Abstract
To address the current and long-term unmet health needs of the growing population of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) patients, we established the Lymphoma Epidemiology of Outcomes (LEO) cohort study (NCT02736357; https://leocohort.org/). A total of 7735 newly diagnosed patients aged 18 years and older with NHL were prospectively enrolled from 7/1/2015 to 5/31/2020 at 8 academic centers in the United States. The median age at diagnosis was 62 years (range, 18-99). Participants came from 49 US states and included 538 Black/African-Americans (AA), 822 Hispanics (regardless of race), 3386 women, 716 age <40 years, and 1513 rural residents. At study baseline, we abstracted clinical, pathology, and treatment data; banked serum/plasma (N = 5883, 76.0%) and germline DNA (N = 5465, 70.7%); constructed tissue microarrays for four major NHL subtypes (N = 1189); and collected quality of life (N = 5281, 68.3%) and epidemiologic risk factor (N = 4489, 58.0%) data. Through August 2022, there were 1492 deaths. Compared to population-based SEER data (2015-2019), LEO participants had a similar distribution of gender, AA race, Hispanic ethnicity, and NHL subtype, while LEO was underrepresented for patients who were Asian and aged 80 years and above. Observed overall survival rates for LEO at 1 and 2 years were similar to population-based SEER rates for indolent B-cell (follicular and marginal zone) and T-cell lymphomas, but were 10%-15% higher than SEER rates for aggressive B-cell subtypes (diffuse large B-cell and mantle cell). The LEO cohort is a robust and comprehensive national resource to address the role of clinical, tumor, host genetic, epidemiologic, and other biologic factors in NHL prognosis and survivorship.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We summarized a decade of new research focusing on semantic data integration (SDI) since 2009, and we aim to: (1) summarize the state-of-art approaches on integrating health data and information; and (2) identify the main gaps and challenges of integrating health data and information from multiple levels and domains. MATERIALS AND METHODS We used PubMed as our focus is applications of SDI in biomedical domains and followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to search and report for relevant studies published between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2021. We used Covidence-a systematic review management system-to carry out this scoping review. RESULTS The initial search from PubMed resulted in 5,326 articles using the two sets of keywords. We then removed 44 duplicates and 5,282 articles were retained for abstract screening. After abstract screening, we included 246 articles for full-text screening, among which 87 articles were deemed eligible for full-text extraction. We summarized the 87 articles from four aspects: (1) methods for the global schema; (2) data integration strategies (i.e., federated system vs. data warehousing); (3) the sources of the data; and (4) downstream applications. CONCLUSION SDI approach can effectively resolve the semantic heterogeneities across different data sources. We identified two key gaps and challenges in existing SDI studies that (1) many of the existing SDI studies used data from only single-level data sources (e.g., integrating individual-level patient records from different hospital systems), and (2) documentation of the data integration processes is sparse, threatening the reproducibility of SDI studies.

