Abstract
Background Susceptibility to some cancers is linked to methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) polymorphisms and the Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score in some populations. However, their relationship with susceptibility to colorectal cancer (CRC) susceptibility in the Hakka Chinese population remains unclear. Methods In total, 620 CRC patients and 734 controls were enrolled. MTHFR rs1801133 was genotyped, medical records (age, sex, smoking history, alcohol consumption, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and family history of cancer, and blood cell parameters) were collected, and the relationship between this information and CRC susceptibility was analyzed. Results There were significant differences in the distribution of CONUT classification (p=0.002), and proportions of history of smoking (p<0.001), hypertension (p<0.001), diabetes mellitus (p<0.001), and family history of cancer (p=0.002) between patients and controls. There were statistically significant differences in MTHFR rs1801133 genotypes distribution (58.7% C/C, 35.5% C/T, and 5.8% T/T in patients vs 65.5%, 31.2%, and 3.3% in controls, p=0.010) and allele distribution (76.5% C, and 23.5% T allele in patients vs 81.1%, and 18.9% in controls, p=0.003) between patients and controls. Logistic regression analysis indicated that non-normal CONUT range (non-normal vs normal, odds ratio (OR): 1.451, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.119-1.882, p=0.005), and MTHFR rs1801133 variant (C/T + T/T vs C/C, OR: 1.373, 95% CI: 1.091-1.728, p=0.007), older age (≥65 vs <65 years, OR: 1.298, 95% CI: 1.023-1.646, p=0.032), male sex (OR: 1.354, 95% CI: 1.067-1.718, p=0.013), and history of alcohol drinking (OR: 2.232, 95% CI: 1.164-4.282, p=0.016) were independently associated with CRC risk. Conclusion Individuals carried MTHFR rs1801133 variant and with non-normal CONUT range, advanced age, history of alcohol consumption may be at increased CRC risk in the Hakka population.

Abstract
Background: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been suggested as risk, prognostic, and predictive factors for colorectal cancer in various populations, but have not been validated so far. The aim of this study was to examine the association of MTHFR C677T (rs1801133) and A1298C (rs1801131) single nucleotide polymorphisms with the risk of rectal cancer as well as the response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) based on 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU)/leucovorin (LV) in the locally advanced setting. Patients and methods: This case-control study included 119 healthy controls and 97 patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). For MTHFR genotyping, restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (PCR-RFLP) was employed. Results: In silico analysis highlighted that SNPs C677T and A1298T correlate with MTHFR gene expression, and that gene expression profile correlates with cancer risk and stage. Using dominant and recessive models, it was found that the MTHFR 677CC vs. 677CT+677TT have increased risk of cancer development (odds ratio (OR): 2.27; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.30-3.95, p = 0.002) as well as 677CC+677CT compared to 677TT (OR: 4.18, 95% CI: 1.16-14.99, p = 0.014). MTHFR 1298AA also shown increased risk for cancer development compared to 1298AC+1298CC (OR:2.0, 95% CI: 1.20-3.59, p = 0.035) Statistical analysis of combined genotypes highlighted the protective role of CT/AC combined genotype (OR: 3.15 95% CI: 1.576-6.279, p = 0.002) while the CC/AA genotype showed an increased risk for rectal cancer development (OR: 2.499, 95% CI: 1.246-5.081, p = 0.016) The carriers of the 677C/1298A haplotype had the highest risk for developing rectal cancer (OR: 1.74; 95% CI: 1.198-2.530, p = 0.002) while the 677T/1298C haplotype seems to provide a protective effect. (OR: 0.44; 95%CI 0.248-0.795, p = 0.003). No significant association with response to chemoradiotherapy was found. Conclusion: Our data point to MTHFR 667C allele and 1298A alleles as low-penetrance risk factors for rectal cancer in our population. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study of this type performed on the Slavic population in the Western Balkan, as various population-based factors might also be significant our findings can be used for future meta-analyses and the construction of genetic cancer risk prediction panels.

