Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in the world, particularly affecting female cancer patients. Enhancing the therapeutic strategies for breast cancer necessitates identifying molecular drug targets that effectively eliminate tumor cells. One of these prominent targets is the forkhead and O3a class (FOXO3a), a member of the forkhead transcription factor subfamily. FOXO3a plays a pivotal role in various cellular processes, including apoptosis, proliferation, cell cycle regulation, and drug resistance. It acts as a tumor suppressor in multiple cancer types, although its specific role in cancer remains unclear. Moreover, FOXO3a shows promise as a potential marker for tumor diagnosis and prognosis in breast cancer patients. In addition, it is actively influenced by common anti-breast cancer drugs like paclitaxel, simvastatin, and gefitinib. In breast cancer, the regulation of FOXO3a involves intricate networks, encompassing post-translational modification post-translational regulation by non-coding RNA (ncRNA) and protein-protein interaction. The specific mechanism of FOXO3a in breast cancer urgently requires further investigation. This review aims to systematically elucidate the role of FOXO3a in breast cancer. Additionally, it reviews the interaction of FOXO3a and its upstream and downstream signaling pathway-related molecules to uncover potential therapeutic drugs and related regulatory factors for breast cancer treatment by regulating FOXO3a.

Abstract
For patients with single ventricle physiology, being able to initially establish systemic blood flow and control pulmonary blood flow is critical to their long-term health. Recently, there have been descriptions in achieving this by a purely transcatheter approach with stenting of the ductus arteriosus and implanting pulmonary flow restrictors, a very appealing prospect. We review a case series of 6 patients who underwent a percutaneous modified stage 1 approach using modified Microvascular plugs (MVP) at our center between September 2019 and December 2019. The initial procedure was technically successful in all patients with single-stage ductal stenting and placement of bilateral modified MVP via femoral access. Four patients underwent repeat cardiac catheterization prior to subsequent surgery that demonstrated elevated Qp:Qs (> 2:1) in 3 of the 4 patients with an elevated mean distal PA pressure > 20 mmHg in all patients. In some patients, the device migrated into the distal right pulmonary artery. One patient after Glenn shunt was found to have significant LPA stenosis requiring stenting. While the percutaneous modified stage 1 approach is a promising approach, we offer a word of caution against widespread adoption of this technique with the currently available devices.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Background and purposeStatic balloon atrial septostomy is a widely accepted intervention for children with CHD. Successful surgical palliation is creating increasing numbers of adult CHD patients who need subsequent left heart intervention requiring transseptal access. In these patients, the interatrial septum is usually thick and fibrotic because of a previous open heart surgery or catheter intervention, and conventional transseptal puncture may be unsuccessful. Static balloon atrial septostomy to access the left atrium may facilitate intervention via the interatrial septum in such situations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness and the safety of static balloon atrial septostomy, and the evolution of an iatrogenic atrial septal defect post procedure in adult CHD. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed six procedures in five adults with CHD and collected demographic characteristics, details of the procedures, clinical outcome, and size changes of the iatrogenic atrial septal defect. RESULTS The mean age at the time of the procedure was 35 years. The intended primary interventions were pulmonary vein isolation, stenting for pulmonary vein obstruction, and catheter ablation for focal atrial tachycardia. All static balloon atrial septostomies were effective, and the left heart interventions were successfully achieved via transseptal sheaths. There were no major complications associated with the static balloon atrial septostomy. There were no adverse clinical outcomes related to iatrogenic atrial septal defect, and the size of the defects regressed over time in all cases. CONCLUSIONS Static balloon atrial septostomy can be a safe and useful technique in adult CHD patients needing left heart procedures. The thick interatrial septum found in postoperative patients may reduce the risk of persistent iatrogenic atrial septal defect.

Abstract
Ductal stenting in neonates with either duct-dependent pulmonary or systemic circulation has become a good alternative for the initial palliation of complex congenital heart disease. Changes of stent and catheter technology (low profile, flexible, premounted stents with good scaffolding), better patient selection and preparation, optimal interventional access and covering the complete length of the duct have significantly improved results.

Abstract
The hybrid approach to the treatment of patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome most commonly includes transcatheter placement of a stent in the arterial duct and surgical placement of bands on the branch pulmonary arteries via median sternotomy. This manuscript will review the concept of hybrid palliation and discuss topics related to several time intervals: peri-procedural, post-procedural, interstage, and comprehensive stage 2.