Abstract
Disparities in clinical care have been described for patients with limited insurance coverage or social support. We hypothesized that patients with relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), or multiple myeloma (MM) treated at an urban county hospital serving indigent and under-insured patients would face barriers for referral to a private academic transplant center for autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). Charts of patients with HL, NHL, or MM treated at Grady Memorial Hospital between 2007 and 2013 were reviewed, and 215 patients with diagnosis of HD (n=40), NHL (n=96), and MM (n=79). 55 patients were referred for ASCT consults and 160 patients were not referred. Reasons for transplant non-referral included established clinical criteria (64% of cases), poor performance status (13%), refusal (4%), moved/lost-to-follow-up (4%), medical non-compliance (3%), death (3%), or referral to another hospital (1%). Non-referral based upon socio-economic criteria included: lack of legal immigration status/insurance (2%), and lack of social support/substance abuse (2%). Among the 55 referred patients, 27 patients (49%) underwent ASCT. Median follow-up for all referred patients from the time of diagnosis was 3.9 [0.7-22.7] years. 5-year survival from the date of diagnosis for patients who received ASCT was 80.2% versus 65.7% for non-transplanted patients (log-rank test, p-value=0.11). While the referral process did not demonstrate significant barriers based upon insurance or social status, further evaluation is needed to identify modifiable factors that can improve referral and assess the impact of the Affordable Care Act on access to ASCT.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Anthracyclines are potent antineoplastic agents in the treatment of lymphoid malignancies, but their therapeutic benefit is limited by cardiotoxicity. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends routine surveillance, early diagnosis and treatment of anthracycline-based chemotherapy (AC) induced cardiomyopathy (AC-CMP). We aimed to assess the prevalence of AC-CMP in patients with lymphoma, surveillance patterns of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in those receiving AC and management of patients with AC-CMP at an academic medical centre prior to the development of a comprehensive cardio-oncology programme. METHODS We performed a retrospective cohort study examining 218 patients with aggressive B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (B-NHL) who received AC 1992-2012 and had serial follow-up. AC-CMP was defined as LVEF decrease ≥10% with final LVEF≤50% or LVEF reduction ≥15% regardless of final LVEF. RESULTS Of 218 patients treated with AC, 73 (34%) had LVEF assessment both prior to and after receiving AC. Of these 73 patients, 24 developed AC-CMP and had higher cumulative all-cause mortality than those without AC-CMP (HR 2.35, p=0.03). Coronary artery disease (CAD) was an independent predictor of AC-CMP (p=0.048). Mean post-AC LVEF was lower in patients with CAD compared with those without CAD when their baseline LVEF was 45% (p=0.0009) or 55% (p=0.001) but was similar at 65% (p=0.33). Less than half of patients with AC-CMP received recommended heart failure medication therapy. CONCLUSIONS Historically, one-third of patients with B-NHL treated with AC underwent surveillance according to AHA guidelines. There is substantial opportunity for collaboration between oncologists and cardiologists to improve the care of patients with lymphoma receiving AC.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Although diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) can be cured with rituximab and anthracycline-based therapy, within the elderly population there are additional factors to consider in selecting a treatment regimen including comorbid conditions, decreased drug metabolism, decreased hematologic reserve, reduced performance status, and regimen-related toxicity. PATIENTS AND METHODS We performed a retrospective cohort analysis of patients with DLBCL aged ≥ 65 years at time of diagnosis treated with either an anthracycline-containing regimen (ACR; n = 59) or a non-ACR (n = 13) to assess factors that led to treatment selection, tolerability, and outcomes. RESULTS The mean age was 73 years in the ACR and 77 years in the non-ACR group (P = .009), and median left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) at diagnosis was 60% in the ACR group and 45% in the non-ACR group (P < .001). With an ACR, elderly DLBCL patients had a median overall survival of 28 months and a 2-year progression-free survival (PFS) of 64%. After an ACR, 14 patients [24%] (out of 59 total patients) had a decrease in LVEF, 7 patients [15%] (% is based off of those who we had the data collected, so this is out of 45 with this specific data) required a dose reduction of the anthracycline, and 15 patients [33%] (% is based off of those who we had the data collected, so this is out of 45 with this specific data) could not complete the regimen as planned. Hospitalization due to toxicity occurred in 20 patients [44%] (% is based off of those who we had the data collected, so this is out of 45 with data) of patients in the ACR group and 3 patients [75%] (% is based off of those who we had the data collected, so this is out of 4 with this specific data) in the non-ACR group, and was the only predictor of overall survival. CONCLUSION Results of this study suggest that elderly patients with DLBCL experience meaningful PFS with ACRs, but a third experience toxicity requiring therapy modification. Future studies should examine larger patient populations and define treatments with outcomes similar to ACR that also decrease toxicity and hospitalization in the elderly DLBCL population.