Abstract
We assess the contributions of genetic variants for the enzymes involved in capecitabine metabolism to colorectal cancer (CRC) development risk. In this case-control study, DNA samples were collected from 66 patients (King Abdulaziz University Hospital) and 65 controls (King Fahad General Hospital) between April and November 2022 to be used in PCR-RFLP. The chi-square (χ2) test at a significance level of p ˂ 0.05 was used to estimate genotype and allele frequencies. The Lys27Gln variant of cytidine deaminase (CDA) showed a risk ratio (RR) of 1.47 for heterozygous (AC) carriers, with genotype distributions for patients (χ2 = 1.97) and controls (χ2 = 14.7). Homozygous (AA) Ala70Thr carriers demonstrated a three-fold higher risk, with genotype distributions for patients (χ2 = 3.85) and controls (χ2 = 4.23). Genotype distributions of the 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T variant for patients were (χ2 = 22.43) and for controls were (χ2 = 0.07); for the MTHFR A1298C variant, they were (χ2 = 54.44) for patients and (χ2 = 4.58) for controls. Heterozygous (AC) carriers of the A1298C variant demonstrated highly significant protection against CRC development (RR = 0.2, p = 0.001), while a two-fold higher risk for CRC was estimated for homozygous genotype (CC) carriers. In conclusion, the heterozygous genotype of CDA Lys27Gln, the homozygous genotype of CDA Ala70Thr, and the homozygous genotype of MTHFR A1298C were associated with CRC development risk. The heterozygous genotype of MTHFR A1298C variant provided highly significant protection against CRC development. Further examinations using a larger population size are needed to reliably confirm our findings.

Abstract
Migraine is a neurological disorder which impairs the patient's quality of life. Several association studies investigating the association between MTHFR gene C677T and A1298C polymorphisms and susceptibility to migraine were published. But the results were conflicting, so authors performed a meta-analysis of published case control studies to find out the exact association between MTHFR polymorphism and migraine susceptibility. Four databases were searched for suitable studies up to December, 2018. Odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) was calculated adopting additive, homozygote, co-dominant, dominant, and recessive genetic models. Results of MTHFR C677T polymorphism studies meta-analysis showed significant association with migraine risk using allele contrast, homozygote, dominant and recessive genetic models (T vs. C: OR = 1.18, 95% CI = 1.00-1.26, p = 0.05; TT vs. CC: OR = 1.24, 95% CI = 1.0-1.5, p = 0.04; CT vs. CC: OR = 1.08, 95% CI = 0.97-1.07, p = 0.25; TT + CT vs. CC: OR = 1.15, 95% CI = 1.0-1.29, p = 0.04; TT vs. CT + CC: OR = 1.97, 95% CI = 1.28-3.42, p = 0.002). However, results of MTHFR A1298 polymorphism studies meta-analysis did not show any association with migraine. Subgroup analysis based on ethnicity and migraine types i.e. migraine with aura (MA) and without aura (MO) were also performed. Results of present meta-analysis indicate overall association between MTHFR C677T polymorphism with migraine in total 24 studies, in Asian population and in MA cases but did not show any association with Caucasian population and MO cases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Tuberculosis is one of the top ten causes of deaths worldwide. The deficiency of vitamin D was reported to be associated with the increased susceptibility of tuberculosis. Various previous reports were published to check the association of FokI polymorphism of the vitamin D receptor gene with tuberculosis risk. But their results were inconsistent so, we performed a meta-analysis to know the exact relation of the two. METHODS Different databases were screened up to November 2020 with the keywords "Vitamin D receptor", "VDR", and "FokI", along with "Tuberculosis" and "TB" to find the suitable articles. All the statistical analyses were performed by the Open Meta-Analyst program and all p-values were two-tailed with a significance level of 0.05. RESULTS No statistically significant association was observed in the allele contrast model (ORfvs.F = 1.11, 95%CI = 0.99-1.24, p = 0.05, I2 = 73.46%), in the dominant model (ORff+Ffvs.FF = 1.11, 95%CI = 0.96-1.28, p = 0.14, I2 = 71.39%), and in the co-dominant model (ORFfvs.FF = 1.05, 95%CI = 0.92-1.21, p = 0.41, I2 = 65.97%). However, a significant association was found in the homozygote model (ORffvs.FF = 1.32, 95%CI = 1.03-1.69, p = 0.02, I2 = 67.02%) and in the recessive model (ORFF+Ff vs.ff = 1.26, 95%CI = 1.03-1.54, p = 0.02, I2 = 58.01%). Further analysis was performed on the bases of the ethnicity. In Asian population a significant association was found in the homozygote model (ORffvs.FF = 1.57, 95%CI = 1.12-2.21, p = 0.008, I2 = 70.37%) and in the recessive model (ORFF+Ff vs.ff = 1.43, 95%CI = 1.08-1.89, p = 0.01, I2 = 63.13%). CONCLUSION In conclusion, a significant association of FokI with tuberculosis susceptibility was found in the overall analysis and in the Asian population.

