGx implementation gap. This helps move clinical practice closer towards a personalised psychotropic prescribing approach and associated improvements in patient outcomes. Future policy and research should focus on the appraisal of PGx implementation in psychiatry and the role of pharmacists in PGx service design, implementation, and delivery.

Abstract
Objective: This work was designed to describe the knowledge and perceptions of pharmacogenomics (PGx) among pharmacists in the Canadian province of Manitoba. Methods: A 40-item, web-based survey was distributed to pharmacists in Manitoba. Results: Of 74 participants, one third had some education or training in PGx, and 12.2% had used PGx test results in their practice. Participants' self-rated knowledge of PGx testing and common PGx resources (e.g., Pharmacogenomics Knowledge Base, Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium) was low. Most pharmacists surveyed believe that PGx can improve medication efficacy (82.4%) or prevent adverse drug reactions (81.1%). Most (91%) desired more education on PGx. Conclusion: Manitoba pharmacists reported positive perceptions toward PGx. However, they are currently underprepared to implement PGx into practice.

Abstract
Background and Aims Pharmacists have been recognized as one of the most qualified healthcare professionals in the clinical implementation of pharmacogenomics, yet its widespread implementation in clinical pharmacy practice has remained limited. The review aims to systematically investigate knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes toward pharmacogenomics among pharmacists and pharmacy students to inform the future delivery of pharmacogenomics education programs. Methods PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, and the International Pharmaceutical Abstracts were searched up to May 17, 2022. Studies were selected if they included data on pharmacists' or pharmacy students' knowledge, perception, or attitude about pharmacogenomics and were published in a peer-reviewed, English-language journal with full-text availability. Any published study not deemed original research was excluded. All included studies were critically appraised using the Center for Evidence-Based Management's critical appraisal tools. The data were descriptively analyzed and presented based on pharmacists' and pharmacy students' knowledge/awareness, perception/attitudes toward pharmacogenomic (PGx), confidence in using or interpreting PGx testing results, and their desire to get further PGx education or their most preferred method of further education. Results A combined total of 12,430 pharmacists and pharmacy students from 26 countries are represented in the 52 included studies. Despite overwhelmingly positive attitudes and perceptions toward pharmacogenomics among pharmacists and pharmacy students, an overall lack of adequate knowledge and confidence was found. The review also found a strong desire for further pharmacogenomics education among pharmacists and pharmacy students. Conclusion Pharmacists and pharmacy students have positive perceptions and attitudes toward pharmacogenomics, which is hindered by a lack of knowledge and confidence. However, inadequate control for confounders, limited representativeness of the studied population or region, and small sample sizes diminish the generalizability of the review results. Knowledge and confidence could be improved through enhanced delivery of pharmacogenomic courses within the pharmacy curriculum and continuing education programs.
