Abstract
Preeclampsia (PE) is a hypertensive disorder that affects pregnancy, mother, and fetus. Early diagnosis of PE remains a challenge. This study aimed to investigate the association between survivin two (rs9904341 and rs17878467) SNPs and PE risk in healthy pregnant women compared to women with preeclampsia. A sample of 166 healthy pregnant women and 160 cases with preeclampsia was included and genotyped for rs9904341 with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and rs17878467 with amplification-refractory mutation system (ARMS) PCR. The genotypic and allelic assessments were performed using various statistical approaches. The frequency of rs9904341 and rs17878467 polymorphisms was not significantly different between PE and healthy pregnant women. rs9904341: codominant (p = 0.5), dominant (p = 0.24), recessive (p = 0.61), over-dominant model (p = 0.38), and log additive (p = 0.25). rs17878467: codominant (p = 0.41), dominant (p = 0.23), recessive (p = 0.4), over-dominant model (p = 0.42), and log additive (p = 0.24). The frequency of survivin rs9904341 CG and CC genotypes was higher in severe PE women compared to controls and this polymorphism was associated with PE severity only in the dominant model (OR = 1.84, CI 1.04-3.26, P = 0.034). There was a significant association between survivin rs9904341 polymorphism and PE severity. No relationship was found between survivin rs9904341 and rs17878467 polymorphisms and PE onset. The allelic and genotypic frequencies of survivin rs9904341 and rs17878467 polymorphisms are not significantly different between the preeclampsia and control groups in all genetic models. Haplotype analysis showed lower frequency G rs9904341 T rs17878467 haplotype in PE woman and this haplotype was associated with lower risk of PE (OR = 0.54, CI 0.33-0.91, P = 0.02).

Abstract
Expanding data suggest that glioblastoma is accountable for the growing prevalence of various forms of stroke formation, such as ischemic stroke and moyamoya disease. However, the underlying deterministic details are still unspecified. Bioinformatics approaches are designed to investigate the relationships between two pathogens as well as fill this study void. Glioblastoma is a form of cancer that typically occurs in the brain or spinal cord and is highly destructive. A stroke occurs when a brain region starts to lose blood circulation and prevents functioning. Moyamoya disorder is a recurrent and recurring arterial disorder of the brain. To begin, adequate gene expression datasets on glioblastoma, ischemic stroke, and moyamoya disease were gathered from various repositories. Then, the association between glioblastoma, ischemic stroke, and moyamoya was established using the existing pipelines. The framework was developed as a generalized workflow to allow for the aggregation of transcriptomic gene expression across specific tissue; Gene Ontology (GO) and biological pathway, as well as the validation of such data, are carried out using enrichment studies such as protein-protein interaction and gold benchmark databases. The results contribute to a more profound knowledge of the disease mechanisms and unveil the projected correlations among the diseases.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The collateral circulation near the cerebral artery occlusion can contribute to the relief of the symptoms and signs of stroke. Genetic factors play a decisive role in the difference in collateral circulation. Survivin, encoded by the baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) repeat-containing 5 gene (BIRC5), plays an important role in maintaining long-term endothelial integrity and homeostasis and as an angiogenic factor in the treatment of vascular diseases. We hypothesized that genetic variations in the BIRC5 gene may contribute to severity by influencing the collateral circulation. This study aimed at examining how the polymorphism of the BIRC5 gene correlated with the collateral circulation and severity of large artery atherosclerotic stroke. METHODS This study enrolled 428 patients with large artery atherosclerotic stroke. There are no statistical differences in age, sex, social behavior, such as smoking and drinking, between the groups classified by the collateral circulation and by the severity of stroke (P > 0.01). Direct sequencing was performed for the genotyping of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of BIRC5 (rs2071214). The enrolled patients were divided into several subgroups based on the collateral flow grading system from the American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology/Society of Interventional Radiology (ASITN/SIR), the results of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Survey (NIHSS) (6 as a threshold), and the score of the modified Rankin scale (mRS) (for the prediction of prognosis, 2 as a threshold). Differences among subgroups were identified through logistic regression. RESULTS The analysis of collateral circulation revealed the significant correlation of SNP of rs2071214 with the development of poor collateral circulation of large artery atherosclerotic stroke in the additive model (GG vs. AA, odds ratio (OR) = 3.592, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.410-9.150, and P=0.007) and the recessive model (GG vs. AA/GA, OR = 3.313, 95% CI = 1.420-7.727, and P=0.006). The analysis of stroke severity exposed the significant role of the SNP of rs2071214 in increasing stroke severity in the dominant model (GA/GG vs. AA, OR = 1.658, 95% CI = 1.017-2.703, and P=0.043) and the additive model (GA vs. AA, OR = 1.717, 95% CI = 1.021-2.888, and P=0.042). However, the analysis of the short-term outcome indicated that three genetic models were not associated with short-term outcomes in the additive model (GA vs. AA, P=0.815, GG vs. AA, and P=0.336), the dominant model (GA/GG vs. AA and P=0.589), and the recessive model (GG vs. AA/GA and P=0.342). CONCLUSION Our findings identified the SNP of rs2071214 of the BIRC5 gene as a risk factor for the poor compensatory ability of collateral circulation and a predictor of stroke severity in large artery atherosclerotic stroke, which suggested that the SNP of rs2071214 can serve as an innovative therapeutic target for patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Abstract
There is a significant correlation between ischemic stroke (IS) and chromosome 9. However, its status was uncertain in China's cold regions. 1920 IS patients, and 1920 healthy individuals were included in the study. Blood samples were collected. The association of SNPs with IS was evaluated by Sequenom, and logistic regression models adjusted for known risk factors of IS were constructed to assess the SNPs' associations in cases and controls. We found rs1333040 and rs2383207 were associated with IS, compared with primitive genotypes. The genotype CT of rs7027526 has a protective role during IS development, while the effect of the genotype TT is still not clear. These results changed after stratification by age and sex. In conclusion, rs1333040 and rs2383207 SNPs in CDKN2BAS are associated with ischemic stroke in the Chinese Han population. This study confirms the association between 9p21.3 and IS.

Abstract
Background The influences of genetic variants on functional clinical outcomes following stroke are unclear. In order to reliably quantify these influences, we undertook a comprehensive meta-analysis of outcomes after acute intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH) or ischaemic stroke (AIS) in relation to different genetic variants. Methods PubMed, PsycInfo, Embase and Medline electronic databases were searched up to January 2019. Outcomes, defined as favourable or poor, were assessed by validated scales (Barthel index, modified Rankin scale, Glasgow outcome scale and National Institutes of Health stroke scale). Results Ninety-two publications comprising 31,895 cases met our inclusion criteria. Poor outcome was observed in patients with ICH who possessed the APOE4 allele: OR =2.60 (95% CI = 1.25–5.41, p = 0.01) and in AIS patients with the GA or AA variant at the BDNF-196 locus: OR = 2.60 (95% CI = 1.25–5.41, p = 0.01) or a loss of function allele of CYP2C19: OR = 2.36 (95% CI = 1.56–3.55, p < 0.0001). Poor outcome was not associated with APOE4: OR = 1.02 (95% CI = 0.81–1.27, p = 0.90) or IL6-174 G/C: OR = 2.21 (95% CI = 0.55–8.86, p = 0.26) in patients with AIS. Conclusions We demonstrate that recovery of AIS was unfavourably associated with variants of BDNF and CYP2C19 genes whilst recovery of ICH was unfavourably associated with APOE4 gene.