Abstract
Methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) is an important enzyme of the folate/homocysteine pathway. It is responsible for regulation of methionine enzyme by reductive methylation. A common variant A66G is reported in the FMN-binding domain of the MTRR gene, which leads to substitution of isoleucine by methionine (I22M) in MTRR enzyme with reduced activity. Reduced catalytic activity of enzyme leads to high homocysteine concentration in blood and increases risk for numerous diseases. The frequency of A66G polymorphism varies in different ethnic groups. The present study has been designed to evaluate the frequency of MTRR A66G gene polymorphism in the Eastern UP population by PCR-RFLP method. Along with this we also performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the global prevalence of this polymorphism. Databases were screened to identified the eligible studies. The prevalence of the G allele and GG genotype was determined by the use of prevalence proportion with 95% CI. Open meta-analyst software was used for the meta-analysis. Total 1000 blood samples were analyzed, the frequencies of A and G alleles were 0.35 and 0.65 respectively. Meta-analysis results revealed that the prevalence of G allele and GG genotype were 49.4% (95% CI 40.6-58.1, p ≤ 0.001) and 24.3% (95% CI 17.8-30.9, p ≤ 0.001) respectively. In sub-group meta-analysis, the lowest frequency of G allele was found in South America (32.7%; 95% CI 14.1-51.3, p ≤ 0.001), and highest in Asia (56.4%; 95% CI 39.5-73.3, p ≤ 0.001). The results of the meta-analysis showed that the Asian population has the highest frequency of G allele and highest frequency of the GG genotype was found in the European population.

Abstract
In an elderly population with cognitive impairment, we investigated the association between serum uric acid (sUA) and serum homocysteine (sHcy), known risk factors for cerebrovascular disease. We also investigated the potential effect of the C677T polymorphism in the gene encoding methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) to the sUA level in different dementia types. Participants underwent a battery of tests including measurements of sUA, sHcy, folic acid, and vitamin B12 as well as genotyping of the MTHFR locus. Data from 861 subjects (597 females to 264 males) were retrospectively analyzed. Subjects with hyperhomocysteinemia had lower serum folic acid and vitamin B12 and higher sUA than those with normal sHcy. sUA was significantly associated with serum creatinine, HbA1c, and sHcy regardless of gender. The TT genotype was found to be associated with hyperhomocysteinemia in both genders (p = 0.001). The levels of hyperlipidemia, sHcy, and sUA differed according to dementia subtypes. High sUA were associated with hyperhomocystenemia in TT genotype only in dementia with vascular lesion. This study reveals that sUA is positively associated with sHcy. We speculate that the two markers synergistically increase cerebrovascular burden and suggested that dietary intervention for sUA and sHcy would be helpful for cognitive decline with vascular lesion.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Osteoporosis is a disease of the bones in which the density of the bones decreases. The prevalence of this disease greatly varies in different populations of the world. Numerous studies have been investigated VDR gene polymorphisms as osteoporosis risk in different ethnic groups. In present meta-analysis, the aim is to find out the role of VDR gene polymorphisms (FokI, BsmI, ApaI, and TaqI) in osteoporosis risk.
Methods
Suitable case-control studies for present meta-analysis were retrieved from four electronic databases. Open Meta-Analyst program was used for statistical analyses.
Results
Studies investigated BsmI (65 studies; 6880 cases/8049 controls), ApaI (31 studies; 3763 cases/3934 controls), FokI (18 studies; 1895 cases/1722 controls), and TaqI (26 studies; 2458 cases/2895 controls) polymorphisms that were included in the present meta-analysis. A significant association was found between the dominant model of FokI (ORff + Ffvs.FF = 1.19, 95% CI = 1.04–1.36, p = 0.01, I2 = 39.36%) in the overall analysis and recessive model of the Caucasian population of TaqI polymorphism (ORTT + Ttvs.tt = 1.35, 95% CI = 1.11–1.63, p = 0.002, I2 = 50.07%) with osteoporosis. On the other hand, no such effect is found in any other genetic models and in any other gene polymorphisms of the overall analyses or sub-group analyses.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the authors found that the dominant model of FokI in the overall analysis and recessive model of TaqI in the Caucasian population are significantly associated with the development of osteoporosis.

