Abstract
Azomethine ylides are fascinating 1,3-dipoles for [3 + 2] cycloaddition reactions toward the construction of N-heterocycles. Herein, an efficient and environmentally benign electrochemical approach for the generation of a nonstabilized azomethine ylide has been established under metal-free and external oxidant-free conditions. The resulting 1,3-dipole undergoes a [3 + 2] cycloaddition reaction with olefins. This electrosynthetic methodology indulges a straightforward and facile approach for the construction of substituted pyrrolidines.

Abstract
Experimental and theoretical investigations have revealed that the chemical and physical properties of graphene are crucially determined by their topological structures. Therefore, the atomically precise synthesis of graphene nanostructures is essential. A particular example is graphene nanostructures with zigzag-edged structures, which exhibit unique (opto)electronic and magnetic properties owing to their spin-polarized edge state. Recent progress in the development of synthetic methods and strategies as well as characterization methods has given access to this class of unprecedented graphene nanostructures, which used to be purely molecular objectives in theoretical chemistry. Thus, clear insight into the structure-property relationships has become possible as well as new applications in organic carbon-based electronic and spintronic devices. In this Minireview, we discuss the recent progress in the controlled synthesis of zigzag-edged graphene nanostructures with different topologies through a bottom-up synthetic strategy.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed reaction of N-aromatic zwitterion and trimethylenemethane that gives fused N-heterocycles via dearomative [3 + 2] cycloaddition and intramolecular cyclization is developed, and a cyclopentane-fused cyclic product is generated. Combining computational and experimental studies, the site-selective dearomatization and the mechanism of this novel reaction are investigated in detail, and the value of pyridinium zwitterion as a reactant is demonstrated.

Abstract
In the context of drug discovery, novel spirocyclic pyrrolidines have been synthesized in two steps from common three- to seven-membered-ring (hetero)alicyclic ketones. The key transformation is a reaction between an electron-deficient exocyclic alkene and an in situ generated N-benzyl azomethine ylide. The developed method has been used to synthesize the central diamine core of the known antibacterial agents Sitafloxacin and Olamufloxacin.

Acetic acid catalyzed in situ generation of ketimine based 1,3-dipoles, and single-step construction of imidazolidine ring with three chiral centers and pyrrolidine ring with four chiral centers via formation of new C–N and C–C bonds is reported.

Abstract
Synthesis of functionalized dispiro-oxindoles via [3 + 3]-cycloaddition of azomethine ylide generated from condensation of isatin and proline is reported. A transition state model for the origin of diastereoselectivity and mechanism of formation of these types of adducts is proposed.

Abstract
A facile synthesis of azabicycloadducts is described by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of thioisatin with thiazolidine-2-carboxylic acid in the presence of various electron rich and electron deficient dipolarophiles. Theoritical calculations have been performed to study the regioselectivity of products. The geometrical and energetic properties have been analyzed for the different reactants, transition states and cycloadducts formed.
