Entropy optimization analysis in MHD nanomaterials (TiO2-GO) flow with homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions

Objective: Nanoliquid flows are widely utilized in industrial, petroleum, engineering, and pharmaceutical applications including electric cooling, drug delivery, nuclear reactor cooling, solar collectors, heat exchangers, magnetohydrodynamic power generators, aerospace, porous media, thermal storage systems, and many others. Darcy-Forchheimer magnetized hybrid nanoliquid subjected to a stretchable cylinder was addressed, and the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux analysis was considered. Herein, disulfido (dithioxo) molybdenum (MoS4) and cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) were considered as nanoparticles, and engine oil as a conventional liquid. The thermal relationship of heat generation and radiation was discussed, and the influence of the entropy rate was addressed. Methodology: Governing expressions were transformed into dimensionless forms. Simulation by the ND-solve technique was implemented. Conclusions: Features for the entropy rate, liquid flow, and temperature against emerging variables for nanoliquid (MoS4/engine oil) and hybrid nanoliquid (MoS4 + CoFe2O4/engine oil) were explored. The numerical results of the coefficient of skin friction and thermal transport rate for nanoliquid (MoS4/engine oil) and hybrid nanoliquid (MoS4 + CoFe2O4/engine oil) were examined. Reduction in velocity clearly occurred through a magnetic field, whereas the reverse impact held for the entropy rate. The thermal field and entropy rate against the curvature parameter were enhanced. A decrease in liquid flow occurred for higher porosity variables. An enhancement in the entropy rate was witnessed for radiation and porosity parameters. Higher radiation and thermal relaxation time variables resulted in enhancement of the thermal transport rate.

Space-fractional heat transfer analysis of hybrid nanofluid along a permeable plate considering inclined magnetic field

In this study, the Caputo space-fractional derivatives of energy equation are used to model the heat transfer of hybrid nanofluid flow along a plate. The plate is considered permeable and affected by an inclined magnetic field. We use the space-fractional derivative of Fourier's law to communicate between the nonlocal temperature gradient and heat flux. The hybrid nanofluid is formed by dispersing graphene oxide and silver nanoparticles in water. The new fractional integro-differential boundary layer equations are reduced to ordinary nonlinear equations utilizing suitable normalizations and solved via a novel semi-analytical approach, namely the optimized collocation method. The results reveal that the increment of the order of space-fractional derivatives and the magnetic inclination angle increase the Nusselt number. Also, an increase in the order of space-fractional derivatives leads to a thicker thermal boundary layer thickness resulting in a higher temperature. It is also found that the temperature of the fluid rises by changing the working fluid from pure water to single nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid, respectively. What is more, the proposed semi-analytical method will be beneficial to future research in fractional boundary layer problems.

Numerical Simulation of Homogeneous–Heterogeneous Reactions through a Hybrid Nanofluid Flowing over a Rotating Disc for Solar Heating Applications

Several materials, such as aluminum and copper, exhibit non-Newtonian rheological behaviors. Aluminum and copper nanoparticles are ideal for wiring power grids, including overhead power transmission lines and local power distribution lines, because they provide a better conductivity-to-weight ratio than bulk copper; they are also some of the most common materials used in electrical applications. Therefore, the current investigation inspected the flow characteristics of homogeneous–heterogeneous reactions in a hybrid nanofluid flowing over a rotating disc. The velocity slip condition was examined. The energy equation was developed by employing the first law of thermodynamics. Mixed convection thermal radiation and the convective condition effect were addressed. The dimensionless governing models were solved to give the best possible investigative solution using the fourth- and fifth-order Runge–Kutta–Felhberg numerical method. The effects of different influential variables on the velocity and temperature were scrutinized graphically. The effects of the variation of various sundry parameters on the friction factor and Nusselt numbers were also analyzed. The results revealed that the velocity gradient increased significantly for augmented values of the mixed convection parameter. Here, the velocity gradient increased more rapidly for a hybrid nanoliquid than for a nanofluid. The thermal distribution was enhanced due to a significantly increased radiation parameter.

Theoretical analysis of SWCNT- MWCNT/H2O hybrid flow over an upward/downward moving rotating disk

The flow-through various disk movement has wide range of applications in manufacturing processes like, computer storage equipment’s, rotating machines, electronic and various types of medical equipment’s. Inspired from these applications, here we scrutinised the consequences of homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions and uniform heat source/sink on the three-dimensional (3D) hybrid SWCNT-MWCNT’s flow on time dependent moving upward/downward rotating disk. The renowned innovation of this paper is the application of the hybrid nanofluid made up of SWCNT and MWCNT’s. Heat generation/absorption effect for the disk that does not move up or down creates a dual flow on the disk. Alternatively, the rotation and upright motion of the disk creates a 3D flow on the surface which has not been considered in the open literature. The modelled PDE’s are reduced in to ODE’s by opting suitable similarity variables and boundary constraints. Here, we used RKF-45 method to obtain the numerical approximations by adopting shooting technique. The analysis of rate of heat transfer is done through graphs. Further, change in velocity, thermal and concentration profiles for various non-dimensional parameters are deliberated briefly and illustrated with the help of suitable plots. The results reveal that, the, rise in values of homogeneous and heterogeneous reaction parameters improve the rate of reaction which results in reduction of the distribution rate and diminishes the concentration gradient. An increase in expansion/contraction parameter enhances the velocity and thermal gradients.

Effects of Joule Heating and Viscous Dissipation on Magnetohydrodynamic Boundary Layer Flow of Jeffrey Nanofluid over a Vertically Stretching Cylinder

This article investigates unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convective and thermally radiative Jeffrey nanofluid flow in view of a vertical stretchable cylinder with radiation absorption and heat; the reservoir was addressed. The mathematical formulation of Jeffrey nanofluid is established based on the theory of boundary layer approximations pioneered by Prandtl. The governing model expressions in partial differential equations (PDEs) form was transformed into dimensionless form via similarity transformation technique. The set of nonlinear nondimensional partial differential equations are solved with the help of the homotopic analysis method. For the purpose of accuracy, the optimizing system parameters, convergence, and stability analysis of the analytical algorithm (CSA) were performed graphically. The velocity, temperature, and concentration flow are studied and shown graphically with the effect of system parameters such as Grashof number, Hartman number, Prandtl number, thermal radiation, Schmidt number, Eckert number, Deborah number, Brownian parameter, heat source parameter, thermophoresis parameter, and stretching parameter. Moreover, the consequence of system parameters on skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number is also examined graphically and discussed.