Abstract
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common psychiatric disorder that affects approximately 1-3% of the general population. It is characterized by disabling obsessions (intrusive unwanted thoughts) and/or compulsions (ritualized repetitive behaviors). Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) enzyme has an important role in inactivation of dopamine and higher dopamine levels may be implicated in OCD, hence COMT gene is a suitable candidate for OCD. Several case-control studies have evaluated the role of COMT Val 158Met (rs4680;472G- > A) polymorphism as a risk factor for OCD but the results remained inconclusive, hence present meta-analysis was designed to find out correct assessment. All studies that investigated the association of COMT gene Val158Met polymorphism with OCD risk, were considered in the present meta-analysis. Statistical analysis was performed with the software program MetaAnalyst. In the current meta-analysis, 14 case-control studies with 1435 OCD cases and 2753 healthy controls were included. The results indicated significant association between COMT Val158Met polymorphism and OCD risk using allele contrast, homozygote and dominant models (ORA vs G = 1.14; 95% CI = 1.02-1.27; p = 0.01; ORAAvs.GG = 1.33; 95% CI = 1.09-1.62, p = 0.004; ORAA + AGvs.GG = 1.14; 95% CI = 1.0-1.32; p = 0.04). In subgroup analysis based on case gender, meta-analysis of male cases showed significant association using all five genetic models (ORAAvsGG = 1.99; 95%CI = 1.42-2.59; p = <0.001; ORAA + AGvs.GG = 1.59; 95% CI = 1.20-2.10; p = 0.001), but did not show any association between COMT Val 158Met polymorphism and OCD risk in females. In conclusion, results of present meta-analysis supports that the COMT Val158Met polymorphism is a risk factor for OCD especially for males.

Abstract
Catechol-O-methyletransferase (COMT) enzyme is involved in the inactivation of catecholamine and catechol estrogens. Catechol estrogens have carcinogenic potential and DNA damaging ability. Several studies investigated COMT Val158Met polymorphism as risk factor for endometrial cancer but the results were inconclusive. Hence the objective of present study was to find out exact association between COMT gene Val158Met polymorphism and endometrial cancer by a meta-analysis. Pubmed, Google Scholar, Springer Link and Science Direct databases were searched for case-control articles which investigated COMT Val158Met polymorphism in endometrial cancer cases. All statistical analysis was performed using MetaAnalyst and Mix programs. The results of meta-analysis suggested that there were no association between COMT Val158Met polymorphism and endometrial cancer risk (allele contrast model-ORA vs. G = 0.97, 95% CI = 0.86-1.10, p = 0.67; co-dominant model-ORAG vs. GG = 0.91, 95% CI = 0.77-1.06, p = 0.23; homozygote model-ORAA vs. GG = 1.01, 95% CI = 0.84-1.19, p = 0.29; dominant model-ORAA+AG vs. GG = 0.93, 95% CI = 0.77-1.11, p = 0.43; recessive model-ORAA vs. AG+GG = 1.02, 95% CI = 0.89-1.20, p = 0.62). Publication bias was absent. Subgroup analysis based on source of controls was also performed. In conclusion, results of present meta-analysis showed no association between COMT Val158Met polymorphism and susceptibility to endometrial cancer.

