Abstract
Practical adsorbents that could efficiently collect radioactive Cesium (Cs+) are critically important in achieving proper management and treatment measures for nuclear wastes. Herein, a hyper-crosslinked tetraphenylborate-based adsorbent (TPB-X) was prepared by reacting TPB anions as Cs+ binding sites with dimethoxymethane (DMM) as crosslinker. The most efficient TPB-X synthesis was attained at 1:4 TPB/DMM mole ratio with sorbent yield of 81.75%. Various techniques such as FTIR, TGA-DTG, N2 adsorption/desorption and SEM-EDS reveal that TPB-X is a water-insoluble, thermally stable and highly porous granular sorbent. Its hierarchical pore structure explains its very high BET surface area (1030 m2 g-1). Sequestration of Cs+ by TPB-X involves its exchange with H+ followed by its binding with the phenyl rings of TPB through cation-π interactions. The Cs+ adsorption in TPB-X is endothermic and spontaneous, which adheres to the Hill isotherm model (qm = 140.58 mg g-1) and follows pseudo-second order kinetics (k2 = 0.063 g mg-1 h-1). Calculations from the density functional theory reveal that the binding of TPB anion is strongest for Cs+. Thus, TPB-X was able to selectively capture Cs+ in simulated surface water containing Na+, K+, Mg2+, and Ca2+ and in HLLW containing Na+, Rb+, Sr2+, and Ba2+. Hyper-crosslinking was found beneficial in rendering TPB-X reusable as the sorbent was easily retrieved from the feed after Cs+ capture and was able to withstand the acid treatment for its regeneration. TPB-X exhibited consistent performance with no sign of chemical or physical deterioration. TPB-X offers a practical approach in handling Cs+ contaminated streams as it can be repeatedly used to enrich Cs+ in smaller volume of media, which can then be purified for Cs+ reuse or stored for long-term natural Cs+ decay process.

Abstract
Posttranslational modifications play a crucial role in regulating gene expression. Among these modifications, arginine methylation has recently attracted tremendous attention due to its role in multiple cellular functions. This review discusses the recent advances that have established arginine methylation as a major player in determining cytoplasmic messenger RNA (mRNA) fate. We specifically focus on research that implicates arginine methylation in regulating mRNA translation, decay, and RNA granule dynamics. Based on this research, we highlight a few emerging future avenues that will lead to exciting discoveries in this field.

Abstract
Calcium ions are a kind of unavoidable ions in water. It has the deleterious effect on molybdenite flotation. High-calcium flotation wastewater (HCFW) was reused for flotation circuits after the pretreatment removing Ca2+ in from HCFW. The high cost of wastewater treatment limits HCFW reuse. In this paper, an efficient, innovative, low-cost and environmental-friendly flotation wastewater reuse technology was introduced. XLM, as a composite collector for molybdenite, is a mixture of diesel oil (DO) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). It could reduce the deleterious effects of Ca2+ on the flotation of molybdenite in HCFW. Therefore, this was used to replace the pretreatment removing Ca2+ in from high Ca2+ wastewater and saved the cost of wastewater treatment. When XLM consists of 4 wt % PAHs and 96 wt % DO, it has better adaptability than DO in the different Ca2+ concentration of flotation water. The contact angle measurements indicated that PAHs, as a synergistic component of a composite collector, could adsorb on the edges of molybdenite in the presence of Ca2+ by forming PAHs-Ca2+-MoO42− structure to increase the contact angle of fine molybdenite particle and reduce the deleterious effects of Ca2+ on the flotation of molybdenite. The industrial-scale test further that demonstrated XLM can improve the molybdenite roughing recovery and grade by 1.8% and 3.46% compared with DO as the collector in high Ca2+ flotation wastewater. It is feasible and effective to replace high-cost wastewater treatment for molybdenum plants.

Abstract
7α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (7α-HSDH) can catalyse the oxidation of C7 α-OH of the steroid nucleus in the bile acid metabolism. In the paper we determined the crystal structure of 7α-HSDH from Clostridium absonum (CA 7α-HSDH) complexed with taurochenodeoxycholic acid (TCDCA) and NADP(+) by X-ray diffraction, which, as a tetramer, possesses the typical α/β folding pattern. The four subunits of an asymmetric unit lie in the fact that there are the stable hydrophobic interactions between Q-axis-related subunits. Significantly, we captured an active state of the NADP(+), confirming that nicotinamide moiety of NADP(+) act as electron carrier in the dehydrogenation. On the basis of crystal structure analysis, site-directed mutagenesis and MD simulation, furthermore, we find that the guanidinium of Arg38 can form the stable cation-π interaction with the adenine ring of NADP(+), and the cation-π interaction and hydrogen bonds between Arg38 and NADP(+) have a significant anchor effect on the cofactor binding to CA 7α-HSDH.

Abstract
Currently, the hazard posed by pharmaceutical residues is a major concern of ecotoxicology. Most of the antidepressants belong to a family named the Cationic Amphipathic Drugs known to have specific interactions with cell membranes. The present study assessed the impact of eight antidepressants belonging to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors by the combination of multi-approaches (in vivo, in vitro, in silico) and gives some insights on the mode of action for these molecules. Antidepressants were from the most to the least toxic compound for Daphnia magna: Sertraline (EC50=1.15 mg L(-1))>Clomipramine (2.74 mg L(-1))>Amitriptyline (4.82 mg L(-1))>Fluoxetine (5.91 mg L(-1))>Paroxetine (6.24 mg L(-1))>Mianserine (7.81 mg L(-1))>Citalopram (30.14 mg L(-1)) and Venlafaxine (141.28 mg L(-1)). These acute toxicities were found correlated to Log Kow coefficients (R=0.93, p<0.001) and to cytotoxicity assessed on abalone hemocytes through the neutral red uptake assay (R=0.96, p<0.001). If narcosis as mode of action is typically expected during acute ecotoxicity bioassays, we showed by molecular modeling that particular interactions can exist between antidepressants and phosphatidylcholine, a major component of cell membranes, leading to a more specific mode of action corresponding to a potential acidic hydrolysis of ester functions.

Abstract
This review describes a multidimensional treatment of molecular recognition phenomena involving aromatic rings in chemical and biological systems. It summarizes new results reported since the appearance of an earlier review in 2003 in host-guest chemistry, biological affinity assays and biostructural analysis, data base mining in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) and the Protein Data Bank (PDB), and advanced computational studies. Topics addressed are arene-arene, perfluoroarene-arene, S⋅⋅⋅aromatic, cation-π, and anion-π interactions, as well as hydrogen bonding to π systems. The generated knowledge benefits, in particular, structure-based hit-to-lead development and lead optimization both in the pharmaceutical and in the crop protection industry. It equally facilitates the development of new advanced materials and supramolecular systems, and should inspire further utilization of interactions with aromatic rings to control the stereochemical outcome of synthetic transformations.
