Abstract
Rapid alkalinization factors (RALFs), belonging to a family of small secreted peptides, have been considered as important signaling molecules in diverse biological processes, including immunity. Current studies on RALF-modulated immunity mainly focus on Arabidopsis, but little is reported in crop plants. The rice immune receptor XA21 confers immunity to the bacterial blight pathogen, Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). Here, we pursued functional characterization of rice RALF26 (OsRALF26) up-regulated by Xoo during XA21-mediated immune response. When applied exogenously as a recombinant peptide, OsRALF26 induced a series of immune responses, including pathogenesis-related genes (PRs) induction, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and callose deposition in rice and/or Arabidopsis. Transgenic rice and Arabidopsis overexpressing OsRALF26 exhibited significantly enhanced resistance to Xoo and Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 (Pst DC3000), respectively. In yeast two-hybrid, pull-down assays, and co-immunoprecipitation analyses, rice FER-like receptor 1 (OsFLR1) was identified as a receptor of OsRALF26. Transient expression of OsFLR1 in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves displayed significantly increased ROS production and callose deposition after OsRALF26 treatment. Together, we propose that OsRALF26 induced by Xoo in an XA21-dependent manner is perceived by OsFLR1 and may play a novel role in the enforcement of XA21-mediated immunity.

Abstract
Rice, Oryza sativa, is the major staple food that provides a larger share of dietary energy for more of the population than other cereal crops. Moreover, rice has a significant amount of protein including four different fractions such as prolamin, glutelin, globulin, and albumin with different solubility characteristics. However, these proteins exhibit a higher amino acid profile, so they are nutritionally important and possess several functional properties. Compared with many other cereal grains, rice protein is hypoallergic due to the absence of gluten, and therefore it is used to formulate food for infants and gluten-allergic people. Furthermore, the availability makes rice an easily accessible protein source and it exhibits several activities in the human body which discernibly affect total health. Because of these advantages, food industries are currently focusing on the effective application of rice protein as an alternative to animal-based and gluten-containing protein by overcoming limiting factors, such as poor solubility. Hence, it is important to gain an in-depth understanding of the rice protein to expand its application so, the underlined concept of this review is to give a current summary of rice protein, a detailed discussion of the chemistry of rice protein, and extraction techniques, and its functional properties. Furthermore, the impact of rice protein on human health and the current application of rice protein is also mentioned.

Abstract
Background Clinical studies have shown that the efficacy of programmed cell death receptor-1/programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) inhibitors on glioblastoma (GBM) is much lower than what is expected because of the low immunogenicity of GBM. Ferroptosis of cancer cells can induce the maturation of dendritic cells (DC cells) and increase the activity of T cell. The activated T cells release IFN-γ, which subsequently induces the ferroptosis of cancer cells. Thus, the aim of this paper is to set up a new GBM-targeted drug delivery system (Fe3O4-siPD-L1@M-BV2) to boost ferroptosis for immunotherapy of drug-resistant GBM. Results Fe3O4-siPD-L1@M-BV2 significantly increased the accumulation of siPD-L1 and Fe2+ in orthotopic drug-resistant GBM tissue in mice. Fe3O4-siPD-L1@M-BV2 markedly decreased the protein expression of PD-L1 and increased the ratio between effector T cells and regulatory T cells in orthotopic drug-resistant GBM tissue. Moreover, Fe3O4-siPD-L1@M-BV2 induced ferroptosis of GBM cells and maturation of DC cell, and it also increased the ratio between M1-type microglia and M2-type microglia in orthotopic drug-resistant GBM tissue. Finally, the growth of orthotopic drug-resistant GBM in mice was significantly inhibited by Fe3O4-siPD-L1@M-BV2. Conclusion The mutual cascade amplification effect between ferroptosis and immune reactivation induced by Fe3O4-siPD-L1@M-BV2 significantly inhibited the growth of orthotopic drug-resistant GBM and prolonged the survival time of orthotopic drug-resistant GBM mice. Abstract
The quality of protein is based on their amino acid composition, especially on the content and availability of essential amino acids. Cereals are important sources of protein for human nutrition, but are limited in the amounts of essential amino acids, notably lysine. The aim of this study was to analyze the chemical composition and amino acid profiles of different cereals that are important for nutritional purposes in human diet. The content of protein, moisture and crude fat in cereals varied significantly from 7.83 to 13.22%, 11.45 to 13.80%, and from 1.67 to 6.35%, respectively. The obtained results showed that oat had the highest contents of crude protein (13.22%), crude fat (6.35%) and crude cellulose (9.42%) compared to other cereals. Significant (p < 0.05) variation existed in the content of essential and nonessential amino acids among samples with the highest level in oat and wheat. Essential amino acids accounted for one-third of the total amino acids in the tested cereals. Glutamic acid was found to be the most abundant amino acid. It could be concluded that the amino acid composition of oat is the most favorable among cereals due to its high protein content and the content of lysine which can be found in limited amounts in most of the cereals.