Abstract
The correlation between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) polymorphisms and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains controversial. Therefore, we performed this study to better assess the relationship between MTHFR polymorphisms and the likelihood of HCC. A systematic research of PubMed, Medline, and Embase was performed to retrieve relevant articles. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. A total of 15 studies with 8,378 participants were analyzed. In overall analyses, a significant association with the likelihood of HCC was detected for the rs1801131 polymorphism with fixed-effect models in recessive comparison (P = 0.002, OR = 0.62, 95% CI 0.43-0.82). However, no positive results were detected for the rs1801133 polymorphism in any comparison. Further subgroup analyses revealed that the rs1801131 polymorphism was significantly associated with the likelihood of HCC in Asians with both FEMs (recessive model: P < 0.0001, OR = 0.42, 95% CI 0.29-0.62; allele model: P = 0.004, OR =1.20, 95% CI 1.06-1.35) and random-effect models (recessive model: P = 0.002, OR = 0.47, 95% CI 0.29-0.75). Nevertheless, we failed to detect any significant correlation between the rs1801133 polymorphism and HCC. In conclusion, our findings indicated that the rs1801131 polymorphism may serve as a genetic biomarker of HCC in Asians.

Abstract
Our objective was to determine the association between the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase polymorphisms (C677T and A1298C) and the risk of developing acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and multiple myelomas (MM) in Latinos. PubMed, SCOPUS, EBSCO, LILACS, and other Latin-specific databases were searched for case-control studies that investigated the association between these polymorphisms and hematologic malignancies until November 2017. Genotype distributions were extracted and either fixed-effects or random-effects models were used to calculate the pooled crude odds ratios (ORs) for the heterozygous, homozygous, dominant, recessive, and allelic genetic models. No publication bias was detected by the Begg-Mazumdar’s test and Egger’s test. From 290 publications, we identified 15 studies on the C677T polymorphism and 13 studies on the A1298C polymorphism. We observed a significant decrease in risk for the C677T polymorphism (OR range=0.54-0.75, p<0.01) and a significant increase in risk for the A1298C polymorphism (OR range=1.28-2.52, p<0.05) in developing ALL for all genetic models. No associations were determined for CML, AML, or MM for either polymorphism. This meta-analysis demonstrated that the A1298C polymorphism was associated with an increased risk of developing ALL, whereas the C677T polymorphism was associated with a decreased risk (protective factor) in the Latino population.

Abstract
Cervical cancer is an extremely prevalent disease worldwide. The purpose of this study was to illustrate the relationship between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) polymorphisms or methionine synthase reductase (MTRR) polymorphisms and cervical cancer. There were 372 women who performed genetic and folic acid assessments. For the MTHFR C677T, there was no significant difference in the distribution of C allele and T allele in the three groups. However, the mutant C allele of MTHFR A1298C was significantly higher in the cancer group than in the normal group. Similarly, the mutant G allele of MTRR A66G was also higher than the normal group. The serum folic acid levels were gradually decreased with the development of cervical lesions. Serum folate levels in 4–9 ng/ml and ≤4 ng/ml were both significantly associated with cervical cancer risk. However, the MTHFR C677T polymorphism was not associated with the risk of cervical cancer or CIN. In contrast, the MTHFR A1298C polymorphism could increase the risk of both cervical cancer and CIN. In addition, the MTRR A66G polymorphism was only associated with the risk of cervical cancer but not CIN.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Due to extensive literature on colorectal cancer and their heterogeneous results, this study aimed to summarize the systematic reviews which review the cost-effectiveness studies on different aspects of colorectal cancer. METHODS The required data were collected by searching the following key words according to MeSH: "colorectal cancer," "colorectal oncology," "colorectal carcinoma," "colorectal neoplasm," "colorectal tumors," "cost-effectiveness," "systematic review," and "meta-analysis." The following databases were searched: PubMed, Cochrane, Google Scholar, and Scopus. Two reviewers evaluated the articles according to the checklist of "assessment of multiple systematic reviews" (AMSTAR) tool. RESULTS Finally, eight systematic reviews were included in the study. The Drummond checklist was mostly used for assessing the quality of the articles. The main perspective was related to the payer and the least was relevant to the social. The majority of the cases referred to sensitivity analysis (in 76% of the cases) and the lowest point also was allocated to discounting (in 37% of cases). The Markov model was used most widely in the studies. Treatment methods examined in the studies were not cost-effective in comparison with the studied units. Among the screening methods, computerized tomographic colonography and fecal DNA were cost-effective. The average score of the articles' qualities was high (9.8 out of 11). CONCLUSIONS The community perspective should be taken into consideration at large in the studies. It is necessary to pay more attention to discounting subject in studies. More frequent application of the Markov model is recommended.