Abstract
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) remains incurable with conventional chemotherapy without consensus on the optimal initial treatment. We examined our single center experience with frontline therapy for patients with MCL in consecutive cases diagnosed 1995-2011. Among 81 patients, median age was 59 (28% were ≥65 years of age), 95% had stage III/IV disease and 54% had a low risk MCL International Prognostic Index score. Thirty-five percent (n=28) received R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone) and 65% received R-HCVAD (rituximab, hyperfractionated cyclophosphamide, vincristine, doxorubicin, dexamethasone alternating with high-dose methotrexate/cytarabine; n=53). Forty-one patients were consolidated with autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT). There were no significant differences in 2-year survival for R-CHOP versus R-HCVAD (p=0.10) or for ASCT versus observation (p=0.06). After controlling for clinical factors, R-HCVAD followed by ASCT was associated with superior progression-free survival (hazard ratio 0.26, 95% confidence interval 0.09-0.75).

Abstract
We performed a retrospective cohort analysis of 701 (533 white and 144 black) patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) treated at two referral centers in southern United States between 1981 and 2010. Median age of diagnosis for blacks was 50 years vs. 57 years for whites (p < 0.001). A greater percentage of blacks presented with elevated lactate dehydrogenase levels, B-symptoms and performance status ≥ 2. More whites (8%) than blacks (3%) had a positive family history of lymphoma (p = 0.048). There were no racial differences in the use of R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone; 52% black vs. 47% white, p = 0.73). While black race predicted worse survival among patients treated with CHOP (hazard ratio [HR] 1.8, p < 0.001), treatment with R-CHOP was associated with improved survival irrespective of race (HR 0.61, p = 0.01). Future studies should examine biological differences that may underlie the observed racial differences in presentation and outcome.

Abstract
Translational research in oncology is directed mainly towards establishing a better risk stratification and searching for appropriate therapeutic targets. This research generates a tremendous amount of complex clinical and biological data needing speedy and effective management. The authors describe the design, implementation and early experiences of a computer-aided system for the integration and management of data for neuroblastoma patients. NeuPAT facilitates clinical and translational research, minimizes the workload in consolidating the information, reduces errors and increases correlation of data through extensive coding. This design can also be applied to other tumor types.

Abstract
There is lack of literature addressing factors that influence the process of care for patients with hematological malignancies. We evaluated the forms of social support available for patients with relapsed lymphoma considering stem cell transplantation and examined the influence of support on treatment delay. Data were collected from 119 patients with relapsed lymphoma using a questionnaire to capture sociodemographic information and emotional, informational, and instrumental forms of social support. Sixty-four percent of the patients were married, 56% had children over 18 years of age, 43% were employed, and 72% had private health insurance. Family members formed a major source of emotional support (83%), while 47% of patients considered personal prayers to be important. While 79% of patients received clinical support from nurses, few received formal group support or formal peer support (6.7% and 1.7% respectively). Support from extended family and peer groups reduced the likelihood of treatment delays. The potential benefits of peer group support should be reinforced for patients considering transplantation given how infrequent this form of social support is utilized and its positive impact on the process of care. Future studies should test the impact of social support on health outcomes especially among the underserved population.

Abstract
Technological innovations such as web services and collaborative Grid platforms like caGrid can create opportunities to converge the worlds of health care and clinical research, by facilitating access and integration of HIV-related malignancy clinical and outcomes data at more sophisticated, semantic levels. At the same time, large numbers of randomized clinical trial and outcomes data on AIDS-defining malignancies (ADM) and non-AIDS-defining malignancies (nADM) have been produced during the last few years. There is still much work to do, though, on obtaining clear conclusions from the integration of such information. This is a white paper on work in progress from Emory University's HIV/AIDS related malignancy data integrative knowledge base project (HIV-K). We are working to increase the understanding of available clinical trial data and outcomes of ADM such as lymphoma, as well as nADM such as anal cancer, Hodgkin lymphoma, or liver cancer. Our hypothesis is that, by creating prototypes of tools for semantics-enabled integrative knowledge bases for HIV/AIDS-related malignancy data, we will facilitate the identification of patterns and potential new overall evidence, as well as the linking of integrated data and results to registries of interest.
