Abstract
OBJECTIVE Fanconi anemia (FA), a rare genetic disorder, has not been comprehensively studied regarding its dental and craniofacial phenotypes. This study aimed to systematically review the available evidence on dental, occlusion, and craniofacial anomalies in individuals with FA and to describe the occurrence of these anomalies in a cohort from two Brazilian referral centers. MATERIALS AND METHODS Electronic searches were conducted across six databases, supplemented by manual searches and gray literature. The Brazilian cohort included 46 patients diagnosed with FA. RESULTS A total of 19 articles describing 158 cases of FA were analyzed. The estimated prevalence of dental/craniofacial anomalies ranged from 13.3% to 71.4%. In our cohort, 93.5% of patients exhibited anomalies, primarily root abnormalities (69.6%), tooth rotation (54.3%), and tooth agenesis (26%). Males (p = 0.031) and individuals with endocrine disorders (p = 0.047) were more likely to experience alterations in eruption and/or exfoliation. Anomalies in size and shape were significantly more prevalent among individuals who had undergone hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation at age 14 or older (p = 0.002). CONCLUSION The high occurrence of dental/craniofacial anomalies in individuals with FA suggests that these anomalies are part of the disease's phenotypic spectrum, emphasizing the need to expand and standardize the diagnostic criteria of the disease.

Abstract
Blood comprises various cellular elements and serves as our immune system's second line of defense. Deviations from its normal composition can have adverse effects on health. At the same time, the oral mucosa in the oral cavity functions as the body's first line of defense, and any anomalies or diseases within it can give rise to both systemic and oral complications. If left untreated, caries can lead to severe tooth damage or extraction, potentially affecting an individual's nutrition and overall health. This review article focuses on the importance of understanding the intricate relationship between blood disorders and oral health. It underscores the profound impact of oral manifestations of blood disorders such as β-thalassemia, sickle cell disease, iron deficiency anemia, leukemia, hemophilia, Plummer-Vinson syndrome, erythroblastosis fetalis, Fanconi anemia, cyclic neutropenia, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia on the overall well-being of an individual.

Abstract
Fanconi anemia is a rare disease, which is characterized by decreased production
of all blood cell types. Fanconi anemia is the most common inherited form of aplastic
anemia. Congenital abnormalities of the eyes, ears, and heart, malformed or absent
kidney, urogenital system involvement are common. There is a delay in physical
development. Intelligence in patients with Fanconi anemia is usually normal. The most
serious problems associated with Fanconi anemia include the gradual development of bone
marrow disorders. Many patients with Fanconi anemia develop leukemia or myelodysplastic
syndrome, as well as other oncological diseases. Oral manifestations in patients with
Fanconi anemia can be classified as gingivitis, periodontitis, dental caries, dental
anomalies, soft tissue lesions, oral cancer, and lesions of the tongue. Patients with
Fanconi anemia have increased predisposition to squamous cell carcinoma of the head and
neck and oral cancer. The interdisciplinary team of medical and dental specialists must
be included in the medical and dental treatment of patients with Fanconi anemia. For
proper dental care of patients with Fanconi anemia, the close cooperation of dental
specialists, including orthodontists, pedodontists, prosthetists, oral surgeons, as well
as specialists in periodontology and oral diseases, is of particular
importance.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This research evaluates the occurrence of generalised microdontia and proportionate osteodysplasia in human remains from a Chalcolithic cemetery with early evidence of metalworking in Cyprus (Souskiou-Laona; 3500-2800 BCE). MATERIALS Skeletal and dental remains from Tomb 236 Individual A, in comparison with other human remains from Souskiou-Laona (MNI: 203). METHODS Macroscopic, microscopic, and metric observation of osteodysplasia and microdontia. RESULTS Smaller than usual permanent teeth and adult long bones were discovered, with epiphyseal fusion complete. The cranium, and the zygomatic bones were smaller than other adult remains. CONCLUSIONS Differential diagnosis includes pituitary dwarfism and Majewski/Microcephalic Osteodysplastic Primordial Dwarfism Type II (MOPDII), which are two types of proportionate dwarfism with presentation of microdontia. This individual appears to display skeletal changes consistent with Majewski/Microcephalic Osteodysplastic Primordial Dwarfism Type II. SIGNIFICANCE This is the first case of MOPDII in the archaeological record worldwide, and it is the oldest case of proportionate dwarfism known to date. The presence of an adult probable female with primordial dwarfism at Chalcolithic cemetery of Souskiou-Laona indicates that mutations of the pericentrin (PCNT) gene were present in this early period. LIMITATIONS The remains of the individual were incomplete and poorly preserved. SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH Histology may lead to more detailed information on the individual's age and life story (osteobiography).

Abstract
The objective of this case report was to present the orthodontic treatment of an 8-year-old female patient with Fanconi's anemia and Class III skeletal pattern and agenesis of maxillary lateral incisors. Patient presented in the late mixed dentition with a Class III malocclusion with anterior and posterior crossbites. Rapid maxillary expansion and facemask therapy was performed for 12 months. Phase II was simplified with a 6 × 2 fixed appliance only in the mandibular arch for solving the anterior crowding. Maxillary canines were reshaped as lateral incisors and the central incisors were augmented for closing spaces. Although the systemic disease, orthodontic intervention is possible if individual limitations are considered and treatment is simplified.

Abstract
Fanconi anemia (FA) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by multiple congenital abnormalities, bone marrow failure, and higher susceptibility to malignancies, especially to head and neck carcinomas. Only few reports about the oral manifestations of FA are available. The main reported oral conditions associated with FA are microdontia and advanced periodontitis. The aim of this paper was to report a case of a 10-year-old patient with FA presenting severe spontaneous gingival bleeding, as well as to discuss the role of the dentist in the management and treatment of this condition.

Abstract
Background: The object of this paper was to provide an overview of rare diseases (RDs) with periodontal manifestations and allocate them to relevant categories. Methods: In ROMSE, a database for “Rare Diseases with Orofacial Involvement”, all 541 entities were analyzed with respect to manifestations of periodontal relevance. Inclusion criteria were periodontally relevant changes to the oral cavity, in accordance with the 2018 version of the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions. Rare diseases were recorded, using the methodology described, and subsequently compared with the Orphanet Classification of Rare Diseases. Results: A total of 76 RDs with periodontal involvement were recorded and allocated in accordance with the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions. Of the 541 RDs analyzed as having known orofacial manifestations, almost 14 percent indicated a periodontally compromised dentition. Conclusions: Around 14 percent of RDs with an orofacial involvement showed periodontally relevant manifestations, which present not only as a result of gingivitis and periodontitis, but also gingival hyperplasia in connection with an underlying disease. Thus, dentists play an important role in therapy and early diagnoses of underlying diseases based on periodontally relevant manifestations.

Abstract
Tooth transposition, which is a rare condition, is ascribed to the disturbance of tooth eruption and the subsequent abnormal occlusal relationships. Transpositions mostly involve the upper jaw and more frequently occur between the maxillary canine and first premolar. Herein, we present a case of a maxillary canine‒second molar transposition in a thalassemic patient.

Abstract
Pregnancy in patients with Fanconi anemia (FA) is rare. However, there are reports of successful pregnancy in Fanconi patients after bone marrow transplantation (BMT, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation). We describe the case of a term pregnant woman with FA who was treated with BMT 2 years earlier. She underwent successful delivery with cesarean section using spinal anesthesia without any complications.