Abstract
Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is essential for DNA biosynthesis and the epigentic process of DNA methylation. It has been reported that abnormal DNA methylation contributes to the pathogenesis of congenital anomalies. There were many published case control studies assessing the associations of MTHFR C677T polymorphism with risks of nosyndromic cleft lip with and without palate (nsCL/P), but with inconsistent results. To derive a more precise estimation of the relationship, a meta-analysis was performed. Eligible articles were identified by search of databases including PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar and Springer Link up to December, 2015. Finally, a total of 22 studies with 3724 nsCL/P cases and 5275 controls were included in the present meta-analysis. Odds ratios (ORs) with corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were pooled to assess the association. Subgroup analysis based on ethnicity was also performed. All statistical analyses were done by MIX program. Meta-analysis results suggested that MTHFR C677T polymorphism contributed to the increased nsCL/P risk in overall population using four genetic models except homozygote model (for T vs. C: OR = 1.24, 95% CI = 1.1-1.4; for TT + CT vs. CC: OR = 1.29, 95% CI = 1.04-1.59; for CT vs. CC: OR = 1.26, 95% CI = 0.98-1.63; for TT vs. CC: OR = 1.02, 95% CI = 0.74-1.4; for TT vs. CT + CC: OR = 1.36, 95% CI = 1.05-1.74). In conclusion, results of present meta-analysis suggested that MTHFR C677T polymorphism is significantly associated with nonsyndromic orofacial cleft.

Abstract
Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is a rare tumor, and its genomic constitution is different from the maternal genome because of its gestational origin. Methotrexate (MTX) is a standard chemotherapeutic agent for low-risk GTN. An association between polymorphisms of the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene and MTX treatment outcome has been reported in various diseases. Thus, we examined the association between clinical outcome and MTHFR polymorphisms in both tumor and blood DNA of low-risk GTN patients. MTHFR C677T (rs1801133) and A1298C (rs1801131) were genotyped using high-resolution melting assays in 62 Japanese low-risk GTN patients and in 52 antecedent molar tissues. We compared the genotypes of MTHFR polymorphisms with the clinical outcome of 5-day MTX treatment. Twenty-five patients entered remission and 37 patients developed drug resistance or adverse effects that necessitated a drug change. The MTHFR 677T allele in molar tissue was significantly related to the need for drug change (P=0.006; odds ratio [OR], 3.13; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.31-7.49), in contrast to MTHFR 1298C (P=0.18; OR, 0.63; 95% CI, 0.32-1.25). The MTHFR 677T and 1298C alleles obtained from patients' blood DNA were not related to MTX treatment outcome (P=0.49; OR 1.31; 95% CI, 0.61-2.91 and P=0.10; OR 0.52; 95% CI, 0.22-1.15, respectively). These data demonstrate for the first time that the genotype of MTHFR 677TT in molar tissue is associated with ineffective MTX treatment in Japanese low-risk GTN patients.

Several studies have investigated whether MTHFR rs1801133 polymorphism contributes to risk of colorectal cancer (CRC), however the results are inconclusive. AIM The purpose of this study was to investigate this hypothesis in a case-control study and meta-analysis in Iranian population. MATERIALS & METHODS This polymorphism was genotyped in the 2421 subjects (46% CRC patients) from Tehran. Meta-analysis was performed for determining the risk effect size of this polymorphism on CRC. RESULTS Both case-control study and meta-analysis showed no association between rs1801133 and CRC risk or its features. CONCLUSION This study failed to identify an association between the rs1801133 and susceptibility to CRC in Iranian population.