Abstract
This report describes a case in which successful stenting of ductus arteriosus (DA) was performed for a 27-day-old boy with truncus arteriosus (TA) and interrupted aortic arch (IAA). The patent DA was associated with a right aortic arch. During the balloon catheter crossing of the ductus, the DA and descending aorta shifted toward the left side, making appropriate stent placement difficult. Additionally, the DA was longer than in previously reported cases with left aortic arch, thus requiring a longer stent. This experience suggests that DA stenting in neonates with TA and IAA averts surgical repair during the early neonatal period.

Abstract
Although total repair of some congenital heart defects is possible in young children, palliative procedures still play an important role in relieving patients' symptoms, particularly in emergent settings, when total correction or surgical repair is not available. However, the concepts and taxonomies of the palliative procedures for congenital heart diseases sometimes seem to be ambiguous and confusing for young cardiac surgeons and cardiologists. This article gives a full-scope overview of the concepts, categories, indications, historical developments and clinical outcomes of the palliative procedures for congenital heart defects that have been documented in the literature. In total, there are 21 palliative procedures for the surgical management of congenital heart defects, which can be classified into four categories: firstly, increasing pulmonary artery flow for pulmonary oligaemia (including shunt procedures); secondly, decreasing pulmonary artery flow for pulmonary overcirculation (pulmonary banding and Norwood procedure); thirdly, enhancing intracardiac blood-oxygen mixture for systemic hypoxaemia (atrial septostomy subjected to different techniques); and, finally, other procedures, including congenital mitral or aortic stenosis palliation, coarctation of aorta palliation and hybrid palliative procedures for hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Modified Blalock-Taussig's and Glenn's shunts and pulmonary artery banding represent the pre-eminent palliative procedures for congenital heart defects and have been proven to be satisfactory after long-term clinical application. It seems that there is a growing trend towards the use of interventional techniques with stent deployment as an alternative to the surgical approach.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the long-term outcome of infants with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) who underwent placement of internal pulmonary artery bands as part of a transcatheter palliation procedure followed by primary heart transplantation. Transcatheter palliation included stenting of the ductus arteriosus, decompression of the left atrium by atrial septostomy, and internal pulmonary artery band placement. Cardiac hemodynamics, pulmonary artery architecture, and pulmonary artery growth since transplantation are described. Nine infants with HLHS had internal pulmonary artery bands placed and underwent successful heart transplant. No infant required reconstruction of the pulmonary arteries at the time of transplant. At 1 year after transplant, all of the recipients had normal mean pulmonary artery pressure, pulmonary vascular resistance, and transpulmonary gradient. Pulmonary angiography performed at 1 year after transplant demonstrated no distortion of pulmonary artery anatomy with significant interval growth of the branch pulmonary arteries. There was 100% survival to hospital discharge after transplant in this cohort of infants. Transcatheter placement of internal pulmonary artery bands for HLHS offers protection of the pulmonary vascular bed while preserving pulmonary artery architecture and growth with good long-term outcome.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Interventional procedures often are used as part of multistage treatment for hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of interventions in multistage treatment of HLHS. METHODS AND RESULTS Between 1999 and 2007, 78 interventions were performed for 58 children with HLHS at different stages of surgical treatment. Group 1, involving 30 interventions for 22 patients with postoperative pulmonary arterial stenosis, showed reduced pulmonary artery pressure and increased vessel diameter. Group 2, involving 15 interventions after the Norwood operation for 12 patients with aortic arch obstruction, showed success for 11 patients. Group 3, involving eight balloon angioplasties of narrowed Glenn anastomosis for seven patients, showed abolition of the pressure gradient between the superior vena cava and the right pulmonary artery. Group 4, involving eight interventional closures of a fenestration for eight patients after a Fontan operation, showed increased oxygen saturation for all eight patients. Group 5, involving seven interventions for six patients in whom venovenous collaterals were closed percutaneously, showed improved oxygen saturation. For Group 6, uncommon miscellaneous interventions were used to stabilize the patients' condition before the next surgical treatment. CONCLUSIONS Interventional procedures play an important role during multistage treatment of HLHS. They allow for a reduction in the number of operations or stabilization of the patients' condition before the next surgical treatment.
